We still have my grandfathers 1971 international travelette. He died in 1986. And the truck has been sitting for almost 17 years. It ran when parked. My brother moved 3,000 miles away and that's the only reason it was parked.

I happened to catch this video. This guy's situation is exactly me. I have an '89 GT that I got back in 1990 as a kid. I drove it for about 12 years or so til about 2002'ish. I had another newer car, so it just sat and years ended up going by without touching it. I'm in the process of bringing it back to life now. Just fired and running decently this past Sunday (3/10/19). It was even the same exact color as well. I did have it painted back in 1998 - '93 Cobra Teal. Amazing.

Nothing like a two tone hatchback gt! I had the Maroon & gray 91 gt hatchback 5 spd, and I absolutely loved the car! Had the engine pulling 420-450hp all day! My friend put a turbo from a Ford truck on his 5.0 LS and I couldn't believe it ran let alone the numbers it made! And still had plenty boost left! Some 5.0 HO engines are solid runners, and nothing sounds like em with Flowmaster

I've got a 1967 Chevy II wagon that used to be my dads. Its been sitting on blocks for about ten years. It was originally a four door six cylinder car. Now it was a 93 GMC 350 with a 700R4. We ran it around town the year before it was parked. Honestly it wouldn't need much to get it road worthy.

I started building a 65 mustang coupe in 84. I had it running and driveable until 95. It is still ugly. It has needed a paint job since I got it. My kids got me involved in Boy Scouts and it got parked in my garage. It is still there buryed in the archives. Since it got parked I have had some time to work om it but not alot. It looks like it will be a retirement project now. Since 95, I have stuffed a 460 under the hood, built digital guages, and had a friend do some custom upholstry. I know what you mean when you say life gets in the way.

Very poor ownership. The worst thing you can do to any vehicle, is let it sit dormant for years on end. This car is his "pure love affair"... you could have fooled me! Looks like that car cover showed up about 15 years too late. My dad bought a 1990 Mustang GT brand new in 1990. It was a daily driver for 9 years. Spent plenty of time in snow and road salt. It's not perfect, plenty of dings and dents on the body. However, that car still runs perfect and has nice shiny original paint. I completely understand having a kid. At that point in time you either sell the car, or prepare it for storage. Get a car cover, a battery maintainer, and some fuel Stabil. Drive the car around the block once every couple of months and do an oil change once a year. That will prevent many of the problems associated with letting a car sit.
Here's a tip for doing a fuel pump swap. You better double check that it is working properly before you go putting the tank back into the car. Keep in mind the fuel pump is powered through a fuse-link wire. Many people replace the fuel pump only to later find out the fuse-link is burned up. Also, plenty of fox Mustang fuel pumps will not fire because the inertia switch in the trunk has been triggered. That inertia switch cuts the power to the fuel pump during an accident. Sometimes that switch is accidentally triggered and cuts the battery power to the pump. I didn't see them check that either. Always confirm that you have power to the fuel pump before you go through the trouble of removing the whole fuel tank. At least they used a high quality Odyssey battery. Odyssey seems to be overshadowed by Optima for some reason.

@fwh79 you forgot about the fuel pump relay under the seat or near the passenger side fenderwell. If that goes out ain't shit happening with a fuel pump on older foxes.

Not everybody is a gear head going to store their car all properly like you say. You can tell he's not a mechanic type. He drove it, he got over it, started driving something else and didn't bother with it - at least he kept it. I'm sure you can understand that can't you?

How do you buy a brand new Mustang GT and let it get to that condition that shows me you have no passion for that car for it to look like that ! find somebody who found one and bought it off a guy like this and really has a passion for the car and fix that guys car that’s my two cents.

Hay you want a real challenge and save my family. This truck was used to do all the bull work for the short time. Paid a great amount for this tuck for just what we all need to what is impossible to Hank comes to the rescue, that's what my daughter would say because she named him when she was 2 now 10 and calls him Hank. We spent 1 month / 3500 miles with him and his heart ❤ broke 💔 this is how I explain to her so she can understand what is wrong. The motor turned out to have over 250,000 MILES and the transmission, basically the whole power train. We were able to borrow the money to rebuild the motor. That's things came to an end. It's been sitting for over 7/8 year's. And I'm barely able to do a transmission pan with out things going south or to the hospital just about every time. The doctor's know me by name, age, hight ,wait and what to expect. I may have a disability but it is not going to stop me from being a father, a husband, from me to be me and I have control of what I can or can't accomplish. This truck is everything to us all. But instead Hank sits out in our driveway and has spent to many Year's away from joining in and make memories. Not a rust spot. We offered to pay for help to at least get Hank to be able to drive down the road not towed. So I saw your show on UA-cam and mentioned that how you'll see the people you help are way wealthy. You own your home. You are far more wealthy to millions at even are unable to afford a car. Yes I did say that why always the wealthy. I have need for just that kind of help. We just need to know much will cost and if we can make a payment arrangement to get your HELP. WE DO NOT WANT YOU OR ANYONE TO DO IT FOR NOTHING. ALL THE GARAGES ARE NOT IN THE POSITION TO TAKE IT ON. WHAT ABOUT YOU ALL. THE SAME.
