Syracuse dome is more of a ballon than a dome. Its is a fantastic idea for college. I think NFL has great idea with epic massive facilities that the franchises have been building.
This was the worst stadium deal in the history of stadium deals. A VERY poor city with one of the highest poverty rates in the country. Taxpayers are expected to fund a stadium for a Team that has NEVER and Probably will NEVER win a championship. The NFL is a business and like any business they want to showcase their BEST product to the public. WNY and team that has NEVER won a championship is not a showcase product. Then there is the fans. They call themselves a mafia? Really? So now they have a bad team, an overpriced stadium that will haunt them for Years, and they equate themselves to crime lords and drug dealers? That's what the mafia is. Thugs and goons. But I suppose that fits a city that holds on to its dying teams. Dont get me started on their garbage hockey team the Sabres. Move the Bills to LA or somewhere where they have a chance. They are doomed if they remain in Buffalo
Clearly, they've never spent 5 minutes in the Buffalo area. A downtown stadium would kill the NFL in Buffalo. The open lots in Orchard Park are what makes the GameDay scene so special. The tailgate experience is an equal draw as the game itself.
Absolutely right. A downtown stadium will kill the tailgate. My first game we parked in a persons yard for $10 a good distance from the stadium and the home owner offered us hot chili and a place to use the bathroom if we needed it. Won't get that kind of hospitality without a tailgate.
@@allanritz5323 remember the players making angels in the snow after the game - many of them had never seen snow and were enjoying the experience of playing in the snow and "playing" in the snow.
Was it soul crushing when the Bills had to play a game this year in an indoor stadium in Detroit because of the “iconic weather?” The Minnesota Vikings were legendary for playing games in the cold and snow. Look where they are playing now. I’m sure their fans have gotten over it .
Sadly, a downtown stadium has many hurdles you don't mention. As someone who grew up there, I know many of the issues... the biggest being space. The city was designed long before football and quite frankly, parking is at a premium. To build a stadium down there, means you need to build parking. For Hockey, that's not an issue. For a big football stadium.. that's a BIG issue. Not to mention travel. Points south only have 2 ways into the city. A bit of snow and those can be dangerous to even shut down. You also have so many buildings in the city that are labeled as historical sites that you would have trouble with that too. Honestly, if they wanted it on the waterfront.. the old site of the Lackawanna steel plant would be a decent place to look. Just south of the city, it's quite a bit of empty space. and only a few miles from the city limits. The best part of Orchard park.. they have the infrastructure in place for the games already and the parking. Keep it close enough to the current site is really the best move as it save rebuilding the much needed parking.
They do have the rail line from I believe UB with a few stops in between that would help a little with the parking but the biggest thing that a downtown stadium would kill is the tailgating because of the space u mention. The Lackawanna steel site would be a good option as it already burned most of it down anyways and it's an Eyesore but then again u would probably have the historical freeks not wanting something tore down. I like the idea of moving it across Abbott rd and then turn the old stadium into parking
They would never be able to accompany all the tailgaters, as well as the sheer volume of cars entering and leaving the stadium. Orchard Park is the better choice for so many reasons. I also live here btw.
@@om7303 only some... if they could add rail service... that would be nice.. even for just everyday commutes... but sadly, if they've not done it yet.. I wouldnt look forward to it ever happening
Honestly the stadium isn’t in the middle of no where it would be in the suburbs where the majority of bills fans are located. It’s sort of like how Gillette stadium is in Foxborogh and not Boston. There are so many advantages to this because it’s much more accessible not only to fans from their home but also just on the day of a game. The best tailgate in the NFL only exists as such because it’s located in the suburbs. Having it in OP and not having the dome are not only financially sound options, they are straight up better for the brand of the Bills. This was a great decision even if it was based in money.
I agree 100%, OP is definitely the better and easiest option, could u imagine trying to get out of the city after a Bill's game. The only good thing is the rail line that goes downtown from UB but like u said it would not be as good of a tailgating location. I like the idea of moving across Abbott rd then turn the old stadium into a parking lot, the only thing we can't loose is the Hammer lot lol. Also putting a domed stadium in really makes no sense, there is no better experience than being out in the elements playing football the way it was meant to be played..
I live in Tonawanda. Personally, I am never in orchard park unless it’s something to do with the bills. I’m not originally from WNY so if I’m wrong, please forgive me but the south towns get hammered with snow, I very rarely travel south of buffalo city limits. Orchard park is a good location because there is not a lot of people in orchard park . I forgot what point I was trying to make. Welcome to UA-cam
The team is Called the New England Patriots not the Boston Patriots when they moved out of Boston they changed their name when the Bills did it they kept Buffalo where they don’t play anymore
@@dylonmartinez7946 Cities always cover large regions it’s not insane to have it in the next municipality over. You’d be surprised at how many stadiums aren’t actually located in their “named city” not sure why that matters.
Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey, who used to be the richest owner in all of sports, tried desperately to build a dome in Boston. But even with all that money, he couldn't get past the bureaucracy.
I think the Orchard Park option is the one with less political baggage. If they were to pursue a stadium in the city then they have to go through the time-consuming process of acquiring the land by hook or by crook. This ties the issue up in court for years and pisses people off. Something no politician wants. Your previous point that they will never host a Superbowl anyway even if they build a dome stadium means the stadium is going to be of somewhat limited utility anyway. Also, what's the rush? The Bills have been looking into getting a new stadium for a long time so this finally settles the issue. If they are smart then they should do something similar to the Patriots and have some other commercial developments in the area.
You can be sure future development will follow, I laugh at these people who seem to think the stadium needs to have a giant shopping mall, 10-15 hotels, 20-30 restaurants, and all other kinds of crap - Since the existing stadium was built (some say 40+ some say 50+ years ago) have people complained about the lack of bars, the lack of restaurants, the lack of hotels, the lack of shopping malls - no. I will guarantee you that 90% of those businesses would go under within two years because people are going to the game and then want to get home. The Bills have restricted drinking in stadium for years, and they have vendors selling items all over the stadium to make money not only for the vendors but for the Bills office. I go to football games to watch and enjoy the game - not to get drunk, not to stuff my gut and be uncomfortable. What are people thinking.
@@johnadams8371 true - but there is one study that has to be completed and it is being worked on - I have never heard of this type of study done for any other NFL team - what I understand and watched and listened to them speak on Buffalo television - a group has formed and they are demanding the Buffalo Bills provide some kind of services/whatever to the community (I assume that to mean the inner city). What most people know is that the Buffalo Bills team members donate time, talent, experience and money to the inner city and the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Bills Mafia, the Bills management and the Bills owners donate hundreds of thousand if not millions of dollars to charities to and for the people of Buffalo and people /players/teams country - wide. I may be wrong but I have a take-away from this group (and if I am wrong I ask that you write and correct me) they are trying to capitalize on the success of the Buffalo Bills, their management and their owners and get money for the inner city. I ask, I plead with anyone who believe I have written the objectives of this group incorrectly or misstated the objectives of this group to correct me.
Why replace the current stadium? This is what the problem is with the NFL. You've got stadiums college that are over 100 years old. Keep these stadiums running and appreciate the history
Basically there's only 5 stadiums out of 30 with any real history and 2 are marked for destruction so soon it will only be Arrowhead, Lambeau, and the Superdome(being somewhat generous counting that as historic imo). Carolina and Jacksonville are going to have the 5th and 6th oldest stadiums when this is built lol
@@brandynhenry7107 excuse me Brandon but the NFL has indicated that there are at least 10-15 stadium that need to be nor repaired but torn down and built new. Argue with thew NFL. History of a stadium doesn't mean a thing to the NFL - it is the building that matters to them and many other considerations I will not go into because I would only be wasting my time on those who are set in their ways and are "stuck in the quicksand".
How old are those stadiums that you write about? How up to date are their facilities? How up to date are their locker rooms? Do that have parking on site for thousands of vehicles,? Do they Have good police protection? Do they have so many things that the NFL requires? You know nothing about these facilities yet you recommend them - you are at the end of the fishing line and about to fall into the lake. THINK!
@@brandynhenry7107 the NFL has targeted 10-15 stadiums - (don't know if the list has been made public but people are allowed to assume) - I don't know what stadiums are targeted but feel certain they are both open-air and domed. Found it interesting Brandyn - I already answered your comment with basically the same answer as this.
You lean towards the downtown location because you probably don't live here. The waterfront would be a disaster for a stadium. The traffic would be massively insane, and we don't have the interstate or road network to accompany. Would be a weekly inconvenience for everyone. As opposed to out here in Orchard Park where 1. There's room for the fans/tailgaters. And 2. The road network is time tested and has the ability to hold all these cars, as well as the residences on the nearby side streets that have been able to park us on their private property for years which also stops the stadium from having a monopoly on the pricing.
big true. they are already doing a nice job developing the waterfront and adding things to do downtown. we dont need a stadium downtown. We already have the Sabres arena and the Bisons baseball field downtown. also, OP is literally a 15 min drive from downtown so if visitors really want to check out the city its just a few minutes away down the 90.
Amazing video as always! Im a big fan of this channel....Idk if youve done this yet, but could you do a video on the Tampa Bay Rays or the Oakland A's? MLB said theyre going to expand after those cities get new stadiums, or if the teams have to relocate.
I am not a fan of baseball, but I will write this, and you can take my written words for whatever worth or worthlessness you read - Most sport teams are always looking to get more, and new facilities and they don't want to pay for those facilities - they want the taxpayers to front the entire cost - how do they do that - they threaten to move the team to another city. I say this to you - don't give in to the team owners - they have to pay at least 65-70% up front cost and it has to be guaranteed with money in an account that is not controlled by the team. I will guarantee you if you pay the cost for new facilities the owners will be back in 5 years looking for upgrades at taxpayer expense or "we will move our team to another city who will give us what we want". Don't play their game.
real grass field? hell yes. OP is a nice location and makes it easier traffic wise. It's literally a 15 min drive to Downtown Buffalo too. Also, if you were to ask anyone who lives in the suburbs where they are from they will tell you Buffalo so for those who say they shouldn;t be called the Buffalo Bills, you are just wrong.
almost unheard of to build new grass stadium these days but is old element of game sadly missed Green Bay like only one I know of with grass.and now State Farm Stadium in Arizona has grass but wasnt to good for Super Bowl
yes it was and we all know the original stadium as "The Rock Pile" - those were the days when the Bills were the league winners in the old American Football League until the NFL shut them down and they became the Buffalo Bills in the American Football Conference vs the NFC - the National Football Conference - names and divisions have all changed since those days but remember our winning quarterback Jack Kemp? You can watch some of those AFL games on You Tube believe it or not - I have.
@@rhh3582 So You have a Great Memory of the AFL ALSO. I don’t know if Ralph forced Lou Sabin to Quit or If Lou quit on his own which we will never know, BUT I Have to believe if Lou had not quit after the 65 Season, HE HAD A TEAM THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BEAT THE PACKERS IN THE FIRST SUPER BOWL that went against Kansas City. If Saban could have beaten the Packs, The Trophy may not have been the Lombardi! Joel Collier lost in the 66 Championship game to the Chiefs and then the Bills went down the Toilet until Saban came back with OJ Simpson and Made the Bills Respected again!
There are lot of other considerations to be considered when locating a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills football team. A major consideration for the Orchard Park location is the relatively new training facility which is considered state of the art location next to the existing stadium and is considered the best in the NFL and would be available and close to the new stadium for the Bills football players - training and conditioning are an absolute must for players of the Buffalo Bills level. A consideration against a downtown location is the traffic pattern - literally dozens and dozens of streets would have to re-routed and widened and utilities would have to be relocated. Downtown Buffalo does not have the space for such a large structure and the costs in relocating those facilities would add more than a few billion dollars to the cost of a downtown stadium. Also to be considered are the private dwellings that would have to be destroyed, businesses relocated and other unknown facilities destroyed/relocated - but to where would they be located - if they are relocated outside the city of Buffalo that will terribly impact the fiscal status of the City of Buffalo. The city can not just go and extend its size limits so legal battles and court cases would have to be settled and that would take years to do. Orchard Park is outside the Buffalo city limits that is true but consider this - the New York Jets and the New York Giants are not even located in the state of New York yet are known as New York State teams - your point about being located in Orchard Park is moot and frankly - stupid. Back to the Orchard Park location - less interruption to civilian population because it is mainly open land - granted there is a higher level education facility located on the property being considered but the relocation of the school to the city of Buffalo would better serve the city, the county and the student body which the school serves. The existing stadium as I understand would be torn down which would create more parking space and revenue and parking would not have to be on private property at high cost as it is now with the existing stadium. As I understand the proposed design of the new stadium in Orchard Park would be larger in size than the existing stadium but there would be less seating but the amenities would be much better and there would be standing room on the upper level for an additional 5,000 persons which by my estimate bring the person attending games level to 67,000 or about 3,000-4,000 less than the current stadium and the new stadium would be partially covered for fan comfort. The distance people would have to drive to the new stadium would be quite similar to what they drive now whereas if the stadium were to be built in downtown Buffalo nothing but mass traffic jams and confusion would result and widened road would involve the demolition of addition buildings so roads could be widened and where would parking space be located - would parking towers (more than one would be necessary) involving costs in the millions of additional dollars and how much more of the downtown business section would have to be demolished not to mention the legal hassles and delays into the 2030's. While it is true the new stadium would seat fewer persons they would be seated in better comfort and would be willing to pay more for a comfortable seat and better amenities. Most import the Buffalo Mafia would be able to continue with tailgate parties in Orchard Park parking areas which they could not do in downtown Buffalo and that would be a terrible blow to the Buffalo Bills Mafia know the world over. There are many other items I could mention in favor of the Orchard Park facility but I know the Buffalo Mafia and the Mafia are the people who support the Buffalo Bills. It is true Buffalo is one of the smallest football cities (what about Green Bay) but they have always had the highest attendance in their present location during the life of the existing stadium (this according to NFL records). It is true the population of Buffalo is not as large as those monster domed cities but the Buffalo Bills Mafia draws from Niagara Falls/Fort Erie/Toronto Canada and other Canadian areas in addition to Niagara Falls/ Lewiston/Youngstown/Rochester/Syracuse and other communities in New York State. The Buffalo Bills are loved by their fan base and do support them (example when Josh Allen's grandmother died Buffalo Bills fans contributed more than 1.5 million dollars to the Buffalo Children's Hospital and when player Knox's brother died Buffalo fans have at earliest count contributed more than $250,000 to his brother's memorial cancer fund, - not many teams/communities with football teams in large cities do what the Buffalo Bills Mafia do and "Buffalo is a small city" - think also about the ball players who live in the suburbs of Buffalo who would have to commute back and forth to downtown Buffalo daily in traffic - think about the tv crews and their equipment - which is massive - where would they park in a congested downtown Stadium area. You yourself have said that Buffalo is a small town city - where does all the space needed for a large stadium go in such a small space. Your reasoning is not on point it is totally off point. LaBreeceTV my impression of your video is to have the Buffalo Bills move to a larger city - which you indicated would be Austin Texas. Your thought processes are totally off point and wrong. The best place for a new Buffalo Bills Stadium is Orchard Park and the Buffalo Bills Mafia (where ever they may come from to attend games and in whatever kind of weather) will fully support the Orchard Park Buffalo Bills stadium. Take your video with its hidden meaning of moving the Buffalo Bills to a larger city and leave the Western New York Buffalo Bills in their new stadium where they belong. We the people of Western New York support our sport teams and love our teams - your video is against all the people of Western New York not just some. Your words, thoughts and videos are not welcomed by Buffalo New York citizens and our Sport Teams - so take your Texas cows and go roam the wilds of the state of Texas one of the most uncivilized states in the 50 United States where citizens of the state are not treated as equals and the state is governed by a man and party so biased the words equality, freedom , liberty and justice do not exist. As an added thought - you mentioned in your video "private ownership" how many NFL teams stadiums are owned by their the teams owners. The New York Jets and the New York Giants received literally millions upon million for their stadium from the taxpayers of New York and they are not even located in New York. I will personally debate you or any of you associates at LaBreeceTV about stadium locations in the 50 states of this Union.
I would like to add a few things and I would but you got it fully cover. Thank you for commenting for the Buffalo Bills fan and the Bills Mafia. How long have I been. Bills fan you ask.? My first game was at the old rock pile lol. I am 67 years old. My Buffalo Bills Win Lose or draw they are MY BUFFALO BILLS. Again Thank You.
Let's hope that Buffalo gets to host the NHL's 20th-anniversary Winter Classic in 2028. Having a new stadium would be a positive step in having that happen!
do you know any business that doesn't try to make a profit? What you don't realize is that part of the ticket price goes back to the state and Erie County because the money for the new Stadium is not a grant, not a gift it is a loan that needs to be paid back in 30 years. A large portion of that money is coming from the pockets of the Pegula family. Now where does the revenue for the Bills come from because you seem to forget the Pegula's have to pay the salaries of the Buffalo Bills players and the entire staff of the Bills organization in addition to the triple digit millions they are paying toward the stadium. Open your ears and listen to the news I find it hard to believe you are as dumb as your writing suggests.
totally agree with you - as I wrote this - what flashed before my eyes was the words from a movie you may recall "Field of Dreams" - the words "build it and they will come" - so it is with all small-town markets and there are man - and they will come! But the big bad wolf wouldn't allow that to happen - the NFL is money hungry if you catch my drift.
@@lesterpaul9657 Your answer is in the number of years the Buffalo Bills have played their games in an outdoor non-domed stadium - think back to the high points of the Bills games and not the lows, think back to those games where the snow on the field was 6 inches deep and the game continued. Like all people in all types of weather - you adapt with the proper clothing/uniforms. Right now I have a picture in my mind of Bills players making angels in the snow after they won the game - that doesn't sound to me like they can't play in cold weather or snow. Your point I would guess is one of three reasons - you don't like the Buffalo Bills, you don't want the Buffalo Bills to play in Buffalo or you don't want to use tax dollars and parking/amenities revenue to pay for the stadium along with the dollars coming from the owners of the team, the NFL and a portion of the ticket cost. You are not a Bills fan.
It will be an open-air stadium with a covering of approximately 65% of the seating area but the rest will be open to whatever nature decides - and that is the way football was originally played and that is the way I believe football should be played now and in the future.
@@lesterpaul9657 Lester those are questions best asked of the coaches and players of the Buffalo Bills and not of You Tubers and I have already given comments to your questions - do you not know how to read?
no dome but the seating area will be 65% covered to break wind and weather - and from what I have heard the seating will be much more comfortable and the view will be 10-15% times better than it now is.
So so true GR - football is an outdoor game and should be played outdoors - our stadium is an outdoor stadium. Something else that is going to happen the NFL is going to demand that all football fields be natural grass - can natural grass grow inside a domed stadium without sunlight, fertilizer and a watering system? And how are the teams who play inside a dome going to respond to the NFL - better yet - how are the taxpayers who payed for those domes going to respond?
Buffalo city limits is only 52.5 sq miles, that’s 825 less than Jacksonville.Buffalo didn’t incorporate the city into the county, most of the city space is occupied, so location is irrelevant. The city location would be a traffic nightmare. 100’s of people would be displaced. No tailgating in the city location, lots of room for the Bills Mafia to crash down on flaming tables in OP. I was at the final Bills game at “The Rockpile”, the old stadium was considered obsolete at 40 years old, the same age as Highmark. To this video creator, it’s all about the dollar, so it’s a future marketing tool to bring business back to Buffalo.(we have water) And Bills fans are top merch buyers. When we move we stay Bills fans for life.
I have already written all that you have written and ten times more. You Tubers only read what they want to read that agrees with their personal point of view. I have written so much about the new stadium, and I have written so many replies that really answer all the questions and concerns about downtown vs Orchard Park, but I have yet to have a reply to even one of my comments. I am tired of those who are stuck in the mud, those who suggest moving to another place, those who suggest we do all kinds of changes to downtown Buffalo, those who don't even know what downtown Buffalo looks like or even those who don't live in this area. I am tired of all of them. The literally make me sick with the stupidity they show and write. I am sick of them. I have lived in this area for 80 years and I know this area very well I know what can be done and what can't be done yet sone 20 something twerp comes along and says let's destroy all of downtown Buffalo for the stadium - lets tear down more of the city for parking, Let's forget about what doing all this is going to cost billions and in the end we will not have a new stadium because we won't have a team to play in it. Good luck you twerps.
The 1st renderings look what a renovated Highmark Stadium will look like if they used portions of the existing structure. Bills are a small market team and the existing area to build a stadium makes sense
The existing structure will be demolished and turned into a parking area. No more talk about the Highmark Stadium - It will, hopefully, be replaced on opening day of 2026 - parking area will be available within a year+ later.
To be fair taxpayer money is what is building the new Bills stadium, 850 million dollars of Public funds to help a billionaire get a new stadium that won’t even be eligible to host a Super Bowl, Nashville which is a more wealthy city and not struggling half the amount of Buffalo only gave the Titians (who have been better and won more then the Bills) 500 million to fund their new stadium
$500 million in 1996(?) is close to a billion dollars today. That's a lot of money Nashville invested for some fat ass crybaby oil tycoon from Texas The Pegulas also owns the Buffalo Sabres and were screwing with the county seat to uproot both the Bills and Sabres to Austin, TX. Problem is, Buffalo know that these two teams are their one asset they can't allow to leave. What else would the city have?
My question is….. why is our tax money funding privately owned businesses. The bills team is a business that generates 470 million and over the last year made 38.2% more. We can’t be the ones funding these billionaires companies when they chose to start a business. I know as fans we go to these buildings to support our teams but it’s not our job to pay for these things…our purchases from ticket and memorabilia should be enough. This clearly shows you how terribly our tax money is used instead of investing it in our small communities.
If things don’t work out in Buffalo then St. Louis should definitely get the Bills the Dome is still there and they can use it for a few years until a new stadium is built and St. Louis is a much bigger market than Buffalo.
I see both arguments. An open air stadium is what we’ve grown to love here in Buffalo because of the experience it offers and the optics. A dome however would provide another venue that could host more than 8 games and a few concerts a year. I guess it comes down to how long it would take to pay for it.
I honestly don’t think it will take until 2026 for that to happen. Their trajectory puts them in the super bowl THIS year. Anything less is a disappointment.
Something I heard this past week - two Super Bowl games were played in an open-air stadium on the east coast in the dead of winter - I believe I know the name of the stadiums, but I want to check my facts first - I do know this there will never be a Super Bowl game in Buffalo even if we had a dome - the NFL has a thing against Buffalo ever since the old AFL became part of the NFL - and they never liked Ralph Wilson - Mr Pegula is a different personality - he is likeable and as far as we know easy to get along with - we don't know what the other NFL team owners think of him. As I wrote earlier - we have our hopes and dreams and we know we have a damn good team.
My understanding is the last game at the existing stadium pending no construction/legal delays will be the end of 2025 and the first game in the new stadium will be in 2026 again pending construction/legal delays.
The stadium where it is a perfect area, putting it downtown would absolutely destroy the city, and traffic. They already have issues with game days. Having it across the street is a win win.
what it is going to cost you in increase taxes is probably less than the money you spend on drinks each week - quit crying and do two things - don't watch any of the Buffalo Bills games and two stop drinking.
Number one is cost, number two is the design of the new stadium and the land it will occupy, number three the seats themselves will be larger and more comfortable, there will be more open space and less congestion and there is the probability that there will be standing room for 5,000 somewhere on the upper level. So, in total it will seat/stand 67,000 - that is from what I understand of the present stadium a loss/gain in comfort of 8,000 at most (this is subject to change). Also, there will more areas for concessions and beverages - so which would you rather have - more people squeezed into their seats, less bathrooms, less concession/beverage areas and more congestion. Your choice. I would prefer the first three over the last one.
@@tesla3695 you have no idea what the ticket price will be - Even Bills management haven't evaluated what the costs will be for seating, but they have said that they are keeping in mind their fan base and their middle-income status and that is something you should know - they are thinking about you - no other team would consider their fans - they would just go and hike the prices as high as they could - that is not the Buffalo Bills. They are concerned about fan costs. Think about those people who are paying $40 to park their cars on someone front yard right now. No one can predict what the cost for anything will be in year 2026 so why worry now for and about the unknownthree years away.

@@johnadams8371 Could host a couple University of Buffalo football games, Buffalo has a Spring Football League team, they also. have a professional Soccer team, they could host a Bands of America invitational, Monster Jam event, weddings, business meeting and special events in the suites, concerts, host an NHL game like Wrigley field has done. The opportunities are greater than you may think. Mixed use developments could certainly be constructed over time around the stadium. Even minor league baseball stadiums have spurred development such as in the downtowns of Ft. Wayne Indiana and Greenville, North Carolina. Indianapolis is another great example with the Hoosier Dome constructed in the middle of the city in 1984 and being replaced over 10 years ago with Lucas Oil Stadium which has really helped the downtown. Buffalo has a great opportunity.
2 of the biggest issues with putting it downtown are parking and getting the land which Buffalo has a lot of historical buildings that the historical society would have wrapped up in red tape that it would probably be years before they even started building. Oh and of course it would kill the tailgating gating
Ever been to a Sabres game(18,960) in downtown Buffalo??? If the Bills were downtown(65-80,000) we'd have to leave for the game on Saturday morning & wouldn't get home till Monday afternoon even though it's just a 35min drive for most
I live in Buffalo. There's no land near a highway to build a stadium (as was covered in this video) and there's no big roads leading to a highway that would work. Getting out of a sold-out Sabres game downtown with only 16,000 (or so) fans is a nightmare. 60,000+ fans would suck completely. The only way to build in the city itself is to raze a few shitty neighborhoods and build some roads to highways. But, there would still be shitty neighborhoods left around the new site and we'd be stuck with the same problem that kept fans away from the LA Coliseum: leave your car in the parking lot to watch the game and come back to a vandalized vehicle. The Rams left town because of this many years ago. The main artery through the city is the Kensington Expressway (constructed in the 1960s) and the State and local leaders want to fuck it over with construction of a stupid roof that will take ten years to build (and probably fail shortly after a major snow storm). The city proper is not big enough to build a current-era NFL stadium. When the Bills started in 1965, they played in War Memorial Stadium (in a now-shitty neighborhood)... a WPA style-less monstrosity also known as The Rockpile until it was demolished after the Bills went to the suburbs. There's a downtown baseball stadium in Buffalo, but its for minor-league ball. The Toronto Blue Jays played their home games there during the pandemic while Canada went into hibernation. But, fans weren't allowed into the games. That stadium hasn't held it's full fan capacity since it was brand new, several decades ago. Luckily, baseball typically doesn't have to deal with inclement weather like the NHL and NFL do, which can snarl traffic.
In the 1960s the Dallas Cowboys played at the Cotton Bowl and ownership wanted to build a new downtown stadium to get away from the Cotton Bowl as the neighborhood around it was seedy and dangerous. The city balked at helping build the stadium so the Cowboys accepted an offer to build a then state-of-the-art stadium in the suburbs in Irvine, Texas (Texas Stadium)
The late WR for the KC Chiefs Otis Taylor wrote a book called "The Need to Win" and said of all the NFL stadiums he ever played in War Memorial Stadium in Buffalo was the absolute worst. He said the KC team bus would be pelted with eggs and rocks going to and from a game. He also wrote that you had to run to the locker room as fast as you could after a game otherwise the hot water in the dressing rooms would run out. LOL
The Buffalo Bills are quite happy in Buffalo and want to stay here. Would it surprise you that many former Bills players still live-in Western New York - they believe Western New York is a nice place to lived.
The biggest thing that prevented them from the downtown location was the necessary displacement of the chunk of population that resides in the area they were looking to build. I’m sure cost played a factor but they couldn’t justify the housing and businesses that would have been torn down to make way for the stadium and necessary parking.
not only the demolition of said places but the cost and legal cost would be in the several hundreds of millions of dollars - who would pay for those cost?
@@MarloSoBalJr I dont know there are plenty of cold weather football stadiums that do just fine financially playing out doors and I'd say have a good if not great return of investment. Go look at green bay for example, they are one of the smallest markets in the league and they have no issue with the amount of money the get from packers games alone each season.
Agreed. It will be very disappointing if they decide to put a roof on it. The weather does not have to be perfect for the superbowl. The superbowl is just another football game. Football is about the crazy weather. Was also very disappointed when the Vikings decided to build an indoor stadium

Buffalo has been developing at fast pace in recent years. OP is a suburb a lot more green space. Like the previous comment it’s only 15mins away from the city
Please remember the movie "Field of Dreams" - the most famous line "build it and they will come" and come they did - that applies to the area around the new stadium - remember there is already a neighbor next to the new stadium a University/college - don't know the number of students but they have an athletic field so that tells me something. If you are thinking shopping malls, big box stores - now way - but remember food and beverage will be available in the stadium - for those who want to go to a bar or restaurant - I have a warning - you can't drink and drive and you can't steer a car with your hand full of food - and a further warning - you better believe that area will be well policed - so don't say you haven't been warned. If small Mom's and Pop's want they can build their own places but everything now and in the future carries risk.
I feel like the Bills and State would of been better off going halfies on a replica of the Seahawks stadium. Give the added bonus of being MLS complaint for when the inevitable "Can Buffalo have a MLS team?" happens. If that wasn't to his liking then he can relocate em to Austin as he threatened and Bills Mafia can act accordingly outside his buildings near the Sabres arena. I look forward to much alcoholism and spine severing via table slamming in their new stadium regardless.
Ben Y - the design of the Buffalo Bills Stadium is final, the location is final, the cost divisions are final. what isn't final yet is, and this is apparently a cultural thing I've never heard happening in other NFL locations, an organization wants to know what the Buffalo Bills are going to give back to the city. Right now, I know the Bills as individuals and their fans give a lot to the city and the people of Buffalo and the community - I don't know what this cultural thing is all about but as I understand there are negotiations on going - I believe I know what is wanted and I don't want to get into a cultural war. But in theory, these people could cause the entire stadium to fall apart and then I guarantee you the Buffalo Bills would leave Buffalo and those "cultural wonks" will cry saying "it isn't our fault" - Bullshi* it will be your fault and believe me the people of Buffalo will get even.
why will you miss the snow - the stadium is an open-air stadium - snow will certainly fall within the confines of the new stadium - in fact it was design just for that open air wseather.
there will be snow games - the new stadium is an open-air stadium - the entire field is open to the elements, snow, rain hail, sleet, sun, whatever - and I know those who attend the games will have a better view of the field than they do at the current stadium - the new stadium has what is known as stacked seating. I myself don't know what that means but those who do say it is good for those attending the games.
It's not in the middle of nowhere orchard park is only a 20 min drive if that to Buffalo. There is no place or space for the stadium in downtown Buffalo. There isn't enough space for parking either. It's hard enough for a Sabres game or Bandits game to find good parking ever since they made canal side it just seems harder to find parking. You put an nfl stadium in there you will have tons of traffic delays. There is no room to really add a train and not enough staff for people to just ride buses. Orchard park is the perfect spot.
Youre right, plus OP is still Buffalo to ppl from here. It may be a 15 min drive outside of the city limits but if you were to ask anyone in the surrounding suburbs where they are from, they will say Buffalo. Buffalo is not just the city limits, at least not to ppl that live in WNY.

The NFL will never allow the Buffalo Bills to host a Super Bowl even if they win a Super Bowl. The NFL has forever had a thing against the Buffalo Bills from their days in the upstart AFL (Buffalo wone several championships in the AFL with Jack Kemp as quarterback) - with the success of the AFL the NFL set out to destroy the competition and eventually the AFL became the AFC in the NFL, and the NFL management hated the Buffalo Bills owner ralph Wilson. Now, please tell me it'll be open air............ I dislike domes simply for the principal effect the weather can play in a game, I mean who in their right mind wants to visit upstate in January for a playoff game (apart from polar bears and penguins).
they would save money on snow removal if enclosed or retractable roof. But state footing entire bill insane most stadiums mix of private and public funds. It doesn't benefit anyone in rest of state beside in that area. Why has been uproar
i mean to be honest if your gonna spent over a billion dollars building a Stadium you really may as well pay the extra for a retractable roof hell keep it open most of the time but just whenever it's a bit too much weather close it

Cool video. Most people that live in WNY or the greater buffalo area agree that a downtown stadium would not work. Im happy they decided to put it in orchard park again. everyone is used to it. it is frankly tradition. its still a nightmear trying to leave pr get to the current stadium. especially a concert. Downtown would be a zoo and ruin the massive tailgate environment everyone loves
The Designers and team management are working with the state of New York on access to/from the new stadium. One thing is a certain - there will be increase parking probably at a cost when the existing stadium is torn down - it is going to become a massive parking area so some of the existing neighbors might not be happy because people won't be paying to park in their lawns now.
Lmfao stadium investment thousands of times over have proven to never be worth their “investment” in the stadium. You put in over billion dollars for 60k people to use 8 days, maybe 10, a year lol. Absolutely insane for a small place like Buffalo. Imagine what the teachers, fireman, police, and local industry could do with $1 billion
I believe you mean it is connected instead of contacted to - Yes it is true the Buffalo Bills have a large Canadian fan base - they also have their own professional football team the last I knew.
Tell me you’ve never been to WNY without telling me. While OP is not Buffalo being 20 mins outside of the city allows for easier transportation, better parking and our traditional tailgating. None of these would be easy or possible in the city. Nor is it “in the middle of know where”. It’s not completely uncommon for states to pay the bill and while the Pegulas should be paying more they are paying something. As far as the stadium only being used 8 times a year is just wrong. Many concerts, community events, HS games even rec games. The Ralph is 50 years old. Its long over due. The region deserves a new stadium. The condescension in this video is egregious.
The Pegula's for your information are paying a lot more than had originally been said. Don't sell the Pegula's short - they like the people and the city of Buffalo. They like the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabres, the Buffalo Bandits, the Rochester American Hockey Team and other small teams. They have invested in that building right across the street from where the Sabres play - that was paid for with their money. I don't know who these you tubers are who write in the negative - I don't know where they are from, I know nothing about them, but I do get the feeling that they are against anything with the name Buffalo. That the same feeling I get from the NFL. I unfortunately after having lived 80 years I feel like some of those writing are living in the darkages or are on the far far political right and are anti anything. For years Buffalo had the expression "Talking Proud" I don't have that feeling anymore - I get the feeling that the I is more important than the we and I am saddened.
Building in OP just makes more sense....easy to get to.....lots of parking, thus great tailgating.....cheaper.....faster to build. It's biggest critics seem to not live here.
Thank you for agreeing with me - and you are right about those "critics" - I have told several of them they better hurry and wipe their ass before they run out of toilet paper (that's a little harsh but with what some of them have written well deserved.
It would have never been built in Buffalo, just look how the politicans screwed up Bass Pro being at Canalside. Too much greed and they pulled their store. Carbelas was the same, they put their store in the suburbs.
It would be pointless to put a dome on a stadium in Buffalo expecting to get a Super Bowl because of it. They're never going to host a SB in Buffalo when it takes place in early February. Its hard to justify hosting a huge worldwide event in a city that would probably be in the middle of a snow storm at the time.
1st - TY for the video. Kim Pegula has way more to do with the Day to Day business of the Team. She is 52yrs old. They have adult children. How which one is Jessica Pegula a pro tennis player & WTA ranked 11th in the world at one point. 2nd - Pegula's have already done a lot for the city of Buffalo NY. A hotel & 2 ice arenas at least. 3rd - Orchard Park NY is NOT out of the way. It too is close to Interstates & with easy access. 4th - NFL is Not the only league that might be playing there. I hope they build for soccer, HS, NCAA or Pro. Buffalo hosts1st round March Madness all the time.
Thank you for the Pegula information - - If I had written those words they would have been ignored now that a different party has entered the picture maybe people will realize how lucky Buffalo is to have the Pegula family in our midst.
Russ Brandon was fired unceremoniously from the organization for having inappropriate relations with female staff who worked for Pegula Sports and Entertainment. Jeff Littman was a "Yes" man left over from the Ralph Wilson era. Litman got into a heated argument with Bills one-time GM Bill Polian which led to Polian's firing by Wilson in 1993. It was from that point on the Bills descended into mediocrity on the field including missing the NFL playoffs for 17 straight years. It was interesting that Littman left as soon as the Pegulas bought the team. It was likely because they wanted to purge the organization of every last vestige of Wilson's era.
Dont see anything wrong with keeping it in Orchard Park, but there should be more seating, not less. They sell out every game and I personally find it hard to get tickets.
i mean yea like why the hell would you build a new stadium and have less seating ? very stupid here is all the Bills need to do build a stadium increasing the capacity to a total of 80,000 install a retractable roof so it can remain open most of the time but if the weather gets a bit too much it can be closed that's really all you need
Are you waiting until the last minute to buy you ticket? You can buy online, you can buy using a cellphone, you can go to the ticket window and there are several other ways you can buy tickets. Don't say you can't get a ticket - I suggest you really haven't tried until the last minute - and to me that would be like waiting in an airport to get a ticket for a seat on a plane that is already full and ready for takeoff and asking for a ticket to board the plane. The new stadium is design for people - the seating is going to be more spacious and comfortable, there are going to be more restrooms, there are going to be more concession/beverage areas, passageways will be more spacious - the view of the field will be ten times better than the current stadium and 65% of the seating area will be covered. From what I understand sedating will be 62,000 but there will be standing room for an additional 5,000+. Remember when the original stadium was built it could seat 80,000, but during its lifetime changes were made and the seating was continually reduced - I understand at the absolute most the stadium now seats 73,000 and they are all jammed together like sardines in a can. You have to wait in long lines to take a pee and you suffer the weather. Godman what do you want. I will tell you there is no way that any person/group would spend more than 35-40 billion dollars to build a stadium that you want. Be happy with what you are getting and that you will have a football team to watch.
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 you raise the 35-40 billion dollars that is what it would cost for what you want as a stadium you will have a deal if you have that kind of money because that is what the cost is for what you want. Do you have that kind of money to finance that kind of stadium?
The Bills management said they have yet to determine the cost of tickets for the new stadium, but they have indicated that they will keep the price of tickets reasonable for our middle-income community - they know if the price is to high people won't attend the games - don't think Bills management is made of dumb people. The expected opening date for the new stadium isn't until 2026 - that's quite a while from now - I wonder - did you know that the Bills are the lowest cost tickets in the NFL - the Bills want to keep their fans so you can rest easy that there most probably be a cost increase, but it won't be more than is reasonable for our middle-class population - and consider this - the cost of everything in 2026 will be more than it is now.
Crazy thing is Pegula is a billionaire and wants public funding for the new bills stadium. I think he should pay for it himself out of pocket instead of forcing tax payers to pay for his team's new stadium 🏟️.
I don't know that they can change their team name - the stadium they play in was built and paid for by the taxpayers of New York State so there might be legal restraints against name change with the state of New York and the NFL. And who the hell in Western New York cares about the Chargers right now when we are writing about a new stadium for our Buffalo Bills.
Sacramento once had Arco Arena for the NBA Kings in the Suburbs of Natomas. Easy to get to, lots of parking and in a reasonably safe area. In 2106 they moved Downtown to the Golden One Center. No parking, impossible to get to and the K Street mall has a serious problem with crime.
It doesn't work that way - there is a specific area in play - the new stadium will be built and hopefully finished for the start of the 2026 season and while games are being played in the new stadium the old stadium will be demolished and turned into a large parking area. Done, final, no change
The Buffalo Bills have signed an agreement with the State of New York, the County of Erie, the NFL and the Bills have all signed a 30 year agreement. - Nothing in that video says the Bills are going to leave - you have had a little more than enough drink for one day/night.
I kinda think it should be on a rotation for the super bowl once every 32 years ... small markets should be allowed to get the benefits from the biggest game of the year
They basically share almost everything equally and benefit wildly from it I don't see how this should be any different. The super bowl is on such a level it transcends where it's located at anyway, it doesn't need to be held in LA or Miami to be an attraction
you guys can’t cling to small market values and expect to be rewarded with mountains of riches. this country and the nfl are a business. not charity. Support more forward thinking policies and people might actually want to live in buffalo lol
they can't because of the risk of severe weather i mean the last time Metlife stadium hosted the big game they just about avoided a massive storm that landed not even 6 hours after the superbowl ended so from that point on it's gonna be Southern Stadiums and dome stadiums
No way the NFL will ever allow that to happen - at least for the next 20+ years. The word is MONEY - $1500 for a seat imagine what a seat near field level costs in a dome. To me paying this kind of money to see a game they could see better on tv at home is crazy and the people who pay that much are crazier. And don't forget all the out of stadium activities the NFL charges for - The NFL makes billions off the super Bowl - no way is the NFL going to give that up to a smaller market.
Don't you dare move the BILLS they are perfectly fine were they are at in orchard park new york they have everything they need here at Ralph Wilson stadium its a great stadium I swear moving the BILLS to a different stadium would be the stupidest thing in the world that would just ruin our reputation in sports in Buffalo new york if they would move the BILLS some were else that will never happen cause the BILLS are obviously a Buffalo team and the logo shows it.
Please feel free to comment your opinion on the recent new stadium developments so we can better understand fan sentiment for future updates.

I also live here btw.
park & ride fixes this
@@om7303 only some... if they could add rail service... that would be nice.. even for just everyday commutes... but sadly, if they've not done it yet.. I wouldnt look forward to it ever happening
this is why you build good public transportation along with it america has enough giant parking lots already

If they are smart then they should do something similar to the Patriots and have some other commercial developments in the area.
it’s already going to be in OP. done deal
Not to mention the huge infustructure overhaul

@@tesla3695 Exactly, they're throwing concerts down there and stuff. It's more of a scenic setup. A giant stadium there would be an eyesore.
My favourite moment at the stadium was the nhl outdoor winter classic . Buffalo sabres vs Pittsburgh Penguins 08

yes it was and we all know the original stadium as "The Rock Pile" - those were the days when the Bills were the league winners in the old American Football League until the NFL shut them down and they became the Buffalo Bills in the American Football Conference vs the NFC - the National Football Conference - names and divisions have all changed since those days but remember our winning quarterback Jack Kemp?

So the public pays for it....then pays for tickets.....and the owners make profit off of it.....something doesn't seem right here.
do you know any business that doesn't try to make a profit? What you don't realize is that part of the ticket price goes back to the state and Erie County because the money for the new Stadium is not a grant, not a gift it is a loan that needs to be paid back in 30 years. A large portion of that money is coming from the pockets of the Pegula family. Now where does the revenue for the Bills come from because you seem to forget the Pegula's have to pay the salaries of the Buffalo Bills players and the entire staff of the Bills organization in addition to the triple digit millions they are paying toward the stadium. Fun to watch yes, but is it fun to play?
Ask a player how it feels to have almost no grip.

As someone whose spent his falls and winters for the last 15 years going to bills games; a downtown location would ruin the fan experience.

Sorry - the NFL has ruled that the now HighMark Stadium has to go - it is build new or the team goes to another location.
the existing stadium will be torn down and converted into a large parking area.
That's a lot of money Nashville invested for some fat ass crybaby oil tycoon from Texas
The Pegulas also owns the Buffalo Sabres and were screwing with the county seat to uproot both the Bills and Sabres to Austin, TX.

This clearly shows you how terribly our tax money is used instead of investing it in our small communities.
not worth my time to comment on negatives
If things don’t work out in Buffalo then St. Louis should definitely get the Bills the Dome is still there and they can use it for a few years until a new stadium is built and St. Louis is a much bigger market than Buffalo.
I see both arguments. An open air stadium is what we’ve grown to love here in Buffalo because of the experience it offers and the optics. A dome however would provide another venue that could host more than 8 games and a few concerts a year. I guess it comes down to how long it would take to pay for it.
I predict the Bills will win their first super bowl on the same year they play their last game at Highmark Stadium.
Maybe win the Super Bowl all 3 years they have left in Highmark!!
I honestly don’t think it will take until 2026 for that to happen. Their trajectory puts them in the super bowl THIS year. Anything less is a disappointment.
We're winning this year.
Having it across the street is a win win.

yea, thats my only real complaint tbh. less seats higher ticket prices.
@@tesla3695 Yup and ruins the atmosphere. Those cheap seats are the loudest sections in any stadium. End up with a crowd full of caviar eating yuppies
@@corp4life342 i swear ppl complaining about it being in OP (a 15 min drive to downtown) are not from WNY.
I read and understand exactly what you are saying and agree with you.
LOL

The biggest thing that prevented them from the downtown location was the necessary displacement of the chunk of population that resides in the area they were looking to build.
Tim Hortons Field in Toronto, ON
Why don't they just renovate the old place?
you mean High Mark Stadium?
@@manuelgrothe608 Oh, please. I hope they don't change the name every year, like the Dolphins do.
As a Niners fan, I alwys liked the Bills, but will miss the snow games.
as a Jets fan you made a massive mistake tearing down CandleStick Park
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Yea, the fucking city was on our nuts
they are not making a dome. snow games will continue.
why will you miss the snow - the stadium is an open-air stadium - snow will certainly fall within the confines of the new stadium - in fact it was design just for that open air wseather.
there will be snow games - the new stadium is an open-air stadium - the entire field is open to the elements, snow, rain hail, sleet, sun, whatever - and I know those who attend the games will have a better view of the field than they do at the current stadium - the new stadium has what is known as stacked seating.
Could you imagine Western New York hosting a Super Bowl? Neither can I, LOL!
It doesn’t meet any criteria to host a Super Bowl, fans would be sleeping on the streets
@@dylonmartinez7946 Niagara Falls?
@@MarloSoBalJr still not enough rooms for people to stay in plus the Traffic would make it 2 hours to get to Orchard Park, it takes me over 40 minutes to get parked on regular game day and I live 3 miles away near Abbott
Never will the NFL do anything for the Bills - but they are helping to finance the new Bills stadium because New York State taxpayers paid for the New York Jets/New York Giants new stadium located in the state of New Jersey.

Couldn’t they build it near the University, and they can both use it?
Don’t think the university needs a bigger stadium, though.
There isn't enough room near the downtown University, but they are building the new stadium next to the university in the south towns area. The south towns campus remains in place - the school and the stadium in effect become neighbors.
We had another bad stadium deal for a small market team

Now, please tell me it'll be open air............ I dislike domes simply for the principal effect the weather can play in a game, I mean who in their right mind wants to visit upstate in January for a playoff game (apart from polar bears and penguins).
come to austin texas, please
they would save money on snow removal if enclosed or retractable roof. But state footing entire bill insane most stadiums mix of private and public funds. It doesn't benefit anyone in rest of state beside in that area. Why has been uproar
License fees and agreements just to buy tickets !End of tailgating!!
facts not rumors, documentation not gossip
How about a dome that opens and closes? You could have things like the NCAA final four games and other events.
i mean to be honest if your gonna spent over a billion dollars building a Stadium you really may as well pay the extra for a retractable roof hell keep it open most of the time but just whenever it's a bit too much weather close it
Do you have 35 billion dollars - the word is THINK.
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 The last dome that was built and it doesn't open or close it is stationary and is open to the elements at all sides and ends costs 6 billion dollars located in LA. I seem to remember one of those moveable domes being closed - or it was suppose to close but it got stuck mid function - is that what you think is good and wanted - I say to you one word THINK.
So exciting!
Who's going to pay for this?
@@joedimaggio3687 I assume you are writing about the new stadium - the breakdown is this - the State of New York, the County of Erie, The Pegula's and the NFL will pay the estimated 1.4-billion-dollar cost. I know you will complain about using state taxpayer dollars for the Bills stadium, but I'll bet you don't remember the state financed the New York Jets/New York Giants stadium and that stadium isn't even in New York State - it is in New Jersey - did you complain about that deal - I'll bet you didn't even know anything about your New York state tax dollars going to build a stadium for two football teams bearing the name New York but don't play in New York again - they play in the state of New Jersey.
@@rhh3582 yes I did complain about it. Building stadiums with tax payers money is a total waste. The New York Islanders just built an arena with 100% of their own money. The Islanders even covered 75% of the cost for the new Elmont long island rail road station that is near the arena.
@@joedimaggio3687 and Dear Joe - who did they get that money from - name sources and if not mistaken aren't the Islanders a hockey team and most hockey facilities seat at most 20-25,000 people - the cost difference is enormous and I know the cost of the Islanders games - they ain't cheap. @@rhh3582 how are they going to make money with this stadium? How many days in the year will this new building actually be used?
I think the bills stadium is nice
Lmfao stadium investment thousands of times over have proven to never be worth their “investment” in the stadium. You put in over billion dollars for 60k people to use 8 days, maybe 10, a year lol. Absolutely insane for a small place like Buffalo. Imagine what the teachers, fireman, police, and local industry could do with $1 billion
do you live in wny?
although buffalo is small it contacted to a huge market of Toronto
I believe you mean it is connected instead of contacted to - Yes it is true the Buffalo Bills have a large Canadian fan base - they also have their own professional football team the last I knew.

I love football but downtown stadiums in any city is an eye sore. Especially at a waterfront
thank you for agreeing with me.
A downtown stadium would kill the tailgating
correct - no open flames and no public open container drinking
You mean the house taxpayers built
Tampa Bay is a top 15 market?
who carews
It would be pointless to put a dome on a stadium in Buffalo expecting to get a Super Bowl because of it. They're never going to host a SB in Buffalo when it takes place in early February. Its hard to justify hosting a huge worldwide event in a city that would probably be in the middle of a snow storm at the time.
I would go with a dome or move to Austin Texas.
Then they might as well build a dome
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 see below
It means higher prices for tickets
How much do you think he has spent developing the waterfront? Dude's the reason the Bills are still in Buffalo and not Toronto. You are not from here.
This is GREAT news!! Hope the Jets rename to: New Jersey Jets, and the Chargers go back to San Diego.
It's about time!!!
A downtown stadium??? WTF?!?
Sacramento once had Arco Arena for the NBA Kings in the Suburbs of Natomas. Easy to get to, lots of parking and in a reasonably safe area. In 2106 they moved Downtown to the Golden One Center. No parking, impossible to get to and the K Street mall has a serious problem with crime.
No more talk about California - We are in Western New York and we are proud of our Buffalo Bills - keep on topic please.
@@rhh3582 It is on topic, it can show what can happen when you move from a stadium in the Suburbs to one down town.
What does it mean for the tax payers of Buffalo? If the tax payers are paying for this stadium than it's bad for the people of Buffalo.
do what most teams do. build the new stadium in the parking lot of the existing one then tear down the existing one to make it the parking lot
It doesn't work that way - there is a specific area in play - the new stadium will be built and hopefully finished for the start of the 2026 season and while games are being played in the new stadium the old stadium will be demolished and turned into a large parking area. Done, final, no change
Why would you spend a billion dollars on a stadium that has no roof wont host a Super Bowl and would eventually rank last in capacity?
Means they better have at least one ring before they play in that new stadium
After watching this video I am convinced the Bills are going to leave.
How could you possibly get to that conclusion? The stadium deal comes with a guarantee of them staying for decades!Smh
The Buffalo Bills have signed an agreement with the State of New York, the County of Erie, the NFL and the Bills have all signed a 30 year agreement. - Nothing in that video says the Bills are going to leave - you have had a little more than enough drink for one day/night.
With that many corrupt politicians what could go wrong. Hello to the Toronto Bils
Downtown stadium was destroyed by poor leadership across the board. The private proposal was destroyed by this high level ignorance.
