Actually it is a good camping stove, i have 3 of them... may be your camping stove is broken. Complain the seller.

I have the same one. It works really well, with a blue flame. The metal lever near the red knob is an igniter. I think yours is broken. Pity, as it can boil water really fast.

I own this stove, the knob and ignite button could use some improvements but for a emergency burner I would manage to use it safely after some practices.
