Been drumming for almost 50 years and Junna is one of the most inspirational drummers I've ever seen! Her facial expressions and mannerisms are choreographed like a dance and add a whole other layer. This is definitely the most entertaining drummer I ever have seen or heard in my whole life! (And I'm an old guy who saw Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker, Ian Paice, Jon Hiseman and many others live back in those days...). She ist technically on an upper level, right? She puts an enormous amount of energy, passion and musicality in her performance right? And her showmanship? Also a boomer 😂. Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I had little interest in drums. Came to UA-cam looking for probably the only drummer I care enough for to even use an Alphabet related site-Danny Carey (Vic Firth posted a drum cam vid of Pneuma) and discovered the world of reaction vids. Thanks for your reply!😀 Yes, we have similar experiences and I feel some need to give some comment on that - I try to keep it as short as possible, promised! In my youth when I played guitar in a rock band (very very small scale though...) I was a huge Cream fan - Eric was my guitar hero. And as I wrote I attended lots of rock concerts and festivals. I even was on Jimi Hendrix' second last appearance on an festival on the isle of Fehmarn Germany. Just a few weeks later he died on the Isle of White (if I remember right). So, at that time I was pretty deep in the "rock music world". Later, life took me in other directions and I didn't walk along with all this "hellish" dark metal stuff. I think with Black Sabbath my distance to that type of music started. I liked Deep Purple, a bit of Led Zeppelin too - but I really liked Mountain - "the most underrated rock band" as some commentators wrote on various Mountain videos on UA-cam. Mountain was so much more than just their hit Mississipi Queen ....! Anyway, It took many years and the damn Covid time for me to discover the absolutely amazing female rock and metal scene in Japan - and this incredible skill level they have. It aren't of course not just the drummers - it's all (!) instruments. Senri Kawaguchi and Kanade Sato in the realm of Jazz Fusion drumming, Saki and Hazuki (Nemophila), Midori and Myako (Lovebites), Yuki (D_Drive) Kanami (Band-Maid) and many many more in the rock and metal guitar field - and so I could write on and on for all instruments, i.e. bass (my god there are so many absolutely stunning female bassists in Japan!!!), violin, piano and more. I just want to highlight one special person who in my opinion is absolutely unique: Miyako Watanabe from Lovebites. She plays piano on a concert level as a "virtuoso", plays metal-guitar on a absolutely professional level too (and together with Midori forms one of the best metal guitar duos in the history of metal music) and is a very skilled composer too. And last but not least very "kawaii" too ...😌 To sum up my comment now: now in my days as an "Oldie" I became a huge fan of japanese rock, metal and fusion music - especially made by those fantastic female musicians. And I had the opportunity to meet Junna in person (and had a short conversation with her with my really poor knowledge of the Japanese language) on Fate Gears European tour where she played drums as a replacement for their regular drummer. The power of JUNNA nice
The first thing I thought of when I heard this song was, "I wonder what musical monstrosity her and Marty could compose if they did a collaboration?" and then I got a big, evilly happy smile on my face at the thought.
Thank goodness! I have been waiting for a new video! 👍🏼👏🏼🥰
Another fantastic performance from the most entertaining drummer in the world!
Excellent video!!!
Spectacular as usual! Great original track. Hope to hear some more. \m/
Let alone her skills, the song is fire also!
