Leaving on a 2000 mile road trip ALONE...

- So I am leaving on my first road trip - a 2000 mile east coast loop, on a 2021 Harley Street Glide. I'll be visiting a couple of old college friends, as well as new friends, Jess aka Her Two Wheels and Lali. This is my first time taking a Harley on the streets, and its been a few years since I've ridden a Harley. After I picked it up I took a couple of hours practicing slow speed skills before riding home to pack for the road trip I'm leaving for the next day.

While I'm on the road I'm changing my UA-cam schedule from Tuesday/ Friday videos to "spotty uploads" during the coming month or so - hope you understand! :D

Do you have back support? Harley should have one for the bike you are using. I'm old and have acquired a lot of aches and pains, including my back. Have used them on most of my later Harleys, help's a lot. Have a good time and be careful.
Love it if you come near Richmond!
Hey Doodle, sorry for the silly question but would you or someone be able to advise me on how do I sign up for emails as I would really love an 2022 girl rider calendar. T.I.A.

Having ridden motorcycles for 50 years it is enjoyable reliving the joys of someone discovering the joys of riding through your videos. Stay safe, keep riding and enjoy your time in the saddle.
Once you get that harley out on the highway or interstate that's where it will shine. You'll really like having the fairing also. So glad to see you taking a trip on a harley!!
I HATE the big Harley on gravel and low speed but UNBEATABLE on open roads. Enjoy!
Just did about 4,500 miles on my fatboy and the only bad part was having to stop for gas. Get a backrest.
Hi Doodle, this is a huge undertaking, especially as you're going alone! The Street Glide looks absolutely beautiful! and I hope you get to love it throughout your 5 days trip. You have so much planned for the months ahead, so we have a lot to look forward too! Have a great trip, and it's nice you're meeting up with lots of friends.💗
wow....wow...wow...awesome, I love the fact that you are trying so many bikes, and look at you on your 2000 mile trip! in the three years that I have been watching you, you have really grown. Congrats, stay well, and be safe!
So stinkin proud of you! 👏👏👏 Thrilled to watch your journeys ❤️
I've been a Harley guy for about 45 years, so I'm happy to see you on one taking a road trip. I ride a 1998 Softail Custom and a 2017 StreetGlide Special. Living in Woodstock, I can relate to the crazy Atlanta traffic. There's really no good way to get south of Atlanta making good time, when your options are I-75 thru town or 285 around town, The traffic can be stressful as you know 2 wheels or even caged! Point #2...The stock wind screen on the StreetGlide looks kewl but doesn't work well. You're going to find that you're gonna get a lot of buffeting to your helmet, which is tiring. That's why many change out the wind screen to a recurve style that moves the wind up and over you instead of hitting you directly in the face. Safe travels Doodle, I look forward to watching your journey!!
That looks like a lot of fun and showing people small bikes build skills is so important… a lot of people seem to get larger harleys and never ride them as they feel embarrassed asking for lessons.
Doodle, good luck on your trip. That’s a great bike to tour on. I’m actually on a 5,600 mile trip right now. I’m currently in the Seattle WA area and will be working my way back to Austin TX. You got this..
No cold-weather clothes, under-layers? That is rolling the dice. Weather is always unpredictable.
Have fun, you got this.
You will always remember your first solo road trip on a bike. I’m very excited for you. Can’t wait to see how you enjoy the bike and how your travels go.
Yes, I’m replying to my own comment dammit. Where’s the update on this trip?! I’m on the edge of my seat now, for like two months! I hope it went well. Can’t wait to hear about it
It's been fun following your vids and seeing you progress in your riding skills. Kudos to you for stepping outside your comfort zone and hopping on a bagger. There is nothing like it. I hope you have a safe trip and have a blast along the way!
Congrats Doodle. The memories you make will last much longer than your trip, so enjoy. Be safe, see ya next time.
You’re going to love the comfort of that bike on this long trip. I’m praying for your safe travel and wishing you the most wonderful adventure ever!!!! 🙏♥️🙏
You'll fall in love with that Harley. I have a 2019 Street Glide with the Milwaukee 8 very smooth engine and for a heavy bike they are quite nimble. Highway pegs will make ya even more comfortable over distance. They can go for almost 250 highway miles before a fill up as far as gas as well. I cant wait to see the videos of you meeting up with Jess (Her Two WHeels). I love her channel as well.
Good on you for trying all kinds of bikes, and for constantly improving your riding skills. Have a great trip!
Good luck on your road trip, have a safe and fun trip!
Best of Luck Doodle on your trip. You will be just fine. Be safe and keep smiling and have fun. Keep us updated on your adventure. Steve from Boston
your honesty is refreshing, ride safe! enjoy....

Your a inspiration thank you, you have made my cousins wife and my girlfriend fully leave there fear of riding. They have always seen you as a way to keep pushing forward.
😀❤️❤️❤️
Good you are going on a road trip ….The Harley will be ok as long as there is no corners. Take care Doodle.
Actually it leans and does great in corners!
You are so brave! I’m excited to hear about your road trip.
Enjoy your trip and I hope you arrive back home safe and sound.
😎😎😎👏👏👏👏👏 brilliant news Carolyn, hope all goes to plan. Looking forward to your adventures. 👍😎👊😎😎
Good luck, have fun!
I think you're going to love that bike on the trip. These touring bikes are in their natural habitat out there on the open road at highway speeds. Can tell you're excited about it and we're all looking forward to the journey.
I'm proud of you. Varity is the spice of life. Harleys are great bikes. You'll be fine. You're a good rider and the SG is an excellent rider friendly bike.
Wishing you safe travels!
I am a year late to the party but it is a pleasure watching you prepare for a road trip. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.
Respect! So cool that you are doing this road trip. Have fun 😊
Excited to follow this journey! LOVE your shirt!!🤩
Thanks! This is where I got it shop.tonit.com/collections/homepage/products/the-tonit-crew
I'm envious! I haven't done a solo road trip before but I'm looking forward to that when the weather cools off a bit. You'll do great doodle; as it seems like you've covered your safety contingencies. Most of all, have fun!
Great spirit. Enjoy the ride. Respect. Safe travels.
Riding different types of bikes is the best way to become a better rider. I hope one day I can do what you’re doing and take road trip on a big Harley. I to am a naked bike person but I need to really ride some other types of bikes. Have fun and stay safe Doodle.
I admire your confidence and critique of the machines.
Be safe and good luck on your journey 😊💯
Safe travels!
Glad to see you pushing your limits more and more Doodle, keep it up and good luck. As for ear plugs, MC Rider down here in Fort Worth just put out a vid reviewing several. I know its a little late, but as someone that also has ear pain with what most people use it is worth looking at for the future.
I've purchased and tried about six different kinds of ear plugs. NONE of them were satisfactory in the least until I purchased custom ear plugs that were made for me while I waited at a bike show. Actually I have seem similar ear plugs being marketed at several major bike events and shows. Worth every penny, every penny. Reduces wind noise substantially and most important...fit perfectly and are very comfortable.
I just use the ear plugs from work. Perfect and free! You can order from MSC.
This made me smile. You're so cute! Be safe out there!
Hope you enjoyed your trip!
Happiness is the journey.. I wish you a safe trip and lots of fun 🤩
Can’t wait to see your next video! I know ur having a blast
My little brown doodle - now you impress me. You have come a long way and worked your way up to this Harley ride👍
Its good to hear you are thinkink of your personal safety, going by yourself like this. I am sure you will enjoy it, but you will not avoid a sore ass this first time. 😁
I wish you all the best of luck and may God be with you.
Looking forward to hear how it went.
I've been contemplating a year round trip. Now I can't punk out seeing you be so courageous doing a solo trip. I travelled South America for a year and met so many women traveling solo (not cycling). I will be taking notes. You'll be good.
Woke a street glide 🤩 can’t wait to some more footage with you on that bike for the trip. Have an awesome trip Doodle 👌
Great video! Prepping for my first ever long road trip, going from the West to the East Coast of Australia (Perth to Melbourne) on a Road King - 3,000+ miles in 14 days. Your videos are a great help for all my planning that I needed to do!
Look at you getting more adventurous! Have a great trip Doodle! Since you'll be in my area, I'll keep an eye out for ya.
Have a Great ride!
Ha! Doodle on a Harley! Nice looking bike, dear! And should be a good one for a road trip! Good luck on your road trip, by the way! Keep riding! Keep smiling! Ride safe!

This my Dream Bike to one day do,a road trip ,enjoy your journey Doodle! Ride safe 🙏
Good trip Doodle! Be careful okay!
Cool!! Have fun and be safe out there.
Keep doing what your doing have confidence and you'll be fine.
To save your back rig up a bag on your passenger seat to lean against. Makes a HUGE difference! Also I use an Air Hawk air cushion. I’ve put 50,000 miles on it and can stay in the saddle all day for days on end. Good luck Doodle! Have a blast!!
Awesome! You’re brave but I’m confident in you. Just keep the front tire straight when stopping. Have a blast!
Ride safe and have fun 👍
Good luck on your road trip, keep us posted.
Louie from SoCal.

My long bike trip was in 1987. '85 Suzuki GS550E with a 1 tooth larger countershaft sprocket, throttle lock, and 3 motel towels over the seat. Nellis, Nevada > Baltimore, MD > Northern NJ > Mississippi > Louisiana > Nellis Nevada.
What a great ride!
You are going to have(are having)a blast! Looking forward to you telling us about it!
Oh wow !! Good luck 👍
Supercool! Glad your not riding at night. Goodluck! I haven't taken a road trip on my 2018 Indian Springfield yet. I got it last December. Haven't really had much spare time. Your husband is very understanding

Good job by the Harley dealer for making it happen 👍🏻 Also, better content taking such a beast on the road trip! 💪🏻💪🏻
You go girl and more power to you!!!!! Take care and stay upright👍. Sending love and good wishes from australia✌️❤️🙂
Came a long way congratulations 😎🍻doodle..🍻you injoy life just check when you can .. 🥂
This going to be so good!!!
Way to go, girl!😊 That Harley's gonna let u feel happy every inch of the way! A bit clumsy in the begining but till u get there, u'll feel like it's a bicycle 😊
Unlike sport, supersport and naked bikes, Harley's fun to ride even on low speeds. Good luck and have fun!😊😊😊
You will find backing up the Harley much harder than the Triumph. Backing up, up any sort of grade might not be possible without help.
So, when you park, make sure you can pull out going forward! Find spots you can pull through. Take extra care when stopping on crowned roads or parking on shoulders. If you stop on a tipped road, put down the side stand and let the bike lean, it will be fine, but you will not be able to get the bike off the stand and up straight.
If you tie a black bag behind you, drivers will have a hard time seeing you, you become one with the road. Put some reflective or colorful straps that can be seen from behind and from the side.
By any chance will we see you at Americade?
Won’t be going that far up to Americade!
I remember when I bought my 2005 gsxr 600 in Miami and was heading cross country back home here to Seattle all alone. At first I was nervous as all get out. But after a few miles that scare all went away and I had a blast. I think you will experience the same thing. Enjoy the trip can’t wait to see the footage. Ride safe
