HUGO!! thanks very very much, I had to put mine up in a day 5 hours before the holiday of sukkot, so next year, all I have to do is put on the special roofing material I use, a 12 x 9 bamboo mat which I roll out. it really makes things so much easier and so much more sturdy,
The video is informative and the pergola is beautiful! I noticed you wrapped the support posts. It also looked like you notched those as well. Do you have photos of this process? Or can you post another video showing the detail of this method? Thank you so much!!
Beautiful, but I wish it really was step-by-step, like showing us how you fasten the boards to each other I'm trying to build one but I don't know how to put the boards together.
tina9779 well i don't where you located , But im in process of donig this myself, I found a kit on overstock .com ,Backyard discovery 12x10 pergola for 900$ .Im going to try that.
For the support beams is screw all of them 3 deck screw per 6 inch in the back to secure the post is use a lag screw in the center top of the post in the gap he made to place the vertical beams the lag is hidden what you did is great don't damage the siding and also but extra support use the back post well done I don't see the polythelium to seal the stain
This is a very nice pergola. Most I have seen fasten the main support beams to the side of the posts. I like that yours rest on the top. How did you fasten the triple beams to the top of the posts?
hello, what post brackets/saddles are those and how much do they cost? I see some people say when the posts are above ground the structure can be wobbly.
Hugo, Thanks for sharing, quick question. The rafter that goes from side to side are 2x8 ? With cut holes for the front to back rafters to sit on? How is the rafter sitting on the post? Are they 6x6 or 4x4?
I got his full name spelled wrong, it’s actually Woody Hyezmar, who was about to sell his collection of woodworking plans but now is giving it for free on his website!
You didn’t provide necessarily a “step by step”! Beautiful pergola and love the joints etc. however disappointed you talked and didn’t film the cuts, build or install 👎🏼
Thank you, when I work for customers they don't like me to film or do stuff like that, now that I have my own properties I can record at my convenience and the videos are better, I hope you to find some good ones soon
those posts are too close to the house, owners will realize it when they need to change their siding someday it will be a pain to disassemble the patio first

wow, absolutely stunning. I like how you went the distance to make those edges look good. Great work and thanks for sharing!
Thats awesome, starting my own pergola here in a 2 weeks! Good luck to me!
Beautiful!!! What’s the span for post to post ? Curious why you used 3 ply instead of 2?
Great job Hugo!
Great work, add more video

Me encantó, sólo que me gustaría ver más detalle de cómo fijaste las maderas (tablas) a los postes…

By adding the angle supports you provide the stability to the structure
great job!!! what if the length of the pergola is 20 feet?
you need supports ay 10 feet or aluminum beams to hold the structure
Good job
HOGSIDE SJ T.V. Thank you
What size 2x lumber are you using for the 3ply beam?

I made it by myself thanks to woodprix.
camera man is a smoker
All that work and money 💰for a bunch of erected wood when a &5 dollar umbrella will keep you drier and shaded. 👻
+kathryn liu better, a black plastic cover!!
My deck is to big for a $5 dollar umbrella. I love this pergola.
