I gotta say so far you are BY FAR the best ck3 agot youtuber I have watched so far. That last Velayron campaign was epic. Can't wait to see what you can cook up this time.
I bet Stray follows the 'House Dayne is the descendants of the dragonriding Great Empire of the Dawn outposts who also built the Hightower fused black stone foundation' theory
Using the construction of Violet Rift Castle, as a semi secret nesting site for Grey Ghost, is some Area 51 stuff. It fits pretty well with him being such an elusive Dragon
What an interesting scenario, from a historical perspective. I cannot overstate the ramifications of this development: _independent Dorne has dragons._ Well, one dragon-for now. Still, it fundamentally changes the power dynamics of Westeros. It is a strong deterrent against the Seven Kingdoms, who are even more unlikely to invade by conventional means. Then again, it is also a provocation: even though Grey Ghost was a wild dragon, the Targaryens are likely to see this as theft of their property-not to mention that it delegitimises their main claim to power. Obviously, Lord Tion is only doing what his liege demands of him. But what is Prince Qoren playing at? He seems like a pragmatic man-far less honourable than the Sword of the Morning. _Surely_ he has some nefarious plan, and his loyal vassal is getting dragged into it. And how does Edric and Daemon's scheme play into it? They seem to have their own private goals, probably related to Daemon attacking the Triarchy. Perhaps Edric wants to take power in Dorne once he inherits, and to do so with the aid of the to-be dragon king of Essos...?
Glad you got early access, i cant think of anyone more deserving of it! Beware of fighting within dorne, the dornish have access to scorpions and it would be awful if Grey Ghost got shot down by another dornish vassal.
Damn can’t wait for this new series. I also wanna see a Targaryen history re-written from you, starting from the earliest bookmark and writing your own history of the dragon dynasty, that would be so damn cool
Actually found I get annoyed watchin other dudes play this mod because they'll have literally no knowledge on ASOIAF lore and play exclusively to minmax. I really enjoy how you even clean up in-between episodes in order to keep things closer to actually being plausible things that could happen without trampling overthe organic story that the gameplay has set up, hoping this is a banger of a series.
Duddeee i feel the same way, there was this guy playing aemon in 82 ac and he had no idea what he was doing and even talked about giving someone non targ/valyrian an egg as a gift :/
Feel this so much, minmaxing can be fun when you play yourself but not when you watch someone play that way, and especially since its the ASOIAF universe it makes even less sense.
i have a theory thats probably very common, GRR mentioned that there will be a major twist later, and house dayne having the the sword dawn and being "sword of the morning" theres a pretty clear line to the endless night. given that the morning and dawn bring the night to an end.
Maybe someone already suggested it but considering Edric character, he may be inspired by his father’s actions to become dragon rider. He may get the idea to infiltrate dragon pit and try his chances to claim dragon. I would think Silverwing as she is known to be more friendly. That could be problematic but as he is arrogant and ambitious and made an alliance with Daemon, I could see the two of them making their own plans for Iron throne. Daemon did want to be king, maybe with Laena / Vhaggar on his side, Corlys on his side (as Rhaenyra didn’t marry his son), Edric and his family and possibly alliance with Dorn, he wouldn’t bent to his brother. Just a thought, whatever you decide will be for sure amazing. Great episode as always ❤
I think it's good that becoming dragonriding family is hard. Recently played as Aurane Waters in CK2 and everyone in Volantis and Slaver's Bay seems to be claiming Daenerys's dragons and their offsprings, and building dragon pits for them (while only one of Aurane's daughters managed to tame Rhaegal on Dragonstone)
Might’ve missed this, but you had the “take flight” option to pay homage your liege - might’ve made sense not to to keep the secret longer, but very cool option.
I'm not sure if you have seen the option, but you can travel riding your dragon as well, it's way faster and has almost no danger, the first option on hiring for a trip and it only costs 10 gold.
I love this CK3 channel its slow pace gives a strong connection to each chracters. Thanks you Stray I really love your videos from the Sons of Ares series to now a new great new story:)))))))))
As one song end another begin House dayne oh this will be amazing and also when the New dlc for ck3 is out like the Eastern roman dlc and landless will you go back to reguler ck3 and play as the Eastern roman and do some landless character
So excited to see a House Dayne playthrough i loved the one done by JBD gaming and i think them being dragonriders is very cool idea, i might steal this idea for my own campaign but take Tessarion instead 😁
Lord Tion sounds like a Randyll Tarly/Viserys I type character riding a dragon, fighting wild stags, and taming bulls, but unable to find a suitable heir to his own legacy. So interesting!
I feel like connection between the Valyrians and the Daynes is the Empire of the Dawn. Similar physical descriptives, old + storied enough to be ancestors to both. Meta wise, it would also be the perfect way to tie the long night and surrounding myths from Westeros and Essos together. Maybe Azhor Ahai and the last hero were both Dayne’s wielding Dawn.
SO excited - I didn’t think I saw you in the CK3AGOT discord list of approved creators, so I was INCREDIBLY excited to see your thumbnails pop up on their list of content.

House dayne is GOAT. i wonder how the betrothal to Lyanne and the friendship to the hightower bastard will impact the choices you make. Will Dayne support Dorne independence? I have a feeling that this character and his son Edric are liable turn black. Who knows how Ser Lowstone feels about his brothers and sister-queen after all?
Love how deep you go with the role-playing aspects. One question though, what is the role playing justification for marrying your grandchild off to Daemon's kid? Like you said, the kids dad fought Daemon and Dorne doesn't like the Crown. It seems slightly forced and something that Daemon nor the kid's dad would ever agree to. Especially Daemon. What is your thoughts on the RP justification for it?
Edric has his own plans that he’s not telling Tion about, and Daemon needs allies if he plans to conquer the Free Cities; he’s spurned in the Seven Kingdoms because of his betrayal of his brother so seeking a Dornish ally, one who’s family members have managed to tame a dragon, might be very intriguing to Daemon. Beyond that, we need to give at least some leeway for setting up a scenario where we don’t immediately lose all our connections to dragons when Tion dies.
Well I mean the Danes do have white hair like the Targaryens so it’s theorized that they had some dragon riding ancestors in the empire of the dawn or ashai
I reckon it's more the Valyrians and Daynes are both descended from the Ancient Empire of The Dawn. I've always thought Dawn has a good chance of being LightBringer. Edric Dayne=Azor ahai in book 6! Lol (joking)

How else could Tion Dayne have tamed a dragon?
Let’s just say I think it’s an intriguing theory 😁
It's a reasonable theory. As is the Valyrians being another off shoot.
Is that the one talking about the gemstone eye colors and how valyrians only cover one or two of the colors?
close but i subscribe to my theory that the daynes dont descend from valyria but the valyrians descend from the daynes

This series is gonna be great. Been so excited for the dragon update to the AGOT mod.
could it be that house Dayne does decend from the same angestors as the Valyrians? this way they wouldn't be Valyrians, but rather their cousins
That’s what some have speculated! Search up the Great Empire of the Dawn theories, it’s a bit related to that.
