- Long before the advent of the Impossible burger, there was Uncle Victor! He was one of the OGs offering vegetarian dishes inspired by local favourites like satay, otah and bak kut teh - all made out of beans!
P.S. His otah tasted so good, our meat-loving intern is a convert ;)

Just had satay and otah from this stall. AMAZING! I called the uncle to make sure everything is vegan, and he was nice enough to reserve some for me. As a vegan, the only food that I actually miss is otah, so the otah made me super happy! The satay was really good too; first time I had satay in 20 years!
My family love otah, but having grown up in Australia, it is one of the few dishes that I cannot warm to (along with Durian and bittergourd soup).

I am a vegetarian and visited his store a day after the video came out! Tried the satay and otah and it was SOOOO good!!!!!! I haven't had otah as long as I've been vegetarian so thank you so much for featuring him!!

I was able to try their ota but sadly the satay was sold out. It was around 7.30pm and was glad to see him there. It's very easy to be vegetarian in SG.

I used to go to Circuit Rd for vegetarian food when visiting from Australia.
There was an old uncle who used to make the tastiest roti prata, but he is long gone now.
For my prata fix, I now go to Zi Zai Zai Vegetarian store in Yishun (I don't think Tampines Zi Zai Zai make prata anymore).
I say to my Xing Gan Bao Bei, "eh I wan buy HDB near Circuit road, you know". She say, "Won't lah". I can still dream ah.
Now circuit road has alot of new upcoming hdb flats. Alot of newcomers now.
This made me want to be a vegetarian😂
