    Are you nervous at all about running stock manifolds and catalytic converters? I know of two guys (granted both ran the 2.35” pulley and over 11psi) getting blow by into the crank case... I’m doing a Kooks y pipe with high flow cats and having an exhaust shop build a transition. I as well as you are trying maintain a quiet daily truck and Headers are just way too loud. But I do think if either of us intend to run more boost you will need to further distance the cats from the manifold outlet with some Hi flows, or delete them all together. I think cylinder pressure/heat with that much restriction should be concerning but that’s just me. I’m in North Ft Worth area by the way.

      Short Stack Garage I ended up running kooks longtubes catted to relatively stock exhaust... it’s very clean and quiet.. supercharger is going on later this week..Finally ... shouldn’t find out if I have IAT issues until spring... just going to not mess around and get the interchiller to take care of it and that will allow me to tow without heat soak

      @shortstackgarage2063  2 роки тому +2

      A 2014 with the 5.3 is going to be an L83 just like this one. Now the prices of supercharger kits have come down a lot since doing this swap. I would recommend looking at Magnuson or some of the other supercharger manufacturers for a kit that includes everything. Nothing wrong with the lt4 supercharger, but if I did this over again, I would buy a magnuson.

      I used a factory 2016 z06 heat exchanger, and my IAT’s were kind of high. If you decide to go this route, I highly recommend that you got with at least a bigger reservoir. I believe Cordes performance makes one for these trucks that works really well.

    Some more info on the custom setup please. I have a ZL1 so I'm familiar with the LT4. Is this literally just a LT4 intake/supercharger and fuel system with a tune essentially?? I don't need fast, just the stock 5.3 feels slow, and everyone wants really premium money for the 6.2 trucks.

      I’m going to link the video of me breaking down the cost. In the description of this video, I link every part I had to use to do this swap. I didn’t upgrade my fuel system, but you can always go to the lt4 high pressure pump, and injectors if you want to run a smaller pulley and make more boost.

      I’m running the ADM 2.8” pulley. I didn’t buy their kit, but I did buy a few of their parts from them. If I could do it all over again, I would do a different intercooler set up from the beginning. I plan on buying a bigger reservoir, and intercooler in the future to bring down my IAT’s.

    • @shortstackgarage2063
      @shortstackgarage2063  4 роки тому

      Czacco43 yes, heat exchanger. Now I’m going to try a bigger reservoir first, and see if that helps. I’m running a factory 2016 Z06 heat exchanger in mine. I really didn’t have to cut too much to make it fit. If you watch our intercooler install video, you can see what I had to do, and it’s very minimal.

    • @czacco4334
      @czacco4334 4 роки тому

      Short Stack Garage is there an option that’s the same size as the stocker? if not i know whipple makes an intercooler that bolts right up but i don’t know if it’s a direct replacement, i was also thinking of running a battery sized ice tank but then have to find a place to put the intercooler pump slightly lower than the tank itself

    • @shortstackgarage2063
      @shortstackgarage2063  4 роки тому

      Czacco43 I’m not sure on that. The main reason I went with the factory intercooler was the hose kit and quick connects. But now that I have it in, I’m rethinking it. I know Cordes performance makes a 3 gallon tank that fits in the spare battery tray of the 14-18 models, but it’s $400. So I’m actually in the process of looking for a different option that’s a little cheaper.
