I wanted to say thank you so much for your wonderful video! This was the best video to learn how to tackle pruning my ficus from. You managed to answer every question I had in one video. Thank you thank you 🙏
I'm so glad that this video answered all your questions.
Great video. I found an abandoned Ficus tree and needed help with pruning. Thank you!
This video was absolutely brilliant. I have a mature, healthy ficus benjamina that desparately needs pruning to restore an upright shape (similar to your plant's original state). You did a wonderful job explaining the method behind proper pruning and demonstrating it all. I'm a lot more confident in proceeding with my attempt now. Time to get some sheets, sterilize the shears, wear long-sleeved shirt and get started! Thank you! 🤞😀 (and I've got enough for cuttings, too and I love the idea of giving some to family).
I prune mine every other year and have given away at least 30 plants made from the pruned cuttings.
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing!!!❤
what a beautiful video. I enjoyed watching it! thank you so much!
Great video! Thanks again😀
Thank you never knew they could grow so well perfect !
Thank you!!!🎉😊

Glad that my video was helpful to you!
Thank you very much!!! this is a wonderful video. Please keep doing more videos with plants :)
Thank you, I will😄
I never knew we could propagate benjamina ficus from cuttings. I'll try this. Thank you.
You cab propagate almost all of the houseplants. In fact they all need to be moved to bigger pots sooner or later.
Thank you so much! This was so helpful. I was ready to throw mine out but I'm happy I didn't. I'll try again and give it some more love. Let's see how he'll do! Thanks again
Amazing! That ficus is lucky to have you :)
Thank you for such a lovely comment.!
Thank you. ❤️
You are so welcome
Very well done video, helped me where other videos failed. thank you
Thanks! Glad that it was hellpful to you!
Thank you so much. I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy one of these so I took a look around the web and UA-cam and found your video. You’ve made me realize it isn’t too hard to cut back to size and keep it manageable and even get some pieces to propagate for friends and family in the process. :) Imo the repotting made such a big difference! (And the pruning of course.☺️) great job!! You have a beautiful ficus! Thanks for the video.
Glad I could help! Cheers!😀
She is beautiful 😻!
Oh yes, I love her!
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you
You're welcome😃
Thank you for your video! We adopted a ficus tree from neighbors that were moving away. It's time to prune it and we had no clue how to do it. Now we know how thanks to you! :)
Wonderful! After pruning and maybe transplanting, you will see the positive change in your plants health!😃
Good effort!
Thank you dear!❤❤❤
Very good explanation. You are amazing.🌟
Thanks you very muvh!
You gave your tree a nice haircut. Lol I didn’t know you could propagate the cuttings. Thank you!
I have given away more than 30 plants from these propaged cuttings.
Excellent video, thank you so much! I was gifted my first Ficus Benjamina a few months ago and it is very large, unruly, and top-heavy. This is helping me work up the courage to prune! 🥰
I hope you were able to prune your plant and bring back it's beauty.
Thanks so much. I was reluctant to prune my busy FB. I think I will add a braid or two
Pruning helps to keep FB healthy.
211 Like great detail video this what I need to do with my ficus it need help badly , it 14 years old plant and not looking to good for so many years, with your video I am it will get better. Greeting from USA great channel
Thanks dear!
I had no clue about maintaining this plant. I had a very a beautiful Ficus plant, but it died. It just makes me very sad :/ i wish it grows back again, but that doesn't seem possible. I'm buying a new ficus plant. I will do everything to make it beautiful. I'll be visiting your channel often to learn. Thanks for all the help
Wow, it's a bigger ficus I love it, and I subscribe to your UA-cam channel already 👍 😀 😊
Thanks!
Very nice, thank you. My ficus looks like yours before pruning, only it's even taller.
That's great!😃
I have a small one, only about a meter tall, can't wait til it grows huge like this one 😍
I am sure, with love and care, your plant will grow really big as you want it to. Make sure to prune it periodically and repot it as and when needed. You can check my other video about repotting of the same plant. 😄
@@DIYHomeofMine oh it's nowhere near ready to be repotted, but thank you 😁
👍👍👍👍👍👌
I love how she keeps correcting herself. Plant, tree plant. They are all correct lol.
How often do you water?
Benjamin bro is getting a hair cut 😂
Lovely video...very informative 👌🏻💯
Thank you 😀. Glad you like it.
Hi from England my friend . I just done a video about this plant today . How big is your ficus Benjamina. Looks so beautiful friend. . I can see that you love the plant.
Hello from Canada! My plant is more than 6 feet tall. ( a little less than 7 feet), Yes, you are right, I love all my plants very much! You can say that I am a plant mom.😊
Great video and thanks for all the valuable info. How often do you water it?
Just water it, when the top layer of the soil is dry. I don't evern regularly fertilize mine, but you can fertilize it every few months with liquild fertilizer meant for indoor plants.
Should I brune it now in the winter or should I wait till spring please help thank you
That is many Benjamina planted together.
Yes, seems like it.
Do you have a video on your weeping fig care? I’m struggling with mine!
I don't have a care video, but this plant needs very little care. Just water it, when the top layer of the soil is dry. Prune it every other year or when ever you feel it is being unruly. I don't evern regularly fertilize mine, but you can fertilize it every few months with liquild fertilizer meant for indoor plants.
Your ficus is very beautiful, I like it. My ficus needs something, the leaves have fallen off and it is cold, I no longer know how to help it.
Is is indoors or outdoors?
wonderful work
Few months only, before it became fuller. If you check the other related video, it will tell about the time it took to repot. (it's about 5 hours).
@@DIYHomeofMine thank u so much
I was afraid to cut it because I thought it would die.pruning I mean
Air layering branches is much faster..........
I was wondering if we can prune from the top to give the tree more like fuller look
You can prune the plant howevery way you like.
Hey, I bought a large ficus Benjamin about 6 months ago which was thriving but since 4 weeks it’s losing all its leaves. So I’ll prune it short this week I guess, but not sure if I should repot it as well. It’s still in the original pot but feels like it’ll go bold if I repot it 😅 what do you reckon?
In my opinion, your plant could be root bound and needs to be re potted. And also don't over water it. Water it only when the top one inch layer of the soil in pot is dry to touch. Usually indoor plants don't like overwatering. You can also check out my other video about repotting process of the same plant. ua-cam.com/video/4NEMQ0F-uv0/v-deo.html
I hope it helps. Let me know if you are able to solve the issue.
How do you know how much water to give
What fertiliser for a young ficus is liquid ok or do you recommend organic ,thanks
Don't overfertilize it, especially youung plant. I fertilize my plants very spareingly. Just water them regularly and keep them properly pruned.
nice plant, where did you get it from?
Thank you Monisha! If you watch the video again, you will get to know where it came from.😀
@@DIYHomeofMine yes I saw the other video and got to know about it 😊
I have a ficus tree which is older than me. 30+ years old. I have repotted it about 5 years ago and it flourished with leaves. It has since lost a ton of leaves. What should I do?
It does loose leaves, that's called life cycle. Then also it gets new leaves. If it's been 5 years since you repotted your plant, may be it's time to repot again. You can also prune the roots while repotting the plant. I hope it helps.
Can the tree thrive indoors with skylight?
Yes, my tree always stays indoors. I😃
Where do you live can I take that tree from you ?
I would have learned more if I could have clearly seen each cut so I understood better what to do. Many cuts were made out of sight of the camera or sped up.
I didn't lear much I'm afraid.
Sorry to hear that. When you are one person army doing everything by yourlself, it gets difficult to capture all the right angles.
Thanks
