Spraying Paint or Finish Correctly: HomeRight Finish Super Max

  • I used rattle can spray paint for most of my scrolled lettering projects. However, it can get pretty pricy when spraying larger pieces. Also, while the number of colors of spray paint available is growing, sometimes I simply need a color that isn't available. I reached out to HomeRight about their Finish Max Super spray I had heard great reviews about in the maker community. They agreed to send me one to test out and review. This video contains my honest thoughts about this sprayer. They did not pay me to endorse their product or to leave a favorable review.
If you want to order your own, use the link below! I provided Amazon Affiliate Links to some of the other supplies seen in the video.

Thank you so much! I'm painting a crib for my friend and I'll be using my HomeRight sprayer for the first time. Of course, I've been procrastinating because I was nervous about screwing it up. Your video is exactly what I needed! You've explained the sprayer's functions so clearly, and given such essential tips, my apprehension is annihilated. I'm tremendously grateful and ridiculously excited to go get this crib finished! Thanks, TightWad!

This sprayer would be perfect to paint the tiny details on a crib! You’ve got this! Just use light passes so you don’t get runs.

@@TightWadDIY lol love the sprayer! However, I don't think I'll use it for a crib again. I've heard many times that sprayers use more paint. Me, the novice painting a crib, wasted a crap ton of paint between the slats. I thought about stagger stacking to fill the negative spaces, but I didn't. The paints in using are very expensive, and I think I would have used a fraction of it if I'd brushed instead. However, I'm REALLY looking forward to painting the 78" tall entertainment center in converting to a Bourbon Bar... then a dresser, cedar chest, gentleman's tall boy... lol-- totally going to get my money's worth!

@@cicibabii08 I can agree you might use more paint. I think you have to weigh the cost of your time as well. It would take a lot longer to paint a crib by hand! I’m glad you got it done though.

Always be sure to sweep your arm perfectly parallel to the workpiece. If you spray in any arc, you are loading more paint or finish to the center and the coverage is much thinner at the ends.
