Just got mine in and had to check out some reviews. Solid video ! Very good
Still such a great channel after all these years.
Great review, the split screen on the speed test was the best I've seen.
Thanks and glad you liked it!
Talking about waterproof-ness at 13:27 ish mark...I'll give a pro tip I've used for years on my home built ebikes that's always worked extremely well. Take petroleum jelly and rub that around all areas you don't want wet. Cable connections, around the battery gasket, around your controller box, gasket of the motor, even around areas of your throttle and display you'd not want water to get into or sit on. Some even go further and buy certain stuff made for it but the petroleum jelly makes it so that water just rolls off any surfaces you apply it to. I just re apply every half dozen rides or if I think it might rain out when riding. I've ridden in a good dozen heavy heavy downpours and had zero issues. The only diff is I use hub motors but I imagine you can use it on a Bafang mid drive motor/controller combo just as easy. You don't need to put tons on either, just enough so it's coating a whole area you don't want water to seep into. Test it out yourself first though to see how well it works. It's a very cheap fix for making sure your bike doesn't short out or get rusty internal parts.
Great review man!!! And from an Super73 owner.......... This bike is a brilliant looking bike!!! I'd buy one for sure....
This is really cool, especially with the limited time $800 off offer.
EXCELLENT review!! 👊🏼
2:23 Man you live in such a cool place for filming, would have been a cool shot at 1 hour later or in the rain.
4:06 That startup sequence is sick.
Best styling on an E-Bike yet in my opinion! Dope review once again man, the upside down shifter is a bit awkward but the strong headlight, display, and performance make it a bit easier to forgive lol. Nice seat too, LED backlight is in a perfect position/design integrated on the seat. 32 mph top speed!
Shifter has been fixed.
Super73 still better
sounds great, I have a juiced scrambler might just sell that for this. Hopefully it will not disappoint.
Really good review. You answered all of the questions, in enough detail, that one would want to know before buying an ebike; without totally boring us with irrelevant details and uber specific details...
I appreciate that and glad you liked it.
Great review well done.
It would be cool to go to full light or dim light, (that you can choose to light up the both functions or just dim,) like the design, and features, would also be cool to have big backlight..😉 cool vid thanks,
If this bike were to make it to production at this price point the rest of the industry is in big trouble. Great review by the way and ride safe out there on these streets.
My hubby just bought this with eta September. He is 6’ tall and you mentioned seat is not adjustable and you are fine with. If I like it I might get one also. Our 3 kids, 2 live in the city may just ask for theirs as well when they see dad’s😅
I could see where that rear down tube frame could be turned into rear shocks one day.
Which eBike would you suggest for taller people, who don't want their knees to come up like on this one? Range and comfort top priority
Nice video SKB!
Thanks!
This looks almost polished like a quality product, but little things like the shifter being upside down (they have left sided ones) or the speedometer being off by 3 mph, seem silly to not just fix before launch. This is arguably one of the best ebike/moped style looking bikes on the market and for performance to cost, EXTREMELY competitive in that regard. I just wish they would iron out little things like that.
Shifter being upside down, a non issue. It’s been fixed as of last month. They are making updates as they hear from the community. Did I say I am getting one? Lol. Hubby had already ordered and after much research, I went ahead and ordered one too.
The only other ebike I like is the Lyric Graffiti BUT as our first ebikes, I don’t want to pay to $3099. We got these at $1999 each.
I'm waiting for mine too... Too much value to price
awesome review and great video so far on the Astro! Can't wait to get my Future Silver Astro #May25..🏍🚵♀️
great review. ty
Thx great interview
How did you get yours hands one one. I look up the team of c3strom and they seem suspicious.
do you think the battery will last 5 hours of riding ?
Sick looking bike!
Just put thd second battery in parrallel with the first. Super easy to setup. I have 5 stuk together snd hent hd. problem wth charging yet. Each of my psrallel batteries have bms, still no problem charging. cake.
The turn signals are sick
Nice.
Timely articles like this really need a date and year showing..
I have no idea when you released this video. It might have been a year ago or more.
Hahahahahaha every UA-cam video says how long it has been posted right underneath it…🤣
Great looking ebike !
10 more day before they will be be to purchase one of these!
I'm Happy for you.
Now you can get out to the corner Much faster.
I love the bike style i had a bike like that before i posted on my channel awhile back now i just DIY my bike now bc only you can make the perfect ebike and escooter. Like now i have a bike with 80a controller and a 3000w hub motor and im about to upgrade but i have a scooter that has a 160a controller with a 7500x 2 watt motors that hit insane speed and acceleration
Nice looking bike with great performance. That said, I'll stick with my Ocelet Pro which is a good bike as well. I'm waiting for the next 3-4 years when belt drive becomes the standard and 40 MPH controllers are a mainstay. It just seems like finding the perfect ebike right now is like chasing the wind. Tomorrow, there is a better bike out there for the money.
Soldjah bro, dang muang that be a bad arse review. Mucho time, energy, effort all equal that papah! Nice work, my MAN! Suspension and crowd funding, was the killah at the end.
We be watching like cheerleaders at their last Homecoming game. Saturated market with the usual ho hum stuff YES. These bikes are a different cut above. Dual batteries, dual suspension, and ohhhhhh wait for it DUAL Motors........ yeah I hear the growling and get away from the cubs but! We hopint his new kid on the block makes it. Beauty yes! Chris Rock said :somebody somewhere is tired of bangin' same ol' YEP! so she is not same ol'
DUAL IT UP and maybe the motors are 100W ea, w 72 v and a 52 v batt. w/ controllers
to match that. holy grail of 40 is cruising, 50-60 is ride it like u stole it, REGEN!!!!!!!
Sorry y'all dream is laid out. And a class 2 sticker, with a kill switch back to 19,9 mph.
Great review. Which E-Bike (with cost consideration) would you recommend for the St. Louis area for work commute?
If you have a mountain bike frame you can build one. For cost consideration in mind.... you can get a 750-w1000w rear hub motor kit that comes with the motor/wheel/tire(though I HIGHLY suggest upgrading to an ebike tire or you will pop your tires with such a heavy bike like most ebikes are), display, pedal assist, controller and throttle for 200 bucks. And you'll need a lithium ion battery that fits how long/far you're going to be going. Which I'd suggest at least 15ah for something like a 750w-1000w hub motor. Not going hard my first ebike I built which was a 1000w rear hub with 15ah(amp hours)battery got over 30 miles a charge going 20-25 average. And btw it can go 42 on flats. So it's plenty fast. Which I don't suggest. It's scary on a mtn bike. Plus cops will take nots. But it's got serious torque for something so cheap. I paid 400 for the battery and that was 5-6yrs ago. You can find or build much cheaper batteries now if you hunt around. They've been going down a lot. You also could go lead acid battery route but tbh I don't know much about using them for ebikes. I've seen it done, they're massively cheaper, but I'd research on that before thinking about using marine batteries or something like that on an ebike. Hope you can figure something out.
I
Rear shocks n I'm in‼️
A way to charge the spare battery while riding would crush it ..
I think you can just add a battery blender and hook it up with the controller to use dual battery.
Is there shipping to the Netherlands?
Would you recommend this bike for shorter rider (5'4")? Thanks
This was my second choice but after reading complaints on my first choice I think this bike is a winner..the only thing I don't like about this bike is how the battery is position..kinda awkward to get it off the bike but other that it's a nice bike😃
great video !
Thanks!
AWESOME video ... THANKS ... 👏😎
Thank you for watching. Much appreciated.
@@SoldierKnowsBest you are most welcome ... best regards with big respect and have a wonderful time ... 👋😎
curious to know what e bikes are your favorite and what you would suggest to others
What go pro are you using on the chest?!
So beautiful as of now ❤
Where to buy this kind of EBike. Im interested.
Nice looking e-bike to be sure... For next years model along with the connected extra battery upgrade I'd love to see an upgrade of at least a 1000 Watt rear hub motor. Maybe for the new Astro Pro model. That would allow it to compete with the Ariel Rider and similarly powered moped style e-bikes... It's almost there....
LR Allen
boi why you signing your comment goofy ahh
how tall are you? will someone 6'2 look silly on it?
Where is the controller located?
Good look!
are we able to buy them now? i try to buy the bike but it takes me to another website and I don't know where to purchase them
Their Indiegogo page goes live on the 25th.
Any one knows Where can I get a controller for this bike ?
No rear suspension. Wondering if my rear trunk bag will fit on the rack. Do they recommend repair shops and how is their customer service department? Built in China I guess.
The space for rear trunk bags is more limited because of the shorter rack and the overhang of the seat. It will mostly depend on the height of your bag. Because this is a pre-production unit, I haven't had any experience with their customer service.
Wait is the phone accurate or the radar on the bike
Can u review this in Rainy plz
So I blew out my meniscus in college and never got it repaired (Ik im dumb), would this be easy to ride? Normal bikes hurt a lot to ride and it sucks
If you just use the throttle yes, but depending on your height and injury, an e-bike that has an adjustable seat might be better for you. If you're hurting using a regular bike going up hills and things, this bike and any other 750W motor bike will be easier on the joints than a regular bike.
Hello. It is also available in Iran because I like this model very much.
So thank you for the ride along and the review, it looks like a promising product, and I hope they get this into production and out to folks soon. I think some type of regenerative braking system would be interesting, as I don’t know of any E bikes that has that feature, as it would save the brakes and I would pay extra for that! Cheers!🥂
How about doing a review of the Lyric Cycle Lyric Graffiti ebike
That's on my radar. 👍🏽
Thanks for the review. This is a great design. It is really impressive that they can do this at a $2k price point. It makes me wonder if maybe they could do a 72v, 3000W version with better suspension in the future for $4k
A 72V kit would be sick.
Look up kaabo Wolf GT
with 72V this is going to be an onyx
How many NM?
So in the 6th gear you are really in the 9th! Super fast lol
Super fast is how my high school sweetheart liked it.
🥱
I Like these I call them E-mopeds that you can pedal instead of an e-bike mostly because it uses throttle and has max speed of 28mph using throttle. The Super 73 has been around the longest I think but it's nice to see more companies coming into the game and fleshing out the market to give options hopefully will just the price down soon. I definitely want to get one in the future.
Good speed, must have a bigger controller.
The E bike business is really kicking off. I've had two E bikes and to be 100 percen't honest thought that I was done and could never buy another one but maybe just maybe. Some of these new competitors are really picking up the notch. There is so much people can over look but I suggest reasearch before you buy and wait because first model is never as good as the secound.
Seriously considering this one...but an agonizing choice compared with the Grizzly. I like the lower price point of the Astro Pro. I'm willing to give up rear suspension as I don't need off-road, just commuting to work or buying groceries.
I’m looking at buying this bike - i am 6’3 - you think I’ll fit okay on it?! I know you said you are 6 foot
Think it’s worth the $200 more for the better battery?
$200 for the extra battery is a good price and you can never have enough range. As far as being 6'3, it'll be a little more uncomfortable than on a bike with an adjustable seat because your knees will be bending more while pedaling, but unless you have a medical issue or something, I don't it will be extremely uncomfortable.
Looks like a nice super73 contender for style and entry price
You should check out the Ariel Grizzly. Dual 1000w geared hub motors with dual batteries(a 20ah and 15ah)for the same price as a top tier Super73. 3,200 USD.
@@jdgoesham5381 i have a surron so im not really into these bikes. im just saying it has that sporty look like a super73.. just all style. Ariel Riders are in competition with Juiced bikes. they have that same triangular design language with the Scramblers
I personally would like to see all controls being able to switch to either handle. I know a number of disabled people who can only use one hand. Should easily be possible
How much this produc
Let ‘em know DRE!
😂
People are getting $800 discount but I can't find how much it will eventually sell for?
$2500. Pro $2800
can you please review Sur Ron E-Bike :)
He does do good reviews but do you need a review on Sur Ron’s there are just plain awesome don’t trust anyone who tell’s you different lol🫡😇😎☝🏽
I have my eye on a Sur Ron too. 😉
@@SoldierKnowsBest 😎🫡 🙏
I am a 260 pounds man. Is this bike suitable for me?
I think 260 pounds is ok since we used a big 18A controller.
It would be cool if they could use kenetic energy to charge the spare battery with the tire motion.
Nonsense, that'd make the bike harder to pedal or take energy form the motor into the reserved battery with minimal efficiency.
@@itsLuisG agreed... way too much drag
@@itsLuisG im thinking it could have a roll feature similar to a tesla.
@@NathenMixon you mean brake energy recovery - only adds 2% to range, at best
That is a great idea
Love the look but hopefully version 2 will be even better!
Not as good as version 4
Ristretto - two new models coming that will be incredible.
and you can install a chain guard, too
its very cool i want to try E-Bike Please
Whew... longest 16 minutes ever but a really, really good and comprehensive review...
comment makes no sense
كام السعر لو سمحت بالمصري
Interesting no wheel spokes , very mature design
I guess its cool to like before the party starts
It's always cool 👍🏽
Bike looks great except that I don’t like the fixed seating position. Don’t know how tall you are but you love k way too big on it!
I have a zooz ⚡️zooz next please
Is it good for slow speeding on sidewalks?
Was that a coincidence you past by a bunch of gas Motorcycles? Lol that’s hilarious.
I was about to honk my horn at them to say hi lol. *beep beep
16:50 Yes, be careful about unlocking that higher speed on regular roads. That 1/2 HP motor and small bike frame will reek mayhem. Unlike the 1000HP death machines....oops I mean car that have no limitations other than a few emissions standards. Don't you love how Oil industry works so hard to kill the vehicles that are the answer to a better life for most.
Heavy bike with a hard tail ☝️🤟👽🚲
How many electric bikes do u own ???
Not enough 😉
@@SoldierKnowsBest 🤪
@@SoldierKnowsBest I want to know too! I’ve also have a few and can’t stop myself from wanting more!
Just reverse both twisters . Problem solved.
Great looking bike. Shame it's underpowered. Needs a 1,000W motor, at least. Acceleration looked pretty crap.
That looks similar to Scotty's ebike.
Sorry posted previous comment just before hearing that you are 6’ tall:(
Noone should ever take a turn on the pedal down side.
It beats the Nigerian coconut cart I bet.
The problem with bikes like this in America is what are they trying to be? At this point ditch the pedals, crank up the power and just make an electric motorbike. As a pushbike? It's pointless, if you built a mountain style mid drive ebike with the same batteries you'd need a smaller motor for the same performance and you'd get considerably more range due to the light weight and pedal assist motor. And as it would be considerably lighter it would be more practical throwing in the back of the car or lifting it over a gate etc. It's like Americans just don't understand what a bicycle is for.
Some people don’t have a license this is a great option and 32 mph is ok for this , city driving 32 is plenty just buy a motorcycle if you want speeds and zero to sixty speeds it funny how a lot of people who like ebikes think if I got the fastest I got the best 😅great looking bike I heard green color for 2023
7:30 range estimate: Always given at low power in perfect conditions with light person. I don't care what you say, the numbers given are NEVER real world. I'd wager 50% or less of whatever they estimate for actual use. I've ridden MANY e-bikes and watched many videos, they are NEVER true.
LMAO, park rangers.
It’s a moped
they should just skip the pedals and fill the whole inner frame with a battery, lets get the tech rollin geez
no back suspension, it's like any old ten speed
It looks heavy.
750w motor is unacceptable in 2022 for anything over $999
I would like to have seen it at 1000w.
