In 1975 Bill was diagnosed with diabetes, and then later in 2000 was diagnosed with cancer. As a way to cope with the devastating news of each diagnosis, Bill cycled through a number of anti-depressants (some with crippling side-effects), as well as alcohol. After several years of physical and emotional pain, Bill finally found a counselor that helped him to realize that dealing with these issues in a more natural way was better and more productive. Bill has since chosen to take control of his circumstances, and has integrated a healthier life style, and a great team of heath care professionals to help him fight his diseases. This is his 500.
