  • After a year of finalizing the details, the Buffalo Bills, Erie County, and the State of New York finally broke ground in June 2023 for the Bills new $1.4 billion dollar stadium. After debates about whether the stadium should be open-air or domed, and whether it should be downtown or in Orchard Park, the Pegula's opted for an open-air stadium in Orchard Park. Since that decision was announced, we've been waiting on renderings. Two were released in October with more detailed depictions coming later. The community benefit agreement has also been released to the public, and the Bills and Erie County chose to do something that isn't typical and concerns some. In this video we'll cover all the most recent updates on the Bills new stadium including groundbreaking, the Community Benefit Agreement, and more!

Not a Bill's fan, but I do live in western Ny (Rochester). My only issue is why is the new stadium going to be smaller? The current stadium sells out with 70,000 fans, one would want to capitalize off that. It better be a lot of amenities in that stadium like Bars and restaurants! And build a super sized Tops Friendly Markets across the street from the new stadium since they're Buffalo based!

TY for bring up the Seneca Casino (@3:~) - NYS's budget was not owed money for the "running" of the Casinos it was payment. From listening only (what is published) & being a local fan - After the Casinos opened up. Seneca Nation owed nothing. NYS took 25% of a few slot machines way after the casinos were open. Then when NYS went to collect this 25% the Casinos themselves did not for years. Sometime after 2012 up to 2017 NYS went to court. The new Governor came in & CLOSED (Froze) the casino's funds. Within 24 hours the Governor relayed these funds to the BUFFALO BILLS stadium project.
Fund amount to my understanding was published like this --- 25% of the funds from these slot machines over the years equaled 565 MILLION.
The Seneca Nation should be very proud of this donation - it is going directly to the stadium & BILLS Mafia.
Fan Duel / Draft Kings & all the other gambling books out there would never do anything like this for a community. GO BILLS

Another well researched video Lee. NFL owners have a great gig with communities throwing massive sums of public dollars their way.

I’m gonna love this new stadium. There’s just something about having an outdoor stadium built in the age of the translucent/retractable roof. The canopy is a nice touch too

pls do a Modern Ruins video on the Kingdome in Seattle, home of the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Supersonics, and Seattle Sounders. To this day, it's the only stadium to host the MLB, NFL, NASL, and NBA at the same time.

You know, I’m not a huge football fan as I didn’t grow up around western New York, but I always feel and lean toward underdogs or places that I don’t think get enough attention. The Buffalo area has had a lot of decline and struggles for decades now, and although the Bills are part of the NFL, that has boatloads of cash, I still think the Bills are more than deserving of a new stadium after all this time. Even the fact that their stadium isn’t located right in the heart of a thriving downtown of a major metro, and isn’t enclosed and teams have to brave the elements, I think is easy to admire and be behind. So I say good for them, and can’t wait to see it when it’s completed. There are so many pro sports that are right in the heart of a big downtown, have a big enclosed or convertible stadium, have tons of fans even outside the U.S., and sort of have it easy. But I feel like the Bills are the total opposite of that. They feel tougher, more blue collar, and unusual. I like that, and I wish more of that could be embraced in pro sports.

correction - NFTA is not the Niagara Falls Transportation Authority - it is the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. - fact checking is always something you should do - you have been wrong with your comments many times in the past.

Hey is there a website or something to be able to watch the progress of the build? Would love to be able to watch from afar here in Denver. I appreciate the info and the videos.

I thought the same thing when I first heard about this but apparently it’s a culture thing the fans don’t want a roof they love those crazy snow games and they think it gives them the ultimate home field advantage
