Watching this reminds me of all the old youtube web series shows that were created back in the day and it really makes me wonder why people stopped doing these. They are great and sometimes even better than a 30min episode of a show you watch. Really enjoyed this series!
My wife wrote her graduate paper about a group of retired gentlemen who hung out a McDonalds every morning. I referred to her as the Jane Goodall of little old men.😂
Gotta disagree. Had horrible experiences with horrible cowards online. If I’m going to the trouble and hassle of being a DM, your gonna bring your ass to my house. Or Fonda other place to play
@@stephenpenna4313 to be fair, if being a DM is a trouble and hassle, you're doing it wrong. Being a DM is only as great as you allow it to be. But I do agree, the party needs to be physically present or I'm not interested.
@@NewKillerStar_34 its a hassle if your group dont appreciate all the time you put aside for them to make their stories special. I love being a dm, but it is only as fun as the group you play with. If you have a group that aint interested, you lose interest as a dm.
For the record I was being sarcastic. The majority of the people I play with I've legitimately known for 20+ years since middle school and am very close to them. We just use a VTT because we're all spread out across Michigan and it's just a lot easier than trying to meet up in a centralized location to play every week.
That Adventure Zone reference tho?? The talk of Twitch and gaming rooms?? This was clearly a passion project by ppl in the D&D community I LOVE IT!!!! Can’t wait for more!💖
This looks great! I've DM'ed for someone like Newbie before; she was brought to the table by her husband who was looking for more ways for them to do things together; they promised to respond to one reasonable request from each other. She asked him to start doing yoga with her and he asked her to play a few D&D sessions. The absolutely biggest boost to my ego, which ABSOLUTELY didn't need to get any bigger, was that she fell in love with the game after a single session at my table and has been part of our group for years. She was raving about how much fun my stories were and how I gave space for players to just "do things". She thought there would be all these arcane rules to follow, but in reality the rules are a very small part of what is happening in everything but intense combat situations.
Y’all I literally just stopped ranting (to myself mostly) about why Broadway can’t just stick a camera in the back of the house and then release it for like 50 bucks after the production is over, the beginning of this video nearly sent me spiraling again
RIGHT? i have had so many discussions with people that defend the same point as hers and it is so fucking infuriating and elitist. Good characterization, made me dislike her from the get go, which I think was the point, so great!
This! But if you dare suggest a video option could immortalize and make more accessible a production, suddenly folks act like you want to kill theater and put everyone in the industry out of a job. No. I seriously doubt having a video option would reduce the number of theater goers at all, because the elite demographic who can go still will. The live vs video audiences are different.
This is fantastic. I binged all three short, but magically sweet episodes. I'm in my 40s, so a typical young group in my area would not be into my presence. Eventually, I'll find a group and relive my childhood D&D days. Until then...thank you for this gift.
I’ve never been into dungeons and dragons but it popped on UA-cam main page. I’m glad I gave it a chance. I really enjoyed the episode . Great writing btw!
This is fantastic, my sister and I always talk about how D&D should be studied in a sociological and in a health manner. There are so many positive things that can come from it and it can teach people a lot of ways of better socializing.
@@MikePageKaltenberg she is unbearable for sure, and probably meant to be that way, with the whole "bootlegs are bad" speech at the beginning. To be fair, this is a totally understandable reaction to the concept of owlbear. Many monstrosities are taken from well known folklore and others are shocking creations of WotC. She is going to need a chair when aberrations are introduced. Those take weird to a whole new level.
What the flippity flap flip flappity hell is this high production quality web series I've stumbled into!? Well, I'm hooked, guess I'm watching it through.
she’s going to be so confused when she finds out “conflict resolution” is basically an opposed athletics roll to see who grapples who
Hey, sometimes there's a Will Save.
I'm thinking 1st Edition unarmed combat tables ;)
or, how many counterspells can stack/cancel each other out and who ends up being the last one casting xD
eh, never had players arguing so hard at the table you had to call a break? it's rare for me, but it's happened.

Right?? When he called Jean Barry blue jeans I was so stoked lmao
I had to do a double take when I heard Barry Bluejeans
The credits song is so perfect, it brings that 90s vibe ambient with a racing drums and sick guitar picks.
Totally random coincidence, I have the same dragon plushie at 3:03 and his name is Yorick. I think it's a sign I'll really like this series
