@@solomon7000 I don't expect mothers or fathers has to know it all about their children but not knowing basic stuff like allergies or where they go to school it is an indicative that the parent doesn't fullfill his/her daily responsabilities. A lot of female friends of mine take care of everything about their children. School, doctors appointments, food, etc. Those fathers love their children but they barely do something unless the mother ask them to do it.
Yep, had to have a serious talk with my husband because he relied on me to do everything for my son (because I "did it better" -- oh f**k that!). I told him, if I died in an accident today, you would not have a clue how to care for our son. Yes, agreed. When you hear about a single father raising his kids alone everyone treats him like he's some kind of hero, and neighbours offer to help him out with babysitting or take him cooked meals and whatnot. A single mother is not afforded the same respect. She's often subjected to stigma, and no one offers to help her out. She's just expected to deal with it on her own. Very unfair.

When a relative and her family adopted a dog, they had to change his name from "Buddy" , because every time the husband called the son "Sam, c'mere, buddy", he got both the dog and the kid! 😆
How can you not know your child’s middle name and birthday?!?! And what they’re allergic to? I’m sorry, but this is just sad. Not knowing these important things about them is just scary. My mom knows all our teachers name, even old teachers. Our birthdays, important events about us, our best friends and list of friends names. Who are doctors are and who to call in case of emergencies, etc.
That’s because they never filled out any forms, never have to drive the kids to hospitals or camps, never had to plan what to eat everyday and never have to work out schedules and contact babysitters, worry about child rearing side of business. What’s behind this is how little they participated as a parent.
You just said your mom. Moms know more about these kinda things becauee they take care of that. Some Dads be wokring from morning to evening for an entire week just to be able to provide for their family. So you can't take credit of a dad being a dad just cause he does not remember ur birthday

It was all like, "Sure they don't know their teacher's name and what they are allergic to, but they know their favorite video game and sport's position!" She didn't even think that might be why these guys are getting divorced? Mom is doing all of the actual work of parenting so they can play.
I watched the same TED talk and you've hit the nail on the head!! The expectation for fathers seem to be so low because women ( generally) married or not, have so much of parenting placed on them. Funny thing is, lots of mothers would also know the things she claimed dads took notice of!
@@ea7109 The expectations for men is to work and provide. Women get to stay home with the children be happy play games. We miss out on our child's life because men sacrifice. Try walking in a woman's shoes who works full time or part time and still takes care of the children and the house, full time, while her husband is busy watching TV or playing golf because he needs to wind down after work. It has nothing to do with work but everything to do with interest and care. @@agnosticmanquestionsall2409 Rubbish. Absolute rubbish🙄 "women *get* to stay home happy and play with the kids" ?? Like being a stay at home mum is a walk in the park?!! These wonen also do it AND can recall this important info!! Perhaps men are ALWAY reliant on their spouses to remember the information, so they just don't try🤔. I'll bet SINGLE FATHERS remember most of this information too- how do you explain that?
This is frightening. My dad has three kids including me and he can easily remember our birthdays, ages, and our middle names. I don’t understand how some dads could forget.
This is really horrifying.. Not knowing the complete name or birthday? Not knowing that they even have a nanny? What would they do in case of emergency when the mom is not there? In the Hospital: 'So when is your son born?' Father: 'Ehh...' Nurse: 'Is he allergic to anything?' Father: 'Yes! To berries!' 🤦🤦🤦
This makes me appreciate my dad so much. Dude is so incredibly kind and knows so much about me. He wouldn't know my friends names because he doesn't know them and I have taken them to meet him but aside from that he's know everything
I know that obviously they only show us the worst people for laughs but I wonder how many mothers you'd have to interview to get this many wrong answers. Kind of depressing because although this was normal for my generation I had hoped with younger generations of parents, women wouldn't still be doing so much of the work of childcare :/
It's sad because in the generations before men were the breadwinners and women stayed at home. But nowdays women are also going to work and contributing financially, yet the burden of housework and childcare is still mostly on them.
I mean u csnt assume that mother’s will get it right. Run a test with thousands and see how many get it right and run another with dads(1000) and find the statistics. Also dads do more work

Most dads do. This video wouldn't be funny if they showed the dads who do know everything about their kids. I know my daughter's bday, her blood type but usually forget who's her best friend. Her school grade I can't forget because that's something I have to pay for every year
The sad thing is that my dad would’ve been able to answer all of these, like my best friend, my birthday, my age, I feel bad for the kids who’s fathers aren’t as involved in their lives, every child deserves a father who makes time
Exactly, this is so sad. If you are in your child’s life, then make an effort. There are circumstances in which time together might be limited, but there’s no excuse for not knowing the age, birthday, and allergies. At that point it’s not even about making an effort, but about having any interest in your kid. I’m sorry for everyone that had one or two parents who could not be bothered doing the bare minimum.
Now I understand why my cousins were surprised when my dad took them to the store once and said ‘Oh don’t get that one she doesn’t like it’ or ‘Oh they have these again I’ll get them for her cause she always wants these’ Apparently some dads don’t even know allergies or birthdays, let alone specific food I like or dislike
Not exactly staged but they probably either do this to hundreds of people to find the worst ones or send a PA out and ask or have them sign up for this and ask a bunch of questions that will lead to the right people.
Dont want to be a negative Nancy here. But I laugh of every other Jimmy Kimmel stuff, but not these. I just find it weird parents not knowing basic stuff about their kids. Like yea, my dad probably wouldnt get who my bestfriend is right. but he damn well know my birthday, bloodtype, what school I went to and if I played instruments and that I am for a fact allergic to penicillin. :P So its just weird to be how some parents dont know these things tbh. I feel so bad for the kids.
yeah, same i felt so uncomfortable when they were laughing?? like it’s not funny that they don’t know that stuff about their own kid?? how is this ok? and the fact that their moms probably did most of work and that it is normalized
It would be a lot less funny if they showed all the dads getting the answers correct. They only show the funny ones which are the people being stupid. And yeah they really should know the names and birthdays of their children.
I think the son whose father doesn't even remember his son's birthday will surely be heartbroken 💔😢😞....I wish fathers in America could pay a little more attention to their kids...😁
The fact that it’s not just kids in America or other western countries..fathers like this exist all over Asia too and it’s just disappointing. Genuinely don’t know why they’re so distant.
Lucky for me, im not form america, and i find it weird that they dont know anything about. Like how hard is to take intrest on your child. Like really... bday should be the first thing you know about your child.... how is this even possible. we in europe are abit different, it seems so at least
Men are logical and remember non-arbitrary information well, but not arbitrary information. Names and arbitrary numbers are more difficult to remember than things which are logically related to one another.
My friend Olivia's dad is the worst, he constantly forgets his children's names so he just calls them number 1, number 2, number 3 and number 4. 😂😂😂😂 And then there's my dad....he has no idea when I was born, he doesn't know my age or allergies...in fact, he knows very little about me. When I told my dad I was graduating from high school a few years back, his response was-- "But you are in the sixth grade."
This isn't funny. It just shows an attitude of complete lack of participation. Why should only the mom be involved in knowing the details of children who were brought forth by participation of both parents?
I feel for their kids man, I’m glad this comment section is more on that fact the dads NEED to know BASIC information about their own children. An allergy is life or death if serious, middle name and birthday should be without thinking,IDC.
The last comment about ‘thanks for making me look stupid’ is a bit uncalled for in that situation...you clearly messed up, don’t blame it on the production. It’s not like they hit you before the interview until you forgot all the basic information about the child you’re responsible for
Waittt you can’t just say that… you don’t know him. Okay he doesn’t know his daughters middle name which is pretty bad but not deserving??? Like?? You don’t know if he has worked hard for his daughters life you don’t know his story. Stop assuming stuff.
I know this is supposed to be funny but it’s incredibly absurd how this proves that women indeed raise kids by themselves and the dads really think their role is just to “help” here and there. A true parent would know all those questions.
It really just proves how much of an idiot you are to see this and think how this applies to every dad. You do understand this is for entertainment purposes and they are showing all the wrong answers only on purpose right? Watching this w/ my mom and dad, my dad got more right than my mom. Use your common sense. This does not apply to everyone.
This feels so sad. It makes me really grateful to have a good relationship with my dad I understand not knowing the child’s best friends or even the blood type but their age and birthday? Are you kidding me?
As a father who know the bithdays of all my kids, know the names of their friends and colleagues and where they live, and which books they are currently reading.....this pisses me off. Really pisses me off. It is NOT funny, it is actually mega-sad and may be one of the reasons who so many dads lose custody, when divorce happens.
Western people run after sex they cheat tere partners hence had to divorce and get married again and again so they have children from every wife hence how you can think they can remember there kids birthday.... I mean look at the show host he himself cheated and got married 2 times and had kids from both
are you serious it is clear to everybody that they clearly intended to make fathers look bad in this …they do that to all their supposed fathers day interviews. They only select those dads that don't know anything about their kids to air on their freaking show its ridiculous
Lol Dads be deadass working from morning to evening for an entire week just to be able to provide for their family and here u sayin they ain't celebrated as much just cause some forgot their kids birthday 🤦🏿♂️
It’s crazy to me how guys would probably be like “well a man’s job is to protect his kids not to know every little detail about them”. This man really doesn’t even know the name of his kids babysitter like wouldn’t you want to vett that person and know everything about them before you LEAVE your actual child when them alone? Also I’m not sure what the stats are for sons but as a daughter one of the reasons I’m somewhat stable with my self worth in terms of what I expect from men is because my dad made sure to make me feel loved, heard and seen not just protected physically.
This video is basically making 90% of us very grateful for our fathers because they definitely know answers to these questions, no matter how aloof they otherwise can be 😅

@@teddywere7119 keep your opinion to yourself
@Zidan Eldomor that's good to hear dear..but I can't say the same
@@teddywere7119 I’m sure they do that, but most dads don’t know this anyways.
Lol Dads be deadass working from morning to evening for an entire week just to be able to provide for their family and here u sayin they ain't celebrated as much just cause some forgot their kids birthday 🤦🏿♂️
1:52 I'm getting the feeling that this dad was military, and was gone a lot when she was small
Hmmm. I'm starting to think quite a few dads deserve those shitty ties and other crappy gifts on Father's Day.
So true
😄
😂😂😂😂👌🏽
Yup because they’re not doing much

This video is basically making 90% of us very grateful for our fathers because they definitely know answers to these questions, no matter how aloof they otherwise can be 😅
Thankful my husband answered all the questions right about our son. He also knew the answers for his step daughter’s.
Jimmy I hope you do one this year as well this are classic
My dad is this kind of dad. It bothered me growing up and it still bothers me now.
My dad every time he took me to the doctor “when’s your birthday”
"Thank you for making me look stupid."
No, Dad. You did that all by yourself.
It’s so weird that these parents can’t answer any of these questions. My dad could probably answer *all* of these questions. Except blood type, probably. Nobody in my family knows
thats because its obviously fake
@@StaRScreaM-du6fn I hope that’s the case because it’d be ridiculous if they actually didn’t know this about their own children.
@@silenceisbetterthannonsense someone posted that a lot of people on these segments get things wrong because they are put on the spot and nervous.
I have a feeling more dads would get this right if they didn’t have a microphone in their face.
Shows how bad these guys have to work in wherever they’re at.
No one knows or bothers to find out what their blood type is in most of the countries I've lived in. The only people that seem to know are the ones who've had medical emergencies (and their family + close friends) where they had to find out
