[5] And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
Tithing was under the law. Why do you think there are just about as many churches in a town as taverns? Because it is a good way for a man to make a living without working, and for some to attain great wealth and power.
1 Timothy 6:5-11 KJVS
[5] Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. [6] But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. [8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. [9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Tithing is not biblical that's the old law. The New Testament states that we should have a generous heart ❤️ hope no one out there is still doing animal blood sacrifices because that's what God required in the Old Testament. None of these scriptures have anything to do with paying money to a religious institution. Most of them have nothing to do with money at all. We're free to give, not bound to pay.
In your first group she was talking to the levitical priesthood not the regular people. The tithe was only to go to the levitical priesthood which no longer exist. Christ never accepted a tithe, Paul never accepted a tithe Peter never accepted a tithe. That should tell you something.
