In all seriousness Joe Walsh, as a musician, is an ordinary average guy. If you watch any docs on him he’s genuine despite his fame. That’s what we love about him. He was born in Wichita, KS I think. I live in that area as well. I can only imagine he came from a fairly humble background. When you come from that background it sticks with you no matter how big you get. Celebrities are human beings too and the ones without massive egos just want to be treated like one of the guys. I've always loved that Joe often shows a wicked sense of humor, many times while simultaneously being deep and insightful. I love the line: "On Saturdays we work out in the yard. Pick up the dog doo. Hope that it's hard." I can so relate to this -- at one of the first places where I lived after college we had 3, and later 4 good-sized dogs but a relatively small back yard. I was the only one who was bothered by having a backyard that was a dog shit minefield when you walked through and that belched out a wall of doo doo stench, especially on muggy days, which I'm sure that the neighbors just loved, so I spent many Saturdays doing just what Joe describes and yes, I really did hope those things were hard. A couple of wet ones could really spoil your Saturday as if it weren't already f*cked up enough.

And to think these guys started out as back up musicians to Linda Rondstat. The Eagles were one of a kind. And seperate they amazed. However father time hits us all. RIP Glen Frey. Thank you for the memories....
Saw the Eagles in concert last week in Cleveland, OH and to everyone's surprise they actually played 3 of Joe Walsh's solo tunes. I was really hoping they would play this song, but no such luck. They played Funk #49, Rocky Mountain Way and Life's Been Good. The concert was incredible...they all sounded perfect. It's pretty sad (for the new "artists") when bands that have been around for 40 years are still singing like it was 1973 and today's "artists" get caught lip syncing almost weekly.
Saw the Eagles on the Hell Freezes over tour. Joe stole the show. As Don Henley once said, the Eagles had been accused of loitering on stage before Joe joined. The video playing during this song was hilarious! The highlight was the bowling part. It showed Joe in his follow through with more than half of his butt crack showing. Then it showed him making a hilarious face while scrapping up the dog shit! Just an incredible four hours yet there was still so many of my favorites they didn't get to.
Wow! Haven't heard this in 30yrs since it was released. Got a short stint of radio play back then....then disappeared. Can't believe I never acquired on disk. Tune has never left the memory portion of the brain though.

Every damn time I work in the yard this song pops into my head! I'm not sure if I appreciate it, though. Walsh has been around a long time- one of the first albums I had was the James Gang. First concert I went to was a Walsh show. with a band called Bloodrock opening for James Gang. Long, long ago...
Joe is an extrodinary average guy! If I got a chance to spend a day with any musician out there it would be with Joe. Too bad Glenn Frye had to leave us so soon. Was hoping to see the Eagle's when I win the lottery but no one knows how long that will be.

Ah, the song of my middle age - a time when I became an ordinary average guy. Thanks, Joe!
I like thinking of lost classic songs. Today I recalled this.
JonBenait06 love that track
It’s astounding how my mind wonders at night before I go to sleep. Out of the blue, I think about the early 1990s being close to 30 years ago and I searched UA-cam for this song. I love it.
This guy is a genius really, hope he lives a long and happy life, well deserved for sure.
You can sometimes catch him on the air. WB6ACU
@@jarvisfamily3837 Is that a shortwave call sign?🤔
@@UserName_no1 He has an amateur extra class license but I don't know what bands he might active on. Just leave a message - maybe he'll call... :-)
@@jarvisfamily3837 Got it😉
I, personally, don't have a shortwave connection (no license or radio) but I thought I recognized it as call letters. Had an idle interest in it (as is the case now) when I was in the scouts. Thanks👍
I fn love it. A song you can listen to over and over again.
Thanks for supporting my music 🎶 I’m so grateful 🥰 and I hope you never stop being a ot fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that’s ok by you.💜

I love how Walsh he's so believible.
Thank you UA-cam for reminding about all the great songs.......like this one....
Got to see Joe Walsh live years back. Tell ya what never thought in a million years I'd get to hear rocky mountain way live. Was a awesome show even played some James gang tunes
What can I say???????????????? He has saved me from myself in so many ways! Love you, Joe Walsh!
I love the reggae beat. Classic song. Takes me back!
That's because when he first wrote/recorded it, he was a member of New Zealand reggae band Herbs. There are many carryovers from the Herbs rendition.
Dig ol Joe, been looking for this vid for a few years now.
Nobody has as much fun on stage as Joe Walsh!
Most excellent Joe! 💋
Thanks for your love and support 👋 👋👋
Stumbled upon this again today. Awesome reminder of what a truly legendary rock artist Joe Walsh is. Love this song. I truly relate.

Saw Joe Walsh live in concert. It was great! He's still got it!
Thanks Joe ,you are appreciated brother.
Hardly 300,000 views, cuz we're just ordinary average guys. ; )
Why don't you take a seat over there
3/16/19! 971,771(+1... ME!) views. 5.5K likes, and the 280 views are still listening to comp-gen , soulless stuff of today.
I gotcha on tape, Bo!!!
@@austin647392 Let the garden variety show ya how it is done, Sisters and Brothers.🙃
haha love this
I work at a bowling alley for 5 years and this song tells no lies
Never knew there was a video for this song. Love the disparate but meticulously arranged visuals. Love Joe's sense of humor too!
And to think these guys started out as back up musicians to Linda Rondstat. The Eagles were one of a kind. And seperate they amazed. However father time hits us all. RIP Glen Frey. Thank you for the memories....
Nobody was better at turning the mundane into a hit song.
This song used to be a radio treat.
Oh man......I have not heard this song since 1991......its freakin' great!
This song makes me think of Al Bundy
Love this song. Best lyrics ever

Joe Walsh Rocks!
I have to say this is one of my all time favorite songs and music videos. ❤️ Such originality and creativity put into the lyrics and video. Also it's Joe Walsh. Awesome in itself. 😎

friend in Greene NY gave me "Rides Again" 8-track tape of James Gang to listen to while visiting there in 1969. as songwriter/guitarist with always likeable huge talent, joe's the man. what a career! Rocky Mountain Way, Tend My Garden, Good to me So FAr
Thanks for your love and support 👋 👋👋
I love this song, and have for decades because I never figured that considering Joe's lifestyle,he would know anything about an average guy.Masterpiece.
Genius song writing skills
ordinary average anthem. best ever.
The kids remind me of my sis and me. Good times good times. And I'm glad I have a little dog!
