Improvising a permanent solution that works is most satisfying. Than You for explaining and then showing how you are doing the coping stones. Excellent work as always!

Great to see you’re still ‘coping’. First class, thank you.

Invest in a pair of safety glasses, especially when using a grinder with no guard fitted. Safety first or you might regret it.

Once again. Excellent job. I wish I had seen this last year could have saved a lot of money on precast stone once weathered coping stones on my orangery build.

I watched 24 hours in a&e the other day, the chap had a cut 1 cm deep cut in his face that spanned across his cheek and beside his nose, luckily missing his eyes and the main artery, as a few have already mentioned, Safety goggles.

May be better if the last slab was not cut. I would have ended with a full slab and moved the cut somewhere else. Also maybe set slabs so the run-off is only one way, best onto the roof as I doubt there is a gutter on the far side.

Those slabs were definitely the answer here. 👍

great stuff, thinking outside of the box, and still making it look sweet. good idea as material shortage, plus nice cost difference

Good solution. Building supplies must be rather critical there!

Molten slab in your eyes feels mildly unpleasant. Wear safety goggles.

    As usual clever solution!
Don’t really understand how the flashing is going to work . Looking forward to watching

Great job. 👏🏻👏🏻 Interesting how you place what I think is slate over the cavity, followed by a membrane. Question: (I can’t tell from the camera angle) Did you pitch the cement capping stones towards the roof? Assuming a slight pitch so the rain doesn’t pool or run down towards the neighbors next door.

Do you just cut the dpc in line with brick edge or leave a little overhang.

Lose your eye sight, then we can’t watch your excellent vids!! Please family, safety goggles. I’ve seen it happen. Good job by the way!

Hi mate is it a good idea to lap the dpm over the cavity

Timely, I looked up at my parapet this morning and saw a tree growing out of it, that'll require a reset in the late autumn rainshine then . . .

Regs is dpc lapped into roof membrane min 150mm above roof, yours looks 75mm

Could you not use inslated cavity closers here, then DPC over that and then coping? I like your work ethic all the same, keep it going.

I guess so but it does need to be rigged and slate is a better choice I believe

That's what I done . Then a cavity tray and then instead of flashing I put rubber roof up and over and connected it to the cavity tray so it cant fail

    Does cement stick to DPC?
