You can buy a plastic engine cover to place on top of the engine. You can have a trunk cargo cover custom-made for the inside roof instead of leaving the speakers and wiring exposed. It will help to add some thick foam as a barrier reducing a couple decibels of Cabin noise. The noise-deadening foil that can be purchased is a ripoff and at best reduce Cabin noise by 3 to 5 decibels. It is a waste of money and time. Also may cause damage to your interior panels or flooring or electrical operation of switches. Get a professional to soundproof your vehicle correctly with real noise-deadening material used in Recording Studios and Audiology Booths for hearing tests. Make sure to get heat-resistant/flame-proof material. Expect to spend more than $2,000 to soundproof your car as material may cost $1,500 and labor charge of $500 for a small or compact car. Sound does enter through your tempered-proof glass windshield so getting a legal tint can cut down on vibration noise by 2 or 3 decibels. So if your vehicle on the highway produces 70dbs of noise, having it sound deadening/ proof should reduce the cabin noise by 5 to 6 decibels using the cheap stuff or having a professional job done will get you 12 to 25 decibels less in the cabin noise. Do you prefer to listen to a gas-powered Chain Saw or an electric hedge trimmer? Never use tar or rubberized undercoating for rust or noise deadening as it will damage and make your exhaust and suspension parts rust within 5 to 7 years. Besides, mechanics hate working on stuff that is grossly coated which makes the repair job more difficult. Avoid Ziebert with a passion, expensive, and will make your vehicle worthless, they're just out for your money.
