Adele has such an amazing voice. She rather reminds me of Dusty Springfield and Amy Winehouse. I love Adele's music - thanks for playing this & your comments. Insofar as heartbreak songs, Austin Brown wrote a few after a hard breakup some years ago - the live rendition of "Love Me Like That" is heart-breaking.

I remember driving my son to college and this came on the radio. I asked who it was and he told me Adele. A little while later, after changing radio stations, another song came on. I again asked who it was. He, again, told me it was Adele. I bought the CD on the way home.

She wrote and released this by the time she was 21! An amazing talent, she sings, writes, and plays several instruments. No need for a big production, sexy costumes, or hordes of dancers, she commands an audience by just standing there and singing. Signed to a recording contract at 18 after graduating from a London school for the performing arts. To appreciate her growth and evolution as an artist, listen to her albums in order, they're named by her age at release, a snapshot of that time in her life. This is from her 2nd, 21. The others are 19, 25, and 30. Her live videos are more than worth a look, too. She's very chatty, and funny.

This song is not about her ex husband it was released in 2011 when she was only 21 and before she got married . She does write from experience and is therefore very authentic . The video is pure expressions of rage . Anger is what we use to recover from pain but we only get over it when we let go of the anger as well. Nearly everyone experiences all these emotions which is why it has such appeal. She is funny intelligent down to earth and articulate. She writes like a poet and sings like an avenging angel . Definitley checkout more music she is not a one hit wonder . For originality and wit try Rumour has it . Also you should see what she can do with a large crowd try reacting to her performance at the Glastonbury festival - iconic You won't be disaapointed by anything you hear from her.

I’m certainly not the biggest Adele fan but her talent is undeniable. An absolute powerhouse vocalist and pretty good writer. Perhaps my favourite YT clip is the night she was ‘discovered’ and was invited at the last minute onto Jools Holland’s ‘Later’ as a young 17 year old who nobody had ever heard of because it’s such a raw and authentic performance. If I can find it, I might post a link to follow this.

Definitely the Adele rabbit hole is worth a visit. May I suggest a couple of corkers: Someone Like You - the live version from the Brit Awards 2011 (trust me on this - live and RAW - when the emotion gets to her at the end.) and for something a little different: The final carpool karaoke with James Corden - live singing AND a real flavour of Adele’s spectacular character and humour. Well, well, well worth a watch. ❤️

Yes Brits have soul. People have misconceptions especially toward English people who are assumed to be to the manor born. Up until my Grandad, my family were sent to work down mines, mills and on fishing boats aged 11 and even younger generations before. There are folk songs packed with soul which are overlooked.

Adel is just an icon already. She is just astounding, even if not one’s particular style of music, you cannot deny the talent. If you want to watch another brilliant singer, from the other end of the spectrum, but still very talented, opposite style of musically, listen to Billie Eilish, Bellyache. Total different, love them both, but very different. Bille is so young when she did this song, it will boggle your mind. She’s all of 21/22 now, and I remember watching her video 5 years ago. She Adel share the ability of grabbing & holding your attention, then being really good with their craft.

Commenting on stuff in the video is great, but you know, it's so good to hear you comment about the singing and herself, because Adele as a person and her voice are just so intense. She sings from direct experience, and the relationship she's singing about is not the most recent one (the marriage). It's the one she had in her youth, the one she still bears the scars for - and like many people who had that heartbreak very young it takes a lot of work to remove that emotional baggage. You are sad and hurt but you are also angry. She uses her incredible personal strength and amazing songwriting abilities to exorcise her demons over and over again, and we get to hear her journey start to finish. She is a beautiful, gutsy person and has been through a lot, but she's just a normal person like all the rest of us, she has no airs or graces. 'Common as muck' she says laughingly. But boy, does she have a voice and a soul. The first time she ever played 'Someone Like You' on the piano to her mum at home, her mum started crying. She gets you in the feels. And she does it every single time.

You've opened your ways into the Adele world, and it's just stratospheric in here! Checkout One and Only, Set Fire To The Rain, Hold On, Skyfall, When We Were Young, Oh My God and Someone Like You!

Angelic voice. Power voice. Beautiful Human being. Sweetheart of a person. No bad songs. Writes her own stuff ... has an Oscar for writing one of the BEST Bond themes. Interesting how you mention Amy WInehouse; Her and Adele were friends and schoolmates

There is a way to write music that mixes science and the art of writing music. It's mathematical, varying in pitch, volume, tempo, and rhythm. The way Adele creates/writes music and lyrics follows this exactly... whether she does it purposely or not.
