    OK you are a genius!! I implemented 2 things since you posted this video, 1) sending out offers waaaaay less often and only near payday and 2) not trying to organize my items. This has saved me so much time and I feel more sane not micromanaging everything. 2/3 of the items now sell at full asking price and 1/3 come from my offers! Patience is key! Everything sells eventually! I make fewer sales per week but I earn more per item so it evens out. Thanks for sharing your wisdom! I have so much time for other things.

Most are button down shirt and then short sleeve polo shirts also shorts and jeans. I'm willing to sell them cheap enough for you to make money, I just don't have the time to list them. If you think you might be I can leave my email address.

    Every so often I do retail arbitrage, had luck in the past hopefully will again this week! A great thing about retail arbitrage is if something doesn’t sell within the return policy period (usually 30 days), you can always return, get your $ back! (Save receipts, tags!) Do you do eBay or FB seller groups as well? Need to cull so much stuff; was a flea market vendor from the early 80s-mid 90s then opened a B&M shop, closed in ‘06... since then kept buying to resell, one humongous mess I’m determined to tackle this year. Should’ve stuck to the flea market, very hard work but very high returns as I sold to everyone from the average person to super models, rock stars, designers, celebs. Did picking, styling for the high end buyers; film, video, photo shoots as well. Ah those were the days... eBay saturated the market after opening the shop, and now the same vendors I knew way back when don’t make a fraction of what they once did. Oh well, times change & we have to adapt! Haven’t tried Poshmark but am considering for items I don’t want OUT now! Thank you for the explanation it’s all quite confusing to me! Good luck with all your sales! Jet🧡🎸🎶⚡️🦇🦋

    • @leggs4113
      @leggs4113 5 років тому +7

      Robyn S. When someone likes your item you can send them a price offer through the bundle feature. That way you don’t have to give a shipping discount. It can be one item. Doesn’t have to be a bundle.
      Let me know if you need me to walk you through how to do it.

      @@leggs4113 Thank you for being so kind and answering me so quickly! Tonight I had a situation where someone put one item into a bundle and when I went to send them an offer it required a shipping discount. So evidently the only way to avoid it is if I am the one putting the item into a bundle for them. I suppose I could create another bundle and send it to them. Even though they have already created a bundle also. This gets very confusing lol.

    I have a different strategy, I send out offers on a daily basis as the offers come in...my thought why? because they are NOW interested. If I grab their attention while they like it NOW... I reel them in. and it's working on a daily basis. I also know as a buyer, if I truly want something, I will send offers to anyone with that item, the first one that responds to me I deal with. As a seller it's working for us.

Items that we list over $70 - I'm going a little higher on the listed price and as the likers come in - we are offering the discount with free shipping. We've gotten a few immediate sales with that one. :) These are strategies I'm trying out with our closet that is new with tags. my other closet (much smaller) where i have mostly my thrifted items, doesn't seem to make a difference.

Are you just putting what you think it should be or is there a method you use to find out how much to put? Do you measure each and every item (tees, dresses and like everything) or just things things like skirts and dresses that seem to get asked the most what the measurements are? Also, what do you do when your items just! sit for a very long time? It is very frustrating and any help would be great!

    When did the shipping discount change from $1.50 to $1.80? Also, how do you find out about these kind of changes/updates?

    TY! Found u today. When you give a discount on shipping ($1.80 discount), how does that work?

  • @ashleywise4974
    @ashleywise4974 5 років тому

    Just curious, do you keep track of the discount you submit as offers to likers? And if it doesn’t sell this round, do you base your next round on what you offered before or the price it is currently at in your closet? Sometimes I worry that I’m sending a liker the same offer I sent before, I With Poshmark kept the previous offer visible for sellers to see the way they do for buyers. Does that make sense? Thank you for your amazing videos.

    I know you sell lots of tee shirts and other pieces on a hanger. So how do you remove "hanger bumps" from an item? So many of the items that I pick up at thrift stores are stretched at the shoulders and I can't seem to get rid of the dents even after washing. Help!!!

    • @EmptyHanger
      @EmptyHanger  5 років тому +1

      Hmm I would say if it is stretched out I probably wouldn't buy it. Maybe try steaming them?!

      I’ve read you can soak it in hair conditioner then wash and the fibers will shrink back? Maybe test on something cheap

    Hi I'm thinking about getting into this as a side hobby and seeing if it will go anywhere. I have been looking over people closets all day and it seems like a lot of people use stock photos vs actual photos of what they have. What are your thoughts on this? Pros/cons, up/downs? New items vs resale items? Are they selling all new items from Alibaba.com?
