Leaking Parapet Walls with New Coping Stones Bad wall pointing

With all the rain this year, water penetration through parapet walls has been one of the most common complaints we have had to deal with.
Porous brickwork in parapet walls, especially old parapet walls that need re-pointing, are commonly neglected.
When replacing a flat roof or any roof for that matter, the flashings terminate into the wall, a good watertight wall is essential. In this video I encapsulate the wall with a liquid roofing system. The liquid roofing system is flexible, even in sub-zero temperatures, thus allowing for expansion and contraction of the different materials surrounding it.
Often parapet walls have deteriorated so much, the cost to re-point or re-build them is not worth it, encapsulating them then becomes an option worth looking at. Obviously if the wall is on a listed building or is in direct view, you should always consider that the wall will look completely different when coated.

The double tile sill below the coping stone, no drip groove so still potential problems.

I did something similar with Thompsons 10 year roof seal onto the parapet wall mortar of my flat roof- so far so good.

Yes, we have used that in the past. It works for a period but needs topping up every so often.

Unfortunately, no, however, there are a lot of a products out there and they're all good, they just need to be laid correctly

I'd use cromapol or something similar, used it in the past and stopped the water dead in its tracks
