@@DlCKWALLACE in great league it’s just the same crap all the time… Dd, sabaleye, trev, Regi, medi, swamp, g-Fisk (and occasionally basti), nido, umbreon. These Pokemon are all common at high and low elo. Pick good counters like scrafty and you’ll be fine. Scrafty is just pup and win anyway

Been struggling in the 2300 Elo range for a couple of seasons. Would very much appreciate more of this type of content. Will definatly try out shadow Nido as I've hade a good one for a while but just opted for other pokemon.
If you are struggling around 2300, as I did for a while, it is almost certainly energy management and just basic understanding of match-ups that you can improve. I am not anywhere near prominent PvP'er, but having hit Veteran a couple of times that is what i usually experience. It is not necessary to predict teams to succeed before you get up in the 2600+, i got stuck there last season since i did not have time to go in-depth. :)
@@NicoKristianLund that is true and that's where I improved and continuing to stick with one team. I went from 2210 as a personal best ending ELO in season 10 to ending over 2500 last season.
4:58; 7:01--another consideration of play i've found is get the GFisk into the yellow and then swap into DD to lure out any Trevenent or Sableye. I've found with a GFisk lead there is a Trev or Sableye in the back.
As a new PvP and Pokemon go player, I approve!! More of these please MrR. I'm still trying to learn the phrases (like CMP ties, proper timing etc etc), plus typing's and what to shield and not to shield. It goes on and on, so much to learn!!
19:58 I believe it was Jamie who told me in helping me learn this line that if a Scrafty lead you always swap to DD, always go the softer counter to the Scrafty and save the Nido for later.

I got my ELO tonight. Last season I started with a personal best of 1985. Continuing to use Jamie’s line and facing all sorts of Legends I start at 2044 which is a new personal starting high ELO!
I feel like learning proper move timing is one of, if not the, simplest yet immediately actionable things that anyone can do to improve at this game. We saw multiple times in this video how much advantage Jamie gained from just sticking to proper move timing
I’ve found dd is one of the most difficult mons to play in great league so props to Jamie for really learning how to use it! I think it’s even harder to play in the back, just so many sableye and trevs lurking in the back

@@nicvane8751 depends what you’ve used… I honestly feel legend is easy to hit if you’re running full XL mons, especially stat-product abusers such as Regi in UL or just broken messes like sabaleye. Also, bad is the wrong word. Inexperienced maybe? Remember most players aren’t legend hitters, nor have a huge expansive comprehension for pvp. I assumed you were one of these people given your comment. Dd is not hard to use… manectric on the other hand, is.
Definitely enjoy watching these types of videos. Like many of us have been struggling to hit Legend. I reached Expert level last season, but hitting Legend would be nice
I would love to see a pvp mechanics guide for all the stuff that's not quite as intuitive (e.g. effects of CMP tie vs delayed CMP tie, the different fast move speeds and throwing off/on alignment). A lot of the timing elements are keeping me stuck

I caught wind of this same team at the end of last season, but I used Trev instead of DD. Got me to 2800 Elo and expert after being stuck at 2450 most of the season, and it has performed very well to start this season.
Idk where I saw this but.. I been leaning towards tapping then throwing the move when having two charged moves ready… I didn’t know it did anything. Good tip!

I like these videos, can see when to use fast moves at the correct timing and practice. Got to ace this season with this help. Just need better IV Pokémon and to actually get some like Registeel and shadow Nido
Would love it if this trainer could submit more videos to see how they play out various leads. Maybe try doing a poll and getting like 5 teams together and going really in depth into them? You could even team up with some legends who use the teams (fellow content creators) and have them add their own thought processes into the mix. Some cross-content creator pollination.
Hey Reis, would you want to see battles of a spicy charge move team (inspired by CallumOnToast but different mons)? Just wondering before I go all out and use 2 gigs of storage. Loving the content as always.
One line this team will struggle with is Drapion/Sableye/Swampert, even if Sableye or Swampert leads, this line will struggle with it because if Drapion is swapped in Nido isn't gonna particularly enjoy that match. The best case is Swampert on the swap so DD can handle it and save both shields for Umbreon. Nido is dead weight pretty much against this particular line i've found.
My friend was running Nidoqueen for like 6 months before it got buffed. I remember trolling her because it was her favorite Pokémon. Now it's a staple in the Great League Meta. I'm still on team Nidoking.
I still like power up punch than ice punch for medicham.. even if you're just baiting for shield you'll still get some benefit even if it doesn't hit.. specially as a lead but I could be wrong..
I use almost the same team, I sub goon for umbreon and I’ve had a lot of success and fun with it because everything is so spammy and if goon gets the boost it’s so oppressive
I’m entering my 4th GBL season. First season I hit ace basically on my own, didn’t watch any UA-cam. The after taking it more seriously my second season I hit veteran. Then last season I struggled in the mid 2300s. Was I just not playing well or did it seem pretty sweaty last season?
wow im jealous of his great IVs (not to detract from the battles). I love nidoqueen, but been playing a 100 umbreon while waiting on a replacement to invest last resort on (gave to hundo since it will still be useful in UL). This might sound stupid, but is some moderate attack good on nido (or other shadows) because of ties? maybe I'm overthinking and that IV is about as good as it gets after purifying
I truly hate how strong nido is. As poison types generally aren't that strong right now. And it will only get a blanket nerf to either fang or jab. I personally think fang should cost 5 more energy and do 10 less damage. Nerfing jab will decimate so many bug poison types
The game where he safe swaps his nido in medicham when the Sableye goes down on the lead wouldn't it have been better if he had stayed in with the umbreon and try to ko the opponent's own nido and keep a full health DD to deal with the medi? Cuz I think you could get to 2 foul plays in that matchup if the nido doesn't throw and even if you don't fully ko DD can farm down. Cuz when he swapped out into the DD Nido had 8 poison jabs worth of energy. This was the only game I believe he could have played differently and still win. Let me know your thoughts on this... am I right or am I wrong? Just an objective thought.
Hey reis I've been playing around with a gfisk/ araquanid core. Currently settled on water gun lanturn as a third but I feel like the team could be better. Any thoughts or advice?
This is my GL team as well. Jamie has been helping me get the hang of it as well. I made Veteran for the first time last season because I stuck with this line and kept learning it.
Last resort only does 1.4% more to a medi. If you need to just spam moves, I use foul plays vs medi. If I need that extra % in a final hit in a close game, I may go last resort
I'm pretty sure it's how the fast moves are counted. Each fast move takes so many turns to complete the animation for that move, from that you can count how much energy gained towards a charged move. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will correct me
I feel like no matter what I do I will always reach ace rank. Only one other time (season 8 I believe) I reached veteran based on pure luck. Whether watching these videos or using the techniques from content creators it hasn’t made a difference for my PvP run. Once I reach ace after knowing when go battle day is I will tank my ELO down to 300 and then go ham on go battle day for that massive stardust gain. Y’all can tell me to get better or get good but I can’t get better when I have the worse luck in PvP where it’s always hard counter city or loss of CMP tie.
@@nicvane8751 then explain what I’m missing then. Counting-check doing my best on that. Sac swap-check though I lost more on that as they seem to know when I’ll go for it. Catching-check tried that too no success Energy management -check farmed up as much as possible before throwing and still lose. Shield management-check I lose the 50/50 decisions. Team comps-check always getting out comped even with teams that look amazing on paper.
@@Sparky92891 it’s a bit more complicated than a checklist of things. All I’m saying is players that consistently hit legend or consistently hit top 50 in the leaderboard aren’t lucky. Just focus on improving you’re gameplay and you can hit legend for sure.

Even so it still doesn’t stem from the fact that I can’t progress past ace rank consistently and I’ve gone 11/11 when it comes to not hitting legend and this season will make it 12/12 that I will not hit legend
Hey reis I have a really cool idea I don’t see any other creator doing, that I think a lot of newer pvp players like my self would love: You can start a series where you can take viable teams and show us in detail how we can use the team to push to legend or more. Just like in this video. Show weaknesses and strengths and how to win from bad leads etc. And you maybe name the series after Kobe’s show “Detail”🐍 💛💜

DD is hard to use because Sableye is on every third team and can really take huge advantage unless you play correctly.
Yeah, I love DD, but it definitely feels trickier to master than, say, Swampert. lol Not all mons are created equal.

Solid team, solid analysis. Just went 5-0 with it. I ran it before with Psychic CM Umbreon, but Last Resort is better, especially for Umbreon mirror.
I don't expect to ever be an expert at GBL, but last season I made it to Veteran for only the second time ever, and I was super excited about it.

(Side Note) Stone Edge shadow Nidoqueen is incredible for surprising people. ALMOST everyone assumes you're on the standard moveset.

i use this team but instead i use Azu instead of nido you need something to fight swamp and charmers

You can start a series where you can take viable teams and show us in detail how we can use the team to push to legend or more. Just like in this video. Show weaknesses and strengths and how to win from bad leads etc. And you maybe name the series after Kobe’s show “Detail”🐍 💛💜
