After having recently seen the F-35 up close and photographed it, you almost have the correct grey for the main body color...the only difference is that on the actual aircraft it almost has a sort of brown cast to the grey, and then of course the Have Glass sheen as well. Oddly enough the RAM panels are no longer a lighter color, and now, in some angles, such as when that sheen is on them, they appear to actually be slightly darker than the main body color. I took several hundred photos of it in flight and on the ground, so I'll have to go through them and have a good look from every angle. Great build though! Dont sell yourself short...its definitelg show-worthy.
Well done. The F-35 has "grown" on me over the past few years. As noted in other comments a big challenge on the F-35s is getting the RAM tape color correct. Early versions were very stark, similar to what you beautifully created. It seems more recent examples the color is almost identical to the paint on the rest of the bird. Also not sure if they are still being painted in Have Glass Grey....an interestingly different gray shade....no two paint manufacturers seem to match. Again...well done. Earned you a sub.
It most definitely is still Have Glass grey with an almost slightly brown-ish cast in the right light., and the RAM panels are also now painted a very similar color to the main a/c, maybe even slightly darker, and when they are in the shiny area of the sheen they really stand out as they don't seem to reflect like the surrounding skin.
Very nicely done. I have this kut to build but after watching a recent video of 12 F35's leaving RAF Lakenheath that where all 1 colour, I will not be doing the RAM lines and saving myself all that hassle.
thank you! that sounds like a mega video i’ll have to try find it! when it comes to ram tape you can now leave it the same colour as the fuselage as recent editions of the F35 seem to have blended in ram tape :)
Question, does the cargo doors (where the missiles and bombs are) able to close, aslo does this jet have an alternative look like a flight mode (gear up, everything closed) looks awsome my favorite military aircraft
Very nice outcome. That ram really does seem a tedious job! Saying that, the F35A I've seen at Lakenheath doesn't have the ram so obvious. Not sure if it's because the B is sea going.
thank you sir!! the ram definitely tested my patience i’ll say that much, from what i know they take the ram tape on and off the aircraft a lot for maintenance and what not!
Ahh that may explain things, I guess it fades over time. Will you try the Tamiya A version?? Have seen it and if it's anywhere near as well engineered as their F4 and F14 it will be a joy to build
I think it would have been nice if the canopy was open. Nice job, mate 👍 I'm just waiting for Italeri to bring out the f-35 b in 1/32 scale to go with my A version.
Thank you! I’m eyeing up this Tamiya F35-B to potentially have that one in the open position, I don’t think I’ll join you on building one of those 1:32 ones!! My shelf would collapse! How did you find the a variant in 1/32?🤨
Not a bad kit, but the grey is still wrong...😁 I've got the new Tamiya kit and their paint code is 2 colours mixed together, ijn grey and nato brown, but like you said it's your interpretation of the model so it doesn't matter what colour it is... nice work.
thank you for the comment!! i hadn’t a clue what paint mix everyone else was using so when i get round to making another one of these beasts i’ll be sure to come back to this comment! thanks again :)
Look at a video close up moving around an F-35 and you will see it changes all the time. The same plane can look as brownish metal, dark blue, grey, violet.... I highly doubt it is even possible to downscale the colour (colours) to a 48th. Been think about maybe blending some titanium with a satin varnish over some dark grey/blue basecoat....
@@machmodels I just found out it is called HAVE Glass paint. MR.PAINT MRP-280 Camouflage Grey (FS 36170) MRP 278 Others make a grey with metallic bits, but MRP are the only brand I have seen with a grey basecoat and a metallic clear coat on top. Just put in an order for the Ilaleri 72nd and will try my first idea on some chips, maybe even a chameleon pearl powder in the mix, to get those purple greenish sheen effects Will report back
A huge thanks as well to my friend Harry for supplying this kit!! The video wouldn't be possible without him :)
Great build mate, and you sure made it much less difficult. Nice kit, and your experience helped our experience tremendously, thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much! Always glad to hear it be of some use😄
That was terrific! It was really fun watching you build it and it looked so good when it was finished
Thank you very much sir! Really want to revisit this airframe soon👌🏻

thank you very much!! im glad you agreed with my colour choices… which is a first for me😅 thanks for the sub, more content is on the way!!

Love Italeri great kits to build together.❤😊👍🤗🤩😍🇮🇹🇮🇹🇺🇲🇺🇸
i can agree to some extent! not always the most reliable but always some fun
Wonderful job on this handsome aeroplane. Lovely clean finish and the RAM detail is top class👍🏼
Thank you so much! The RAM was mind mumbling boring but I’m glad you appreciate it🤣🤙🏻
from the looks of the parts breakdown and assembly the Italei kit is a rebox of the old kittyhawk kit
Hmm interesting, i’m not personally familiar with the Kittyhawk kit… but I would be surprised if that was the case!
Excellent detailing
thanks a lot!! glad you noticed ;)
Very nicely done.

I believe it is yes to both of your questions!😁
Hello Mach Models, very nice jet F35B Lightning 2 nice kit model jet fighter. Fantastic.❤😊👍🤗🤩😍
thank you very much neil!!
Great build 👍
thank you!! glad you enjoyed :)
Great job!
I built the Tamyia F-35A and the weapons bay took three days alone just to paint up and put together. Do you have any plans to make one?
Thank you sir! I do in fact have a F35B that is screaming to be done soon…
@@machmodels can't wait to see that one! It'll be awhile before I even think about building one of those again 🤣😂
Nice build! What was the niggle with the gun pod?
Honestly I still haven’t a clue! I think I just can’t have the bomb bay doors open and also have the gun pod attatcjed.
i think that you shoud do a tutorial on how to dry brush things

id love to!! but i don’t think my bank account would love to🤣
it looks great for a Italeri kit
I definitely think it’s good! but when you have F35 from tamiya on the market it’s hard to justify in my opinion!
@@machmodels yeah and for the price you can get the Tamiya kit
I really enjoy your videos 👍
glad to hear that mate!! helps me make sure i continue to make them :)

Hi i would like ask the fixing is good?
Because tamiya is very expensive but i see it's very good finished.
If you can afford it I would go for the tamiya :)
I understand.
Thanks
Nice F-35B! I have this kit too but worry about the large seam of the wing/ fuselage 😢
thank you! the seam is definitely a let down for the kit but it can be sorted out with relative ease… just some patience might be needed!

Yup it sure does!
wait do i have to buy a drill to to make the holes that they were supposed to do it for us?
bruh
Lovely build 👍
