Thanks! One of these days I may get around to putting in a kick cam. lol I've been around still, just haven't put up any reactions since one of the computers I use to do them pretty much died. Once I get a piece replaced and working again, I'll be back. Enjoy the weekly covers until then!
Great job Brian, well played. That's a serious kit you have there, you have a bunch of rack toms, I don't think I have seen that many as a permanent setup. I think Barone uses his second China symbol more in the live versions of Monochrome, but then he plays it very differently than the studio version, which is likely not him anyway, so the song is open for interpretation. Since you did a bit of a hybrid of the live and studio versions you would have had to make some choices around that, I am guessing. Do you play more jazz or Latin influenced? Your strike and attack on the kit look really well-suited to those genres. Anyway, that was five minutes of my time well spent.
Thanks! When I first built my kit, and started adding to it YEARS ago, I wanted to base if off Mike Portnoy's, of Dream Theater (My fav band) "Purple Monster". It's evolved over time and I've always had 3 racks and 1 floor. When I upgraded my shells a few years back, I added a 2nd Floor so total of 3 racks, and 2 Floors. As for influence...if I have to pick between those two, I guess it would be more Jazz, though I've never played drums in any Jazz setting. My Jazz influence comes from years of playing trumpet in a Jazz Ensemble through High School and College...again, YEARS ago. To be honest, until I started posting covers with multiple camera angles, I never noticed some of my attack angles, especially on my right side with the twisting of my wrist some times. I dunno if that's just bad habit or a way to compensate for being short on a large kit. LOL. I know I have to sit closer to the set than I'd truly like because I have such short, legs. LOL
Hope you enjoy my little cover. I enjoyed playing it!
I've been waiting for the Monochrome cover!

I’ve watched your streams so many times if it’s related BabyMetal, but I didn’t know that you can play drums well. Very cool!!!
