  • Long term review of the Paragon Truck Bed Cover for Honda Ridgeline Gen 2.
    Purchased this bed cover over 1 year ago, and have been using it ever since.
    It has held up great, and have had no real issues ever since.
    Great quality, made in USA, creates secure storage, lockable, made from solid aluminum, easy install, and no drill install on the Honda Ridgeline.
    Took about an hour to install by myself. I suggest you have at least two people to install it. It will be much quicker and easier, but can be done by one person if needed.
    This review is not paid by Peragon and is not associated with Peragon or Honda in anyway.
    Just my personal opinion and review of the product.

    I have a 22 Ridgeline and after a lot of research and I ended up going with the Peragon. I am sooo happy that you did a picture of how the trunk opens with the rails in place. That was a major worry of mine but you’ve settled those worries. And you are right about their customer service. I found out that they had a veterans discount after I bought the classic but was able to upgrade to the platinum and get the discount just by emailing them and asking. It did push my ship time back a bit but that is ok.

    Yo! Thanks for posting. You didn't say what you paid for it but I don't like that I would have to pull out my key every time. I had the 1st generation Ridgeline and a Bakflip cover. What I liked about that cover was all I had to do was unlock the car with my fob (had the pop and lock on the tailgate) and I could access my bed. Don't have to pull out a key to unlock every time!

      Dean Eng yeah that’s convenient. I wanted something more. Than hard foam. It was right around 800 with the dual deadbolt system. Plus can easily remote the cover completely with 3 clicks when it’s open. The bakflip is good. It was really a decision between the peragon and the bakflip.

    Nice truck and nice cover, but seems to have issues. I saw a review of the OEM cover and it was easy on, easy off, with no water leakage, and no issues what so ever. Sometimes it's best to stick with OEM, even if it cost a little more. Good luck!

    • @4thewinak
      @4thewinak  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately in the south we don't get much snow so I cannot comment on that. If the cover is installed properly it doesn't rattle much; I mean I don't hear or see it rattle. at high way speeds if you look back you can sometimes see some flex on the panels, but that's when the wind is strong. other than that. No rattling experience on my end.

    Just got mine for my 2019 Ridgline and I had quite a hard time making the cover slide without too much friction. Customer service was great after contacting them and showing them my video to troubleshoot. How much washer spacing did you have to use to make it close smoothly? I will make my final adjustment after 48 hours with the cover closed.

      It's the best tunneau cover out there unless you found that cargo height is too limited for your tastes and you need something more in the line of a "camper" shell. The seal issues are extremely minor and can be easily rectified.

    • @4thewinak
      @4thewinak  4 роки тому +3

      Held up good so far. No real issues. Same gripes i had originally still exist: (1) the edge of the foam being torn from opening and closing, (2) the little foam piece to prevent water coming in near the logo which was just bad to being with is missing; Not a big issue since it wasn't a major issue and you can just put some 3m extreme sticky tape in that spot, it works better anyways. There isn't really much that can go wrong with it. It's stamped aluminum. The only things that can really wear out is the foam, or the roller/glide wheels on the panels which i would think you probably have to open and close it about 20 times a day for the next few decades for those to wear out.
      I did have one new issue where they use the long screws on the guide rails where the panels go up. the long bolts you see here: www.peragon.com/wp-content/themes/peragon/images/build/header.hero.jpg . I think people should cut them to length once they have installed them and know what length they need. Otherwise they always get in the way of loading up on sheet goods. meaning, about 3 or 4 sheet goods are good fit right under, but if you are trying to load anymore, the bolts seem to be in the way. if you cut it to length and installed it again to be flush with the rail, it would be ideal.

      @@lancecrane10 He was pretty clumsy grinding the spinning rivet heads off with the wrong tool for sure and damaged the powder coat. A ball burr on a dremel or a small ball burr on a pneumatic grinder would have been much safer. The rest is simply bolting on the new one. The rivets looked skimpy enough to have been pin punched out, with a bucking bar on the other side to prevent bending.

    • @jpeterman57
      @jpeterman57 3 роки тому +1

      This cover may help improve mileage slightly as some people claim but I'm skeptical. Wind tunnel tests have proven trucks will get better mpg with the tailgate UP because with the gate down the slipstream bends sharply downward to the bed and then aft. This is not aerodynamically efficient. With the gate up, a circular rolling wind bubble, called a burble, forms over the bed and the slip stream coming over the roof is kept pushed up some so it starts bending smoothly down behind a raised gate at highway speeds. The cover would seem to keep that burble from forming and the slipstream may get bent slightly on the average truck. The G2 Ridgeline has a short bed and an extended rear roof edge that acts as a fairing. Those features may make any drag considerations moot. I'll find out soon since I have one on order.

      If it does, It's not noticeable. Well on highway speeds, you can look out the mirror and see some flexing of the cover (but not rattling). If the cover is down/folded, it'll rattle.
