I used to fly all the time for a prior job. And, I was on a couple of really bad flights. Although I have a strong fear, I can still fly when I have too. I just pray that a God will keep me safe.

Haven't flown since 1991. My fear is REAL. I wish I could get over this.

Don't worry about it. I rode on Blackhawk helicopters (1987-1991) and those contraptions convinced me to never enter the air except for my ETS flight home.
From (then W. Germany) I flew on a plane from Atlanta to Los Angeles I thought everything was going to be cool - because Chuck Conners boarded. "No way this plane will go down."
Wrong, we hit some turbulence over Texas (June 1989).... That was it for me. The army flew me home 18 months later and that was it.

As a San Diegan, I discovered this clip on the 45th anniversary of the collision (Sept. 25, 2023).

I was a couple miles away - the impact shook the ground and the noise was tremendous, a concussion felt throughout the body.

That is not what happened. The Cessna pilot was a student training for instrument flying along with his instructor. Cessna had no idea the PSA plane was bearing down on them.NO Heart attack. PSA pilots knew a Cessna was out there but thought they had cleared it. PSA pilots were so busy chit chatting as they were making their approach and should have been looking for the Cessna. Cockpit chit chat was changed after this accident.

This was truly a tragic situation all the way around. I don't blame Whoopi for being traumatized after witnessing this tragedy. I read that many First Responders were traumatized for weeks afterwards that's how horrific the crash scene was, with body parts scattered about and reports of people found dead strapped in their seats, being stuck up in trees..... Utterly tragic and horrific. I haven't flown in an airplane since 1991, that's how much my fear of flying is. I'm aware that one day, I will die, but I can't imagine spending the very last moments of my life in sheer terror and helplessness. Many all those souls who perished that day be Resting in Eternal Peace 🕊️.

This is not the case . The people in the small plane a ( cesna 182 ) were an instructor and his student flying (Gibbs flight school ) ) out of Montgomery airport . They did not have a heart attack .There is much debate as to why the crash happened but like alot of these accidents there were several factors involved . I can assure you anyone having a heart attack is not one of them. That is total B.S. If this was so life changing she could simply read about the accident on the internet since the year 2000 .Not to sound insensitive but she is being a little overly dramatic and also spreading false info regarding a horrible aviation accident that deeply disturbed the city of San Diego to this day . I was close to the manager of San Diego airport at the time of the accident. He took the accident very hard ... I can't stand hearing misinformation regarding PSA 182 .She should gets her facts straight .

@@mollyhatchet7075 The Faces of Death sequence shows footage that was taken by a news cameraman right after the crash. It includes close-ups of several mangled bodies, including what looks like a torso of a PSA stewardess, arm extended, mixed together with various debris at the edge of a street. It is on UA-cam.
