hey I've had my Komodo for about 2 years now recently my Komodo stopped has stop allowing any of my phone and iPad to connect to it can you help with this problem? I've tried rescanning through the red control app but still no progress
Say I had a RED KOMODO, can I connect 2 x iPhones through the RED Control App so effectively one iPhone can be used for the operator and one iPhone for a director to view?

Great video! Is there a way to control aperture or shutter speed on the komodo using a side grip while on a gimbal. That way we don’t have to let go of either side of the gimbal just to adjust exposure.
I HAD this app on my Android Note 8 and was working fine (months ago) but today .. it did not communicate properly with my device ... not able to start or stop recording ... so I uninstalled it .. and the link you have for Android says "Not compatible with this device" ... Can you PLEASE post a proper link here? Thank you. :)
From my experience, it's awful. 1 to 5 seconds at times. Even when it's not lagging too much, it's dropping lots of frames or the screen is freezing - so you can't really use it for any type of monitoring.
Ad hoc connection used to work great to mobile devices, but recently I've been unable to connect to the Komodo-X. I noticed that when enabled I now get a grey antenna in the status bar (instead of white), Status now says Offline and the camera's Wi-Fi signal is no longer broadcasted. Any fix for this? I'm on the latest firmware versions and have tried different band, channels, and antennas but still no signal. Thanks!
@@dice_mov I never found a workaround. I thought I did, which was tightening up the nut the antenna attaches to, and it worked better for a while but then started having the same issues. People I know who have the OG Komodo don't have this issue. You have the OG or X?
I just got it to work... added my Komodo to my wifi > went into OBS > added a VLC Video Source to my current scene, under playlist in the VLC settings I added the IP of the camera and the port number for the video stream. I found the port number after watching the video on Red's channel called, 'CONNECTING Komodo' video. Once I set the streaming quality to High I was surprised how nice it looked! Sure it's a pricey webcam, but it can do a lot more than my Logitech!
@@AlexaHann I’ve found out that if you just type in to any browser the IP of the camera followed by :9090 you get the stream live in full res (720 I think)
The video latency I'm experiencing on this app with my Red Komodo and iPhone 12 Pro connected via the ad-hoc mode is really bad, making the app all but useless. I set the Komodo's Livestream quality settings to high, and it is still awful. I'm talking anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds of lag time. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Same. Got some DJI antennas im testing out hoping to get better live feed. Also, wish there was a way to give a clean feed to a Director without showing all my exposure tools like peaking, false color, etc
The Ad-Hoc-Mode activates the Ad-Hoc menu option in the communications menu. When you click on "Ad-Hoc" you can change the password under "Passphrase". :)
Best app companion for any camera anywhere. Really is fantastic and it's free.

I'm wondering how much latency it has, I imagine a lot but maybe it's not so bad?
It's almost nothing. I'm blown away by how quick it is.
Can also agree - latency is pretty impressive. Definitely worth using imo
Yes, can confirm it's plenty quick, though maybe a little too much for hitting a focus mark on the right timing? ymmv.

@@philippestenier I have an OG. Submitted a ticket on the red support website. My WiFi symbol is just greyed out. Didn’t find a fix for anything yet!
Where does it save the snapshots? They don't appear on my camera roll (I'm on Android).

In Ad-Hoc mode I'm getting asked for a password. What's the password? You didn't cover that? I entered 12345678 and say's not the right password!!!!
