I love knowing that items get rescued also! I sold a pair of shorts recently and the buyer left me a love note saying she was so excited to wear them in Australia the following week. How cool!
You are right about dropping prices-- its not only a pain in the neck but it almost never results in sales. And yes, you are right, when you start to lower your prices, people keep expecting you to go even lower.
I love seeing videos of women making a living as a reseller. Just starting to get into this on a VERY part-time basis, but I appreciate these videos as motivation. 💪🏼
I love these videos from you! You have so much to share that helps us, you keep it moving, and I like that you clarify that maybe you answered something one way a while back, but now you've got a modified answer. Thank you, Jenna!
I cosign the comment about not needing a ton of supplies. I started in November with a crappy Android phone, a flood light from Ace hardware, Snapseed photo editing app, and a command hook.
Hi! I don't know if this has already been requested but I'd love to see a bookkeeping/spreadsheet video on how you calculate/keep track of all your sales! At least tips/tricks on what important criteria to report so it's easier during tax time and in general to make sure you're being profitable. Would love to see a video on this! :D Love your videos and all the content you provide!
I actually started with pop up artist markets and am now selling on posh mark as well! It’s a lot of slugging but so so much fun and amazing energy. I highly recommend pop up shops. Finding little boho cafes to pop up at are great too!
Reselling is a lot of work, and I think people don’t understand that because they aren’t in our position to know.. resellers usually work by themselves with no one else to help them.. when you work in an office, a company, retail, etc... , you are working for someone else and you have a specific position within that job, so not everything falls on you.. I am 49 years old with three teenagers and a husband, so it’s even more difficult when you have a big family because now you have more responsibilities and you have to divide your time between work and your family.. trust me, it isn’t easy!.. people think that reselling is easy breezy, and I think that is why so many people have jumped in to the reselling community!
Funny how people’s closets are so different! I love to sell dresses and they sell great for me! And shoes! I hate shirts and pants, they always take longer to sell for me!
Barely starting this video but soooo glad you posted this! I love your content - especially all the tips and thrift hauls you post. You've inspired me to put more work into my poshmark closet! Thanks for all you do 💗
I purchased the Photo Booth about a year ago. I have finally taken it down and do not use it anymore. I’d be interested to see your experience. It was really great in theory and expensive. Or use an iPhone and I figured it was a problem with my phone, but the lights are not color balanced to daylight in my experience. I had a lot of trouble getting real colors. I ended up moving to natural light and just purchased a new light set I’m trying out. Please do a video on your experience. I just had a year of frustration with mine.
I want to hear more about the recycled Ecco (?) plastic bags you mentioned in the video. I will keep my eyes out for a video about them if you decide to make that video. :)
Your hair is gorgeous! It looks so shiny and soft. Please share which conditioner and products you use on your hair. My hair is so dry. Thanks for all the great videos!
Yes PLEASE to the Peloton video! I have been doing spin classes for years now and am feeling burnt out on GETTING myself to the studio for the classes. Have always wondered if having the bike at home would be a good idea or the worst ever. lol!
If you take the weekends off, when do you go to estate sales? Fridays? i dont really take days off, and thats bad i know. But the weekends are when i buy because thats when the estate sales are ...
I usually go during the week when they start. If something falls on the weekend and I want to go/work then I will just take a different day off during the week.
Empty Hanger oh ok, that makes sense:) the estate sales around me are only weekends so that’s why I was confused lol thanks for answering me back on that!
New subbie here !! I’d love love to see how to organize all your products ! Do wholesale here and I’m struggling! Thank you so much for your great advice ! Your so inspiring ! Exactly the kind of positive that i needed ❤️
I started selling on Poshmark a few months ago but right now I’m just listing my own stuff that I don’t wear anymore. I’m hoping to make it my full-time job 😀 and create my unique closet style as well. Thanks for all the useful tips. ❤️
Love your videos and instagram. That photo studio is pricey but sounds amazing! Especially for those of us who have awful natural light in certain seasons. Please do a review on it after a little while!
I love your necklace! you look really pretty today. Thanks for all the great information, hearing your routine is really helpful. I an new at this and working on my routine, pictures are challenging for me. Sometimes they come out great and then other times they come out with a pink or blue background even though I am using the same lights and background.
Thanks Karen! Yes the item color can sometimes change the overall look of the photo. It can be frustrating. I don’t have a quick fix for it other than using an editing app after you take the photo.
you seem soo chilled :) how do you handle returns? how many returns do you get/ is it frustrating or do you handle it like a routine thing?? and what happens with the orders when you are on longer vacations? do you have a person taking care of them? p.s. love your cushions & the set up!
Thanks! Returns don’t happen very often because I try to describe the item as accurately as possible and the way a return gets approved on Poshmark is if the item is not as described. If I’m gone a longer amount of time I do delayed shipping and just let my buyers know!
I live in Vegas but I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area, the have a lot of artisan flea markets in SF I think San Francisco residents would loveeeee your style :) If you ever need a tour guide lmk :)
1 year ago You motivated me to start Poshmark. 1Year later you still motivate me to keep going. Thank you for bd so Open and helpful. ❤️@Taylorfamily17
With a curated closet, when you come across high-end designer labels do you pass them up if they don't match with your closet? Or do you purchase them and send to ThreadUp or RealReal? I have thought about going toward a more curated closet, but I can't pass up high-end designers!
High end designer doesn’t typically sell that well for me unless it fits my style. So yes I usually pass. But it’s not that often I find a lot of high end.
Totally agree with taking a couple of days off per week. I’m a full time seller and have started renovations at our lake house two states over. Since we’ve been leaving every Friday night, I created a sign post for my closet explaining any purchases made after 8 pm on fridays will be shipped Monday morning. I absolutely am more motivated on weekdays, and It’s so nice to not have to list or package and concentrate on our renovation. @allhungup
Another informative video! Thank you! I have a question- did you feel strange your first time vlogging while thrifting? I want to try it but I feel like people will just stare at me😀
Thank you! Yes and sometimes I still find it strange. But if you think about it you will most likely never see those people again so who cares. Maybe go with a friend or family member and it might make you more comfortable having someone around you know! I say just go for it!
I’m also confused about prices and all. I sent out a lot of offer and for closet clear out I had to drop my stuff super low because posh didn’t allow me to choose. I need to figure this out and create a system. That would be a helpful video !!
Hi! Ty so much for sharing... I am new and feel like I'm floundering, as far as really knowing the PM app and basics..I've watched countless videos on UA-cam, but is there just like a basic abc video somewhere to explain the PM app. I keep feeling like I am missing something. I'm in love with reselling and want desperately to be good at it! Thanks so much!
I'm just getting my closet started. I feel a little bit intimidated by just how many other people are selling and I get a twinge every now and then that there's not anymore room for my closet. Have you ever felt that way?
Not really. I don’t really think about other sellers or “competition”. I just focus on my business. I think there are way more buyers out there than sellers so there is plenty to go around.
I just started 3 weeks ago & have sold 10 items so far which Im excited about. I want to try & focus on plus size clothing & keeping my items $45 or less...do you think that is okay or do you think it will hurt? Also, when do you remove the items when they are Sold Out?
Great video! Thanks for the information. I currently am selling my own items on Poshmark and Mercari but I want to branch into turning it into a side hustle to bring in more income. Do you have recommendations for how to start a business on the legal side of things? Like do you have a business licence, EIN, etc. Or do you know where I could find someone to help with that? I'm actually from Atlanta as well and I think I just want to be able to see someone one-on-one to explain everything and help me set everything up. I just don't know where to start or who I should look for. 🤷🏾♀️
Hi! I definitely recommend meeting with an accountant! They can help you decide the best route based on your situation and steer you in the right direction as far as licensing and filing! I wish you the best of luck!
Did you know that someone else has created a second (and third) closet for you? They're called emptyhangerkids and emptyhangerhome. The kids closet is even using your logo!
I thrifted a gorgeous, unusual blouse that looks like it sells only in England. How do you list unusual items that aren’t mainstream in the US? I would like to get a fair price, of course.
I hope you don't mind if I ask a not-directly-related question on your video, feel free to delete if so, I'm just not sure where else to ask! This is to anyone who schedules package pickup. I'm a new seller and every time I've tried to schedule a package pickup (usually for the next day) I have a lot of trouble getting it to go through successfully. It hangs on the "processing" screen and never accepts. I do it from my phone and have tried multiple browsers, and the app. The app gives me an error message instead. Eventually I usually get it to go through but it takes so many tries, sometimes too late to be picked up next day anymore. I thought maybe I was just scheduling too late when servers were busy but I tried much earlier this time and still having problems. Has anyone else come across this, and what worked for you? I don't drive so I really was relying on this service for efficient shipping.
I send Offers To Liker’s within 10-15 mins or so. I figure they’re on now, they’re shopping now, so I’m going to grab them now. Lol I just sold another pair of shoes through OTL. ;)
This is driving me crazy. Its a question from another one of your recent videos, what was the app you were using when writing on your Ipad? Did you say it somehow connected to your inventory system or am I delusional.
I just started and it’s a bit scary....all these things I need and I have small space etc ... still don’t know about brands and I always thought Poshmark was all about brands... how do I get to know trends ??
Empty Hanger thats what I do is keep it togeather ... I didn’t know if I was hurting myself. I have been selling on posh for 4 weeks and sold 1 thing starting to wonder if it’s worth my time. I have been on eBay for 8 months
Hi - love the Q & A videos with all the PM tips. Thank you! I had a question (maybe for next time unless you want to answer here) in regards to Pinterest - when I "share" my PM items to Pinterest it grabs the first three photos and includes them in the listing. I noticed on your Pinterest page that you only have one photo per item (which to me looks much cleaner and that is what I'd like my page to look like ) However I cannot seem to figure out how to only have Pinterest use a single photo. Do you load one image to PM first, then share to Pinterest then go back and add the rest of the photos to your PM listing? That seems exhausting. Any tips you (or anyone else on here) have would be appreciated!
Hi, I think what you need to do is install the pinterest "pin it" button to your browser if you're on a lap top. Then when you get on PM you will see a little pinterest logo button in the top corner of each listing's photo and you can click that and it will let you share it to your pinterest page. That should let you just share only the exact images you want to.
I just received my Huge light box also mines is by Havox, I just made the investment early I’m sure I will make the money back. It was $430 I missed it when it was $339+tax I didn’t know it was that big, but I Run my business out of my garage So it’s fine.

You are right about dropping prices-- its not only a pain in the neck but it almost never results in sales. And yes, you are right, when you start to lower your prices, people keep expecting you to go even lower.

Love your hair!!
Hi Jenna, why are you changing your background? Just wondering. Thanks
I’ve been reselling since 2012 and I have so been shamed in a thrift shop for reselling usually little old ladies 😑
Aw sorry you had to experience that!
Empty Hanger it’s all good, luckily it’s 2020 now and it’s not a surprise to resale😉💗
I send Offers To Liker’s within 10-15 mins or so. I figure they’re on now, they’re shopping now, so I’m going to grab them now. Lol I just sold another pair of shoes through OTL. ;)
I found a dime in a purse once...🤷🏼♀️🙃
I actually Jack up the price and it sells who knew..

do you use magazines, blogs,IG accounts to stay on top of trends?
Mostly Instagram and also occasionally Pinterest!
if you ever sell at a flea market, im coming visit! also you look GORGEOUS here!
Thank you!
Love your necklace. I always wear chunky jewelry. Dainty stuff I break in a day.
Thank you! Estate sale find!
Is it worth separating boutique from your regular Poshmark store?
I like to keep it together so shoppers can bundle!
Empty Hanger thats what I do is keep it togeather ... I didn’t know if I was hurting myself. I have been selling on posh for 4 weeks and sold 1 thing starting to wonder if it’s worth my time. I have been on eBay for 8 months

Hi, I think what you need to do is install the pinterest "pin it" button to your browser if you're on a lap top.
