Hi Matt good review, I have two questions. Do you have any information on that 1.5 turbo engine did they ever fix the oil dilution problem of fuel getting in with the oil? Did you test the air conditioner, does it put out substantially cold air?
It’s a way better looking car now. Reminds me of a small 3 Series. But that acceleration with the CVT sounds horrible. Like the engine is being tortured.
Kinda torn on the exterior design. Definitely more mature, but the 10th gen wowed me because it was such a bold design departure for the Civic and looked sporty in all trims. I saw a 11th gen on the highway last week. Wasn't as eye catching as the 10th, but love the interior of the 11th gen. I still love my 21 Mazda 3 Turbo, even though your ragging on it Matt LOL. Great review as always man!
Mazda 3 is not bad, it lags slightly behind on safety features and reliability compared to Civic and Corolla but makes up in other areas. Civic is one of those cars that most times is #1 and at times could be #2. All a matter of preference or one's experience leading to an opinion. Was searching as to when the 2023 Toyota Corolla XLE be arriving/released but has not at this time in mid-Sept. 2022 other than a bunch of Hybrids. Finding a new car is nearly impossible, a local Honda dealer had a 2022 Civic Touring still in the assembly stage at Honda's factory and no VIN. So, my wife and I decided to buy it ( 2022 Civic Touring) with a Black exterior, we dislike White and Black for several reasons, wished they had Blue, Red, Silver, Dark Green but not available so either get Black or wait many months to get a color we liked. Well, when driving you really don't care about the color anymore until you step out of the car.
Interior looks nice but I'm not sure how I'm feeling about the exterior yet

Fellow manual fan here. And NA engine preferred also.
Just to give a shout out.
Is the 1.5 turbo engine good to invest in looking at the oil dilution issues?
The local dealership has 44 in stock - everyone of them has a black interior, which I totally dislike. Needs more options for customer choices. Also, at 6:45 you mention the great response, with no lag, and then around the 10:30 mark, you start talking about the noticible lag. Which is it?
I think he means the CVT doesn't have a lot of lag, while the turbo 1.5L engine does have some vs the 2L.
It's a big improvement after having driven the 2.0 naturally aspirated engine to be certain.
To me, it sounded like there was a greater than average amount of road noise. Wind, cars passing, low tire rumble.
Looks too much like a Subaru Impreza.
Sexy car wish it had more hp but I can def add power to it
But is this better then the Jetta 1.4L 147 hp but 184 torque?
Over 30,000 in Canada ! Closing in on 40,000 with destination fee and tax. Wow and no lumbar support !
You can always get lower trims for less.
