Today I worked on "Palace of the Winds" by Jan Hicks, which is my year long project for 2024. So much fun watching your WIPs and listening to your lovely voice!
Great to see you this afternoon Stuart. I'm not a full coverage stitcher but I'm very tempted every time I watch you. Love your projects. The map of middle earth is going to be amazing to say nothing of the ring. Looking forward to seeing them come to life. Enjoy the retreat. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
I could listen to you all day long Stuart, I love your dry sense of humour and I am always disappointed when each flosstube ends. You are such good company. Thank you. I am working on a Bristol Red Sampler but struggle with the 32 count now even with lit magnifying glass. Hate getting older!! Enjoy the retreat.
Really enjoyed the visit Stuart and seeing your progress on your wips. The show stopper was Gypsy Queen...Wow, Absolutely Stunning!! I love all your full coverage you have shared so far and looking forward to what you pick for Haed SAL, if you do it. Hope you have a great couple of weeks with plenty of enjoyable stitching time.....bye for now, JoDee 🥰
Wow for gypsy! Absolutely beautiful! The ring pattern looks amazing! Can’t wait to see that coming together Thanks for the shout out of some Scottish flosstube I’ll give them look Enjoy your retreat!
I have never seen Gypsy stitched and man she is glorious isn’t she! ❤ I love your stitching and your bags too Stuart! I hope you’ve gotten some followers from my friends I think I’ve told at least 20 about you over and over! Have a fantastic time at the retreat and I look forward to hearing all about it😊
Gypsy Queen is absolutely stunning!!! Well done! Thank you for the information on full coverage. I have never done one before but I am thinking of doing the HAED SAL this year. The more I see the Dracula SAL being stitched, the more I want to join in. I still may yet. Happy stitching.
Made my Sunday morning waking up to a new episode…. Beautiful stitching on Gypsy. Those full coverage are something else WOW. Have fun at your retreat.
Good to see your video today. Find a place of honor in your house for Gypsy. She is so beautiful. Your color sense for fabric choices on projects is always spot on. 😊
Gypsy Queen is just beautiful!! Those colors!! (swoon!!) Currently doing some "Autumn" stitching and wrapping up some pieces for holiday gifts. I love this time of year when the leaves are all glorious and the weather is cooler.
Thank you for the shout out Stuart. Fab flosstube again , loving all your SALs. Expecially loving the guess what's in the bag part of the proceedings ❤
Love the things you stitch on. Your bags are awesome. I started my first full coverage and it is called Toil & Trouble and I am doing it on 18-count White aida 2 over 1. It has 96 colors. My fabric is 29" x 39" and it is the biggest piece of fabric I have ever worked on and I have been stitching for 50 years. I started in the upper left-hand corner and my very first color is Black 310. I started it on Halloween and I put in 150 stitches. I may never finish it in my old age but at least I can say that I am working on a full coverage piece. Happy Stitching.
I’ve been stitching a little dimensions gingerbread ornament while watching, so nothing too intense! I’m actually doing the HAED Sal, and it will be my first ever Sal, and my first full coverage 😂 I’m terrified, but I will be doing drinks on the beach! The colours were too irresistible. Love your videos as always, you have my sense of humor, and I greatly enjoy the treasure trove of bags and previous kits🎉
Stuart, you are so inspiring with your meticulous work! I so enjoy seeing all your work from here in the US and wish you continued enjoyment of your craft. Because of you I began doing cross stitch and already finished a full coverage project.
Hi Stuart, lovely to see you and your lovely stitching. I have Cardinal Kin in my rotation. It is a fun stitch and I will do both too on Belfast 32ct Vintage Storm. 👋👋🇳🇿🇳🇿 Enjoy the retreat.
Stuart, I am in awe of all your full coverage pieces. They are spectacular! I haven’t been able to work up the nerve to start a full coverage piece yet. I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on the Thomas Kinkade piece. I always loved his paintings, especially the Christmas ones.
Hi Stuart, I enjoyed your advice about starting a full coverage. The Organised Bags of Doom 😂😂😂. Arts and Design are my supplier of choice also. Wonderful serviceable very helpful. I enjoy your videos, please keep doing them. Looking forward to your discourse on the retreat. Eventually I will go on one of these. 😊
Your full coverage pieces are amazing not to mention that you are very brave and inspiring or as I call it ‘enablevision’. I look forward to see your progress on those pieces.
Haha, I started cross stitch in the 90s as my grandmother taught me when I was 7. It was my entry into lots of other crafts and has kind of spiralled out of control. I have loved seeing all your fantastic projects and am in awe of your full coverage pieces and I find it fascinating seeing you work on projects in various different methods too, the stitch and park scares me a little haha😅. Smaug looks great and I can't wait to see it all finished. Tis the season to be spooky is looking fab with those oranges. The fabric really compliments the stitching too. I absolutely adore the Sparkles fabrics, I have sooo many in my stash, as well as Polstitches too, Sparkles used to do some patterns at one point too, not sure if they still do. The mirabilia piece is gorgeous, and all those beads 😮.
Love your video Stuart. Will miss you in a fortnight as I eagerly await your videos but look forward to hearing all about the retreat. I am watching your video today in my lunch hour at the office and stitching Christmas Chums Ornaments by Janlynn which is my oldest WIP since 2017! I have FFO'D 11 of the 18 and they were on my tree last year. I have FO'D another three and I am working on a further one. They are done on A4 size pieces of plastic aida so I have finished 1 sheet and the top 6 of the second sheet. Working on one (the partridge in a wreath). Like small projects for the office! See you soon xx
Finished my own Gypsy Queen while watching this AM! Thanks for the inspiration - I'd love to see your Chatelaine.... Enjoy the retreat, and I'll look forward to the recap❤❤
So happy to see you again! I’m stitching an older Winter pattern from a 4 season set off Etsy. Almost finished! That will take me down to 2 WIPS! Isn’t that crazy? I love seeing all your Projects….opposites do attract! Have fun at your retreat. ❤
thanks so much for your floss tube. It was full of one-liners that just made me chuckle the whole way through. I really enjoyed it. I am not a HAED stitcher at all. I would be overwhelmed, but I might try a smaller somewhat full cover stitch - maybe... I am mostly a sampler stitcher, but like fun little smalls as well. Currently working on Emma Sanford, and a Teresa Kogut the Newcastle bouquet, Rosewood MAnor's Dove Moor, HATS Florence Mary Dickinson. I have others as well that I ma doing, but I usually get a bug and stitch on one of them for some time, till I get a bug for another. It's always fun. I do admire your stitching and your penchant and courage to do the HAED's. I'm looking forward to the news from the retreat. Have fun!
Great video, have fun at your retreat. Stitching on Madame Fortune by Crocette a gogo here, we love our furry friends. Can’t wait to hear all about your retreat next time. Happy Stitching
Another great video. I love all of the projects you’ve been working on and the new bags are fab. Looking forward to seeing everything in a couple of weeks. The cupboard of doom sounds a great and magical place. I have a cupboard of doom too, but it’s just full of junk 😂. See you soon
Hello! As always, beautiful stitching and loved your bags! The Thomas Kinkaid Christmas HAED was amazing! I am stitching on Quaker Tiles USA flag from Vivsters on Etsy. Hope you have a great retreat and Happy Stitching!
Currently working on an Emma Congdon chart from the book “Cross stitch for the soul” that says “When it rains look for rainbows; when it’s dark look for stars” which feels very appropriate for this upsetting week in America 🫠 Love seeing what you’re working on, but always can’t wait for your mystery bags. It’s the best!
I enjoyed your update! Thanks for sharing! Today you kept me company while I was finishing up the Gingerbread House for the Jingle Ball class by the Tiny Modernist. I am planning on doing the 2025 HAED SAL and my choice is the steampunk one you mentioned. I am a bit nervous about it but I enjoyed the MFE SAL for 2024 and finished it on time! Thanks for keeping me company while I stitched. I am a bit behind on my Flosstube videos so a bit late to comment. Have a wonderful November and happy stitching!
Another great video, so much fantastic stitching. Iv been knitting a blanket while watching you. It's been taking me a while to do, and I'm itching to get back to some stitching. As I'm a monogamous crafter, I need to finish my blanket 1st. But as soon as I do, I will be doing some stitching Happy stitching 😊❤
Oh Stuart, you are so brave. Full coverage is a four letter word to me. Well, I’m just a big chicken. There is one full coverage square in Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow and I thought I’d wilt before I could finish it. LOL. Love your content. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Hi Stuart. Enjoyed your video, as usual. Tonight I was stitching Aquarius by Nora Corbett whilst watching. I enjoyed seeing your Gypsy Queen. She is currently one of my (many) wips. Have fun at the retreat. Stephanie from NJ
Hi there, wonderful stitches you have in progress. Those bigger full coverage pieces scare me so I stick to much smaller patterns. I’m working on a geometric piece by Carolyn Manning called 10,000 Lakes. It’s a reference to her home state of .Minnesota which is where I was born and raised. Whoever coined the phrase 10,000 Lakes couldn’t count very well because Minnesota has way more than 10,000 lakes 😆. Anyway, enjoy your retreat and I look forward to your next floss tube recording.🪡🪡
Love seeing your projects. I have gypsy queen kitted up and now want to start. Love the lord of the rings projects. I missed out on middle earth chart. Enjoy the retreat. Look forward to hearing about it.
Hi Stuart, Wow ! Gypsy Queen ! Love those colours ! I have been working on a Delfts blue teapot on stand on white Aida 14 . Lots of white, 762 and 3072. The blues seem to go much faster :) Thanks for another great video !
Hi Stuart! In catch up mode so just watched 3 videos on the trot whilst stitching on Silent Night Lane by Dona Gelsinger. Started not so long ago and had absolutely no business starting another FC - hey ho. On the subject of, that Santa’s Workshop piece is gorgeous 😍 Not even going there 🙈 Looking forward to seeing your Chatelaine, I have one on the go but have to be honest, it intimidates me 😂 Thanks for the Scottish FT shout outs, will definitely check them out. The more the merrier. Enjoy your retreat 😊😊
Beautiful pieces you've been stitching on. The Christmas one by Tom Kincaid is just beautiful. I didn't realize how dark it is. Gypsy Queen is stunning, and I had to stop the video to buy her plus the beadbpack and specialty threads. I now need to live to be 300 years old. 😂 I'm not doing the HAED stitchalong for 2025. I just couldn't get into any of the charts. It will be fun to see what others choose to stitch. The bags you made are so vibrant and colorful; love love them! I'm still trying to get a page finish or 2 on Glamour by Marta Dahlig for HAED. Plus, im stitching on turkey Day by Cottage Garden Samplings for the Thanksgiving/Fall season. Happy stitching!❤
I really enjoy your pattern choices, but my heart went pitty-pat when I saw the Lord of the Rings project bag, the map of Middle Earth and the One Ring! 🤩You choose wonderful fabric for your bags. I am curious to see what Dracula will look like and your haunted house is going to be stunning!
Everything looks so good! Every time I see the Jack the Ripper design, I wish I had purchased it, but hopefully it will be recharted in the future. Today I was stitching on The Bride by James C Christensen, charted by HAED.
Hi Stuart, any chance of taking some photos or video of the retreat? I’m thinking about going on one - it is really helpful to see what they look like. Thanks for the flosstube, Steph
Wonderful video as always, I had my new start on a Long Dog Sampler that is a SAL Before I Sleep and I am trying my hand at using multiple colors b/c I love the effect others have with this so worked on it while watching. I have joined the HAED SAL, there are also reward charts for the number of participants which wasn't the case last year and I love a few of those so hoping to meet those milestones. I am doing Descants by Stephanie Law so I hope you join mostly b/c the more the merrier. I want to try to get the 6 pages b/c I know I will not finish it with my other projects
I was watching and stitching my MFE SAL 2024 No Time Like the Present. Getting closer to finish. I am thinking about the HEAD SAL too but not sure yet. I like the member award charts.
Love your videos and the mystery bags. Appointment with the Maker is on my short list for new starts, but it may get pushed off because I just joined the HAED SAL.
On the HAED SAL you also get other cropped charts for free for every thousand people that sign up for the SAL. So theoretically you could get 4 free cropped charts if 4000 people sign up.
Of course you could do a “stitch with me”. I would love to hear more about your stitching and tip and tricks. You definitely have tons of practice!! Also, I would love to know more about where you get your full coverage pieces. Other than liking a particular type of image are there any things to look out for when purchasing full coverage? I’m thinking about getting brave and trying one…..
Stitching on the HAED 2024 SAL, the Forest Fairy, the fox. I am determined to finish. I am going to do the 2025 Drinks on the Beach. I hope you join. It is a lot of fun. Great video.
Are you enjoying going through your bags and stash? I know I am! I tried your use of the ‘knitting’ tool ( don’t recall the name) to hold the floss. It’s working well. Thanks.
Another great video! I worked on An Enchanted Place by StitchesSewBeautiful whilst I watched it. I thought about doing the HAED SAL but I’m now thinking I have enough to stitch and many other things I’d like to start that call to me more. I’d rather try and get 6 pages into An Enchanted Place than any of the SAL pieces.
I normally do full coverage 2 over 1 tent on 25 ct. I'm sure the coverage is much better on 32 ct, but how tight is it to pull your needle through? I haven't started it yet but I too plan to do Santas workshop. I love Thomas Kinkade and have a couple of charts with his artwork. I love all your wips and finishes. They are beautiful. I'm team #haedjelly. I really love the colors in Jellyworld. You should definitely do it. Especially since they have participation charts this year. It's 3-4 charts that are given when so many people sign up. The first milestone is 1000 participants gets us a cute dragon chart. And tent stitch is allowed so it won't be as difficult to hit the goals this year. I started Turkey Day by Cottage Garden Samplings while watching you today. I'm in the US and it's to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday at the end of the month.
Were all Madd here stuart lol. I enjoy the full coverage, fancy ladies, and so much more. You have some nice projects going, I look forward to following your progress. You memtioned you learned to make your bags from someone can you send me the link? Your bags are awesome.
I have just begun cross stitching and I was wondering how do you display you finished pieces? I wanted to frame my piece but I have read that you shouldn’t frame the work behind glass, is that true? Thank you
hi, love seeing all your projects and the bags of doom! could you please talk a little more about what you’re using for floss drops currently? it looks like your thread lengths are fairly long as well, how long do you cut them? also, how large are those stitch holders? thanks!
Can you share any funny or unexpected moments that happened while filming your videos? How do you balance your time between stitching and other aspects of your life? Another great video today, Stuart.
Hi Stuart, another great video, thank you. I've been stitching on the 2024 HAED SAL, fourth full page, Forest Fairy Two (Mouse). I'll finish this page to enter. I won't join next year, I want to finish this year's! I've also got "One Ring to Rule Them All" to kit up and start for my son. Can I ask what fabric you will stitch on? Thank you. Arts and Designs are a great shop, their customer service is impeccable. Enjoy the retreat and happy stitching.
When you tent stitch, do you have any issues with the fabric warping like with needlepoint? If so, is that why you stitch diagonally? TIA! ~Elizabeth ❤
Hi! Stuart my name is Eileen and I live in Cumbria not to far from you, I was just wondering if you could answer a few questions for me please. I have just started doing some cross stitching again and have noticed that a lot of stitchers using Pattern Keeper so I have bought a Tablet to get the App as I’m 69 and even under my magnifier I can still make mistakes, my question is that I have started a design called In bed with crazy Cat Lady and have marked some stitches off on the chart, would Pattern Keeper still be able to read the pattern if I import it via a photograph? and would I need to take one photo or multiple. Also there is a lady on UA-cam who makes bags like you but she has also made a folder looking one with pockets in for your floss, her site is called Tiger lily designs and do you think you will be doing any of these as they could be useful to other stitchers like you. Thank you for your great videos I really enjoy watching them and seeing what you are getting up to, Happy Stitching x
Hi Eileen, thanks for the comment and questions Rw Pattern Keeper, I know the functionality exists but I have never tried that. I'm sure if you search flosstube, someone will have done a video on it though Fabric folder, it's on my list of things to learn how to make. I'll be following the advice I gave you above 😀
@ Hi! Stuart thanks for getting back to me, I watched the Lady on UA-cam who designed it take a photo of part of a chart that’s why I thought I’d give it a go. Never mind I’ll just continue with my paper pattern, looking forward to your next video.
You amaze me with the full coverage. I've got a lot of stitching going on..I'm trying to complete TURKEY Day. I'm also trying to co.plete November bt Cricket Collection. Jingle Ball is coming up in December so looking forward to that. Decided to not do any classes they seemed awfully expensive this yr.
Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
Gypsy Queen is so beautiful. The beading is especially lovely - it sets off the stitching perfectly.
Your Gypsy Queen is gorgeous!
Beautiful stitching as always. I stitched on Royal Holiday by Mirabilia while watching.
Always love to see your stitching, Stuart. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Love your Gypsy, absolutely stunning. Great stitching. I love to see all the full coverage projects and to hear your way of working them.
Really enjoyed the visit Stuart and seeing your progress on your wips. The show stopper was Gypsy Queen...Wow, Absolutely Stunning!! I love all your full coverage you have shared so far and looking forward to what you pick for Haed SAL, if you do it. Wow for gypsy! Absolutely beautiful! The ring pattern looks amazing! Can’t wait to see that coming together Thanks for the shout out of some Scottish flosstube I’ll give them look Enjoy your retreat!
Thanks for keeping me company while I cook my meals for the week. I love that first colorful project bag you showed!
Gypsy Queen is beautiful-I love the colours. The Thomas Kincade Santa is stunning so far!
I have never seen Gypsy stitched and man she is glorious isn’t she! ❤ I love your stitching and your bags too Stuart! I hope you’ve gotten some followers from my friends I think I’ve told at least 20 about you over and over! Have a fantastic time at the retreat and I look forward to hearing all about it😊
Another great catch-up, love the questions section.
Gypsy Queen is absolutely stunning!!! Well done! Thank you for the information on full coverage. I have never done one before but I am thinking of doing the HAED SAL this year. The more I see the Dracula SAL being stitched, the more I want to join in. I still may yet. Happy stitching.
Gypsy Queen is stunning. The sea green and yellow-gold in your 'Tis the Season to be Spooky really pops. I like it! Good choice on the fabric color.

Love all of your WIPS - Beautiful Progress on them.

Oh Stuart! 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ you’ve made me get out yet another start my Gypsy Queen 😡🤣🤣 I’m starting her immediately 🙌🏻
Lovely video Stuart, thanks for keeping me company this evening m ive been working on a secret stitch for my sister's Christmas present 🎁
I was watching and stitching my MFE SAL 2024 No Time Like the Present. Getting closer to finish. I am thinking about the HEAD SAL too but not sure yet. I like the member award charts.
love watching your videos. Great stitching. I was stitching Drive Through Dragon by Dragon Muse - HAED.
Love your channel ❤️ I worked on Happy Halloween 3 by Howie's Needlepoint while I watched 😊
Stuart, I love your videos! How do you keep the backs of your projects so neat? Mine are a mess!
Great job ❤
Have a great time at the retreat!
Nice glasses 🕶️
❤👍🏻
Hi Eileen, thanks for the comment and questions
Rw Pattern Keeper, I know the functionality exists but I have never tried that. I'm sure if you search flosstube, someone will have done a video on it though
Fabric folder, it's on my list of things to learn how to make.
🪡💙🦄😊
You amaze me with the full coverage. I've got a lot of stitching going on..I'm trying to complete TURKEY Day. I'm also trying to co.plete November bt Cricket Collection. Jingle Ball is coming up in December so looking forward to that. Decided to not do any classes they seemed awfully expensive this yr.
