  • What is Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)? 3 PD is the most common cause of Chronic Dizziness. Discover how this condition has been recognized by the medical community and the impact it has on those who suffer from it.
    Common presentation and history:
Unsteadiness or dizziness, present for 3 months or longer
Fluctuating severity depending on triggers of intense visual tasks like reading, crowds, shopping stores, or computer work. Dizziness symptoms can also be provoked by moving yourself in your environment
Behavioral co-morbidities in developing 3PD may include the presence of obsessive compulsive disorder, mild depression, and anxiety. Physical symptoms of unsteadiness and dizziness can lead to frustration and avoidance of activities that cause symptoms. This causes a vicious cycle of tolerating less and less stimulation or movement. Don't miss out, subscribe now to learn more about PPPD and how it affects your everyday life!

ua-cam.com/video/09LEUeaJpbw/v-deo.htmlsi=QY-pQDB_-_dLInoX this video on optokinetic trainingMay help you get past those symptoms. Of course sometimes it’s more affective to personally talk to you through optokinetic training, but I tried my best to convey what I normally say to my patients. And UA-cam doesn’t allow clickable links and comments anymore so you’ll have to copy and paste into your browser. Sorry! 😬

Sounds like me! I think I have developed PPPD after the suspected vestibular neuritis. I’m ok laying down I used to feel like the bed was dropping or that I was on a roller coaster when I closed my eyes but that’s got better now and I don’t experience that anymore 🙏 thanks so much for your videos.

@@treatdizzinessathome2023 I can but I tend to sit a lot because I feel best sitting, I don’t notice the symptoms much when sitting. I do need to get up and be more active.

I made some treatment videos just have to have the time to edit. And I’ll try to make a playlist for 3PD so you can easily find it on my channel in the upcoming weeks. 🙂 make sure you hit the notification bell so you know when I list new videos (if you haven’t already)🙂

Traditionally, no, but there have been documented cases of PPPD with even panic attacks or anxiety attacks. But normally there’s a true vestibular insult and then PPPV develops. That could be some thing with a Vestibular nerve, or even an insult to the brain like a concussion vestibular migraine, or as described earlier a panic attack.
