VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this video, Justin and Jess take viewers on an in-depth tour of their small travel trailer, which they’ve customized to support their full-time nomadic lifestyle. This video is perfect for anyone considering the purchase of a small travel trailer or for those who are already on the road and looking to optimize their living space. Justin and Jess share their experiences of transitioning from a traditional home to a 17-foot travel trailer, offering valuable insights and tips for making the most of a compact living space.
Kitchen and Cooking Setup
Justin and Jess emphasize the importance of cooking their own meals while on the road, especially since they often travel to remote locations where stores and restaurants are scarce. Their small but efficient kitchen features a flip-up faucet sink, a two-burner stove with a glass lid, and a compact air fryer that handles the majority of their cooking needs. They discuss how they manage with limited storage by creatively utilizing every inch of space, from overhead cabinets for cereals and spices to under-counter drawers for dry goods.
Living and Sleeping Area
The trailer’s living area is a multifunctional space that serves as a bedroom, workspace, and lounge. Justin and Jess explain how they maximize this space by converting their benches into a queen-sized bed at night, and during the day, the area transforms into a cozy spot for work or relaxation. They highlight the importance of dual-purpose furniture and smart storage solutions to keep their tiny home organized and comfortable.
Bathroom and Shower
In the bathroom, the couple makes the most of the small space with a marine RV toilet and a wet bath setup. They talk about how they manage their water usage with a three-gallon water heater and the convenience of having both indoor and outdoor shower options. Their practical approach to hygiene on the road includes tips for showering efficiently and maintaining comfort without the need for constant hookups to external water sources.
Off-Road Capabilities and Storage
One of the standout features of their trailer is its off-road capability, which allows Justin and Jess to explore rugged terrains and enjoy dispersed camping. They showcase the beefy tires, high suspension, and the innovative Caravan movers that allow them to steer the trailer with a remote control. This feature gives them the freedom to position their trailer for the best views and privacy, even in tight or challenging spots. Additionally, they discuss the trailer’s ample storage options, both inside and out, ensuring that all their essentials are within easy reach.
Transition to Full-Time Travel
Justin and Jess share their journey from corporate life to full-time travel, explaining how their blog, Uprooted Traveler, became a catalyst for their new lifestyle. They offer encouragement to others considering a similar transition, emphasizing the importance of giving oneself grace and the rewards of embracing the unknown. Their story is a testament to the fulfilling experiences that come with living on the road, exploring new places, and making lasting memories.
Conclusion
In this video, viewers will not only get a detailed tour of Justin and Jess's travel trailer but also gain inspiration for living a simpler, more adventurous life on the road. Whether you’re looking to buy your first travel trailer or seeking tips to enhance your current setup, this video provides a wealth of information from a couple who have mastered the art of tiny living. Love the trailer. Went to the RV place in Abbotsford to check on out. On our list as a potential candidate to buy later. Where did you find that metal drawer thing with the hinged drawers you use for the spice rack??
I love the remote controle feature.
Us too. We seriously can't imagine having another trailer without it. It makes everything easier from leveling the trailer to hitching up. 👌
Appreciate the vid; I recall when you first got this TT. Similar floor plan as the Tab 400; i was checking out this brand and purchased a Tab 320 as a second TT and our other TT is mid size couples TT by Grand Design. I would have a second portable fridge. And thankfully the rear of of the rig has more space then the Tab 400; oh and no excuse not to have dinner together lol You left the 9 to 5 so you can make it happen in 85 sqft lol.. love the move ability with those motors that connect to the wheels etc..Great Vid 🏁🌅
We're pretty impressed with the space considering the small size.
I feel like we're doing life backwards sometimes 😅. It's certainly unconventional, but we're living our dream.
Thanks for watching!
This is such a cute house with so much to offer I think it is awesome being able to move the trailer with a remote
Those caravan movers have gotten us out of some sticky situations too! We've been trapped on single lane forest roads and we can just unhook the trailer, drive the car on the other side of it, turn the trailer on a dime and pull away! Saves us from having to back up for a mile 😅
@JustinandJess that is awesome especially for someone like me I have one direction when pulling a trailer and that is forward
happy trails-you two seem to complement one another
We are very lucky that we are so compatible. It definitely helps in you spend 24 hours together in such a small space 😅
So cute and perfect for me❤ I want one!
This is a really great little trailer home on wheels and it is
enough room for two people, have a great week thanks.
🚌👋🇺🇲
I don't know, I guess I don't get it, but maybe you guys do this or maybe you don't, but like you said, with the blog that you do gives you enough to be a nomad . Having the blog, patrons, receiving money through people and through your UA-cam channel you get to enjoy life. Life is short, that's absolutely true, I imagine a lot of people want to do what you do, maybe they have kids and other circumstances that they put a block on that dream. I can't understand how can people can contribute to watch other having the life that they want to have. Anywho, good for you guys to give such a support.
Those income streams are a little more complicated than you may think. It's not just people giving them money.
Hey, thanks for watching. We're very fortunate to run a successful blog that allows us to live the life we want to. Fortunately, we've never had to ask for money or donations (in fact, there's no way you can send us money). Instead, we just create high quality travel advice via written blogs and videos and get paid from ad revenue when people read or watch the content that we provide for free.
Thanks for watching our video. Let us know if you have any questions for us!
Oh nice .. Good luck 👍
Thankyou for sharing BUT im EXTREMELY claustrophobic im so sorry ~ STAY SAFE on your travels 😊
We don't blame you! Living with another person in 85sqft. isn't for everyone! 😂 Thanks for watching
Tiny Home Tours, cool content my guy
Great video! Thank you two so much ❤
This trailer looks pretty cool! Tiny but so practicle!
It's really got it all! Well, maybe not an oven, but you should see how "creative" we can get with an air fryer. We made a pumpkin pie in it last Thanksgiving 🙃🥧
@@JustinandJess wow, sound delicious!😋
Sierra Nevada in the fridge is a must! Good man
I absolutely love this ….. I could see my wife and I enjoying something like this .
I love this!!!
These guys are the real deal! What a great segment.
Thanks! Working with the Tiny Home Tours team was very impressive too! They've really got it all figured out. We love this channel!
WOW, thats a penthouse, remote drive Amazing seems like a fantastic travel trailer:) Im down to the new 2025 Nu camp with full size fridge and off road package or the XT east to West trailer with island full time bed.
Love love love your tiny camper❣️❣️❣️ I didn't catch the name of it and where you can purchase it.
Safari Condo is the company , made in Quebec they’re called Alto’s making 5 or 6 different trailers , all aluminum, no wood and probably the lightest on the market with the living conditions. Towable by most cars . Not inexpensive but worth it .
What a great little trailer! Want something like this 2 B able to go places. My current RV is way 2 big 4 convenient traveling!
Same here. We have a class c but it's a Pia getting into our favorite moochdocking spots.
I want something like this we can tow behind our LR4
Cool place! Nice couple! Fun!
Wow😮. I couldn’t do that.
Good you’re enjoying it.😊
Nice job!
Happy Trails 🎉
JO JO IN VT 💞
Amazing video, you work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K into trading from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires
Waking up every 14th of each month to $210,000 it's a blessing to I and my family... Big gratitude to Ann Marie strunk🙌🏼
Hello, I am very interested. As you know, there are tons of investments out there and without solid knowledge, I can't decide what is best. Can you explain further how you invest and earn?
Same, I operate a wide- range of Investments with help from My Financial Adviser. My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills. For the record, working with Ann Marie strunk, has been an amazing experience.
Hello how do you make such monthly?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God
I'm favoured, $90K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America,, all thanks to Ms Ann Marie strunk😊
Very nice, I have a couple of questions. How do you deal with the Key West heat without AC? Why the Safari Alto instead of a Little Guy Max or a Nucamp Tab 400? Can you remove the toilet and replace with a composting?
1. We started in Key West in January so the temperatures were perfect!
2. The Alto Expedition is 2,500lbs and can be towed by our midsize SUV (Highlander Hybrid). The other two models you mentioned are about 500lbs heavier (dry)
3. I don't know specifically if the toilet can be removed, but I do know that Safari Condo installs cassette toilets in their trailers that are sent to Australia, so I can't imagine it'd be impossible.
It's only fault is the fridge size. If you are out in the boonies stores are pretty scarce.😢
What I wouldn’t give to do this…..
Let us know if you have any questions! We see every type of traveler on the road from singles to big families, inexpensive to fancy rigs, people who work remote tech jobs and those that find work as they travel... it's definitely becoming a lot easier to live in the road.
Thanks for watching!
They didn't tell us how much it cost.
Prices start at $56,299 USD for model year 2025.
No single axle can be considered "off-road capable", obviously.
"as economically as possible" -says while literally using a paper plate 🙄
Must be trust fund babies. Real people their age have to work for a living 🙄
First off, thanks for watching. We both grew up in lower middle class families. Neither of us have received a dime from our relatives. We've worked really hard for the past 10 years, most times working 80 to 100 hour weeks to chase our goals. We sacrifice many conveniences and live way below our means so we can design the life we want to live. If you want to know more, we'd be happy to answer your questions. 🙂
Justin & Jess
Love what you are doing! We have the alto 1740 and enjoy that!!
I didn’t know Alto made this model: Expedition!
