    I got my CDL through Swift in 1993 in Salt Lake City. I gave a $200 down payment, then $93 a week for one year and the course was paid for. It was pretty good back then. I had also driven for 3 years prior incognito, but it got me some good experience to get my CDL.

    I was a trainer with Swift and 1st day with my 1st student, Fontana tried to give us a team load. I had to remind then of our setup.

    I left trucking but I'm keeping my cdl with all endorsements current. Medical card is $85 every 2 years.

    New subscriber, is Swift a good company? I’m always hearing people say bad things about the company. Is it because some bad drivers make the good ones for Swift look bad? I’m going to get into trucking 👍

      People just love to hate on others. It’s the largest company and it’s a training company. So there are a lot of inexperienced drivers. Some would rather bash and shame the new drivers rather than reaching out and lending a hand. But that the exception, not the norm while your out here in the real world. It’s a good company to get your CDL and your experience.

    My wife suffers from ILS as well. I am eager to know what helped you with it without using prescription drugs. Because even that isn’t helping my wife.

      I take restlex, it seems to help a little bit. It’s a non-prescription I found online.

    Your CDL is gold in your wallet. Never let it go.
    Also, if you have your Hazmat, don't let it go, either. More gold.

    I live in Phoenix, Az. Do I have to go to Memphis to do training???

      I could be wrong but Im pretty sure they do training in Phoenix. They route you to the nearest facility. They will house you and pay for travel as well.

      One of the video's. Swift released they now have a $1,000.00 guaranteed pay plus. That's before taxes. Imp it's still good pay for starters.

    You guys using automatic or sticks now or both

    • @Titan.Fox56
      @Titan.Fox56 3 роки тому +4

      fully automatic now only, a lot of mega carriers now only train in automatics some will say its to quickly fill seats which I agree and another will say the automatics are better do to the maintenance being cheaper than manual, sense during training a lot of trainees grind gears. Only place I know that still give the OPTION to train in a manual is Maverick but you will have to stay there for 2 years. This is what I know from doing research and calling recruiters cause I'm looking to obtain my CDL's I already have my DOT card, and soon will be obtaining my CLP then Ill either be going to a local college and get trained in a manual. So my best advice is to do research or call recruiters cause some of these youtubers already got their CDL's through a school and aren't restricted but to me if you don't care for the restriction get it. the only reason I don't want it is cause in my area where I live only 2 companies have automatic trucks, rest are full on manual, so I ever decide to go local from OTR, I want to be able to get a job instantly, and with the auto restriction it will be hard. So its really up to you and where you live if you want the restriction. I'll say if you don't care like I do(besides the reason I said) just get it, sense who cares if you drive manual or auto, those who drive manual most and talk shit to those who don't 99% those are "super truckers" and we ignore them like they don't exist cause at the end of the day they aren't better than you or me we are all out here trying to make a living. so manual or auto is all up to you and if you ever want to go local. GOOD LUCK!

    BECARFULL FOR NEW DRIVERS The school was Ok, the mentor was good, but after the graduation, they promise for inexperience driver at least 1000 per week, but if they complete 5 days of work and gets what, the dispatchers are sure the drivers get stock with no trailer, wrong directions, no answer the phone, anyway they do everything for doesn't give you the 5 days driving and the inexperience
    drivers get paid no more than 400 a week which means you have to sleep in the truck for 2 o 3 days with no paid, no decent conditions for less than 400. is been 2 weeks and it's been the same situation week after week. That's the way Swift transportation makes money?
