Only fully transformed skullgirls have those eyes, for example Marie and Squigly's Mother. I don't know if eventually becoming a Skullgirl, like Parasoul or Filia, Will give you those eyes, since both of them already had red eyes for some reason.

I don't completely understand: if the heart grants you a wish and turns you into the next skullgirl if you're not pure, can't you just wish for the heart to disappear forever? Or is it one of those "If you wish for something too convenient the heart will deny you the wish" situations where it'll backfire?

When I get to Parasoul, the Egerts still have their armbands in the news broadcast and in-game. But in the following cutscenes, the armbands are gone.
