Dear Father! Please give Jessica full relief of this disgusting nausea, that's the worst! Father, please heal Jessica not only from this surgery, but from this cancer and anything else messing with her body! Thank you so much for providing her Brian for such love, comfort, and companionship! Lord, thank You for providing Mayo Clinic, of all the places in our county, You have provided the best one to her! Please continue to provide financially for this precious couple and as they walk through this fire together, please help them to keep their senses of humor for those occasional moments that really are funny! In Jesus' name, Amen!

after having a cancer related radical hysterectomy at the age of 36, i ended up with an infection that kept me in the hospital for 13 days, unable to eat. i went home with a bag on each side, and had to wear them for weeks. my mom called me the bag lady. I'm happy you have brian to see you through the pain and discomfort
Hang in there Jessica. I feel in my heart you are going to make a full recovery. Healing takes time. You will do this. Gas is a horrible thing after surgery. Prayers all the way around.
This is probably par for the course after major surgery and not really “setbacks”. With each day it is bound to get better. “One day at a time” is the best way to look at it. You are in the best hands between the Mayo team and your wonderful Brian! Hang in there! Prayers going up for you! ❤
Bless your heart. Praying you feel better. Two weeks ago, I flushed my PICC line and wound up in the hospital a few hours later with a blood infection. The first nurse in the ER placed my IV in the bend of my right arm. I questioned her choice. When it blew a hour later, same nurse went for the bend in my left arm. Within a couple of hours that IV blew. There I was, with a dirty PICC line that couldn't be used. Getting stuck over and over again for new IVs. Spent 4 days in the hospital and still bruised up. My heart goes out to you. ❤️
So, so, sooo looking forward to that day when you and B come back and say, "I've reached remission and cancer free!" That will be an awesome day and one we are all cheering for. God Bless you Jessica.
I am so sorry you are both going through this. I am on a journey with terminal autoimmune (SSc) and multiple myeloma (MM). I completely understand the things you are going through. Prayers and positive energy your way!
The way you are documenting this journey gives such a clear picture of what it is like to navigate to healing. Sending all the love and hugs in the world.
100%. I’ve said a ways back, but this is such a huge blessing for all of us. I feel like we’ll all either go through it or be helping a loved one at some point. Love the comments from those who have been through it as well. Sharing this with us all is SO much appreciated.
As totally rotten and fed up as you are, your smile is still blinding! You are a total inspiration. The best sign is that your sense of humour is intact and fully functioning. Get lots of the healing B hugs and know that you are being bombarded by love from all of us. Ps Love the fuzzy glow from all the new growth - it looks blond!
Will come back blonde and curley ..Hubby's going to think he's got a new lady..A friend of mine, her hair came back curly and black.Praying for you ...
Sorry you are going through this. Alcohol swabs help with nausea too, when I was in the hospital they brought me a pile of them and said to open one and inhale it if I was nauseated, it worked!
Oof, when you said “I just want to feel normal,” I felt that. So many of us take that for granted until we get sick or injured. I hope you feel more normal every day!
Fighting that monster is not for sissy's nor smooth. It takes a strong person and after watching you - you are that person and with a beautiful attitude. Wishing you the best and sending you a hug.
I had the same surgery, plus lost my colon, bladder lift and reconstruction. I felt worse after coming home and ended up back in hosp with severe dehydration. Take one day at a time. Surgery is really hard on the body.
I dislike seeing Jessica feel so unwell. I want to give her the biggest (most gentle) hug ever. You’re doing awesome, Jessica. Brian is such an amazing Husband/Soul. Lots of Love & Strength to You Both ♥️✨.
I know you had hopes - but I’m so grateful you are in the Mayo system. I hope your recovery takes a positive turn now. I just am moved to tears by the loving bond you and B share. Thank God for that love and care between you. Sending prayers to you both every day.
Jessica, I don't know if you will see this, but you spoke straight to my soul. In July I perforated my gallbladder and had to have major abdominal surgery. Because of some complications, they were unable to remove my gallbladder and I have had a drain for the last 6 months to try and let it heal. Even though I have a wonderful, supportive fiance (very much like Brian), it is very hard not to let this kind of stuff get to you. The pain, pressure, nausea, and feeling like this will never end can really get to you. When you said "I just need a hug" I felt every emotion wrapped up in that. Sending you a hug and letting you know you aren't alone either. We will get through this!
Jessica, your body has been through so much. It stands to reason that it’s going to take time to heal. So please don’t think of this is a setback, but rather your body adjusting and doing what it does best to get you better! Our bodies have amazing healing powers and hopefully, you will see improvement every day!!!❤
Some times pain causes nausea and nausea causes pain. Then the medicine for them slows down you digestive system which leads to gas, pain and nausea. I feel for you. Bless you and Brian. Hard to be strong. Thank you for sharing your journey.
You two are such a beautiful example of an amazing partnership and love. I teared up Jessica when you were talking about missing your man, just wanting him back with you. I could hear and see the longing and desperation to get your life back, your B back. You are so amazing. You are showing up and handling every single mountain before you. You are kicking ass and getting better. Brian- you are the example of what a good man and husband is.
I’ve heard when something is taken out fluid builds up so the drains are very helpful. When I had abdominal surgery I had a drain on both sides. My fluids were blood red your are just a rose color so not as bad. Stay until you really feel better so you have a comfort level when you are released.
I hated to give this a thumbs up. They should have a "hugs" instead. Prayers for you both. Brian, you are amazing, man. Stay strong for her, but know that we are hugging you too, as well as Jessica.
Dear Jessica, I am full of admiration for you and Brian. I have only just found your channel as I am waiting for some tests because I am having worrying symptoms which are typical of ovarian cancer. The big difference is that I am 75 and can't imagine how this must have felt in your mid thirties. Brian seems to be so supportive of you which must be wonderful. It seems to be so ironic that you took your health so firmly into your own hands and lost so much weight and yet you got this awful disease. You are tackling it so bravely. I will be watching your progress and sending you positive vibes. You are so inspiring. Carol UK
Just feel so bad. I hate throwing up - the worst! But my heart really goes out to you. Wish I could hold your hand or read something or just help you to feel good again! 🤗🥰♥️
Aww sending prayers your way Jessica, Brian is an extraordinary husband, you can see the special bond you have with each other. I hope they can find out what's going on and you can be on the road to recovery. God bless you both 🙏❤️🙏
If it brings you any comfort, I'm sure you have many people praying for you. Your voice is strong so that's a good sign. Wishing you health and healing. May God guide you along your journey. Be well.
I don’t know which is worst: nausea or pain I kind of think I’d rather have pain. How awful you had both. Good you went to ER and got a second drain. Feel better Jessica ❤
I hate pain but during my pregnancy I had HG which is an extreme form of morning sickness where I was nauseous from the 2nd month to the end of pregnancy 24/7. Some days I thought death was better than this. I preferred the pain to that. Nausea is an awful feeling especially when it just doesn’t go away.
I am so sorry! I went to the emergency room and ended up staying for 13 days. I finished my chemo and my lungs couldn’t function well. I hate hospital beds and hospital food! I will say the nurses and drs were caring and helped tremendously. I had a picc line in the same place, the elbow, so uncomfortable!
Jessica, praying for you and Brian during your journey....I went through cancer treatments in 2010...my husband was my rock as Brian is yours. Stay positive.
Continued love, hugs and prayers. You are so brave to be sharing your journey with all of us. I think of you often and pray for your healing and some comforting peace for both of you.
I know this is going to seem silly but I had a cat that started throwing up constantly. I took him to the vet and they said they couldn't find anything wrong except he was hurling ( big help ) I checked a holistic vet book I had and it recommended a syrup made with slippery elm. Worked like a charm. Some times folk remedies are the best.
Hard to get any rest in the hospital. Someone always wants to stick you with a needle, check your blood pressure, etc. Hope you can rest when you get out.
Jessica, I watched this and your other cancer journey vlogs and cried like a baby. It brought back vivid memories. I traveled the same road in 2021; I am still recovering. Your chemo vlog sent shivers up my spine as taxol caused me to be hospitalize for the better part of a week . My cancer pain was like yours and required drugs I won't mention here. I required 6 cycles of chemo prior to surgery as my tumors were large and inoperable. Debulking surgery, Oct 2021, followed. My scar is about the same size. I'm on a PARP inhibitor, a maintenance drug and, compared to the earlier chemo experience, it's a walk in the park. You're surely on your way to healing and recovery, but it's going to take a little while. Be patient and know that you now wear a very special pair of glasses allowing you to see life differently and appreciate so many little things that others take for granted. Your cancer vlog is benefiting others in ways you can't imagine. What a gift to the world. Bravo! My wish for you is to always find the light in even the darkest hours. With that attitude, you can conquer anything. Stay strong teal sister and reach out when you need a hand.
Jessica, It has been a Major surgery. It,s going to take a time to recover. Follow the dr,s advices, don,t move your abdominal área forcing It anyway. You,ll be tired a long time. I had a laparoscopy histerectomy months ago and i recovered quickly but still felt tired for a time. You are very strong even when you don,t agree. With perspective, you Will realize that and many fears Will desappear. Lots of love for you two my Friends.
Wishing you some relief from the nausea and pain. Be kind to yourself, take the time you need to heal, treasure this time with your special bestie, Brian. He is a keeper.❤. Thinking of you both.
I had a gastric bypass done in 2004 and within a few days I developed fluid under my diaphragm/ right lung causing nausea and shortness of breath (SOB), and had to go to the ER. They put in a chest tube and I was then admitted into the hospital for almost a week. When I went back to my doctor for a 1 month check up I had another CT scan which showed the fluid coming back. I then had a needle inserted into my back to drain that new pocket of fluid. It was a Friday evening at 4 pm and the radiologist who did it said there was no one there that late to sit with me in recovery so he refused to give me pain meds! He did numb the skin a little but it was uncomfortable! Prayers for you and hubby!!!
I hear ya Jessica and I feel ya to, I’m a week and a day out from my 6th Chemo and all I want is to feel normal again! All I want is a clear scan!! Please God hold any and everyone going through health issues. We call on your strength to come within us! Keep us on the right path and help us heal. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
May God relieve you of your pain and nausea sweet Jessica. I pray for your strength and that you may feel normal again soon. I also pray for Brian’s continued strength. I’ve watched you all for a few months now and I’m not sure why this video made me cry, but my heart goes out to you all. Keeping you all in my prayers ❤
Sending prayers to you & Brian. 🙏🙏🙏 I completely understand when you say you need your "B". I'm currently healing from my fourth back surgery, and it's a fusion in my lower lumbar. A long slow process. I have days that when he gets home I just need my gentle "Bear" to hold me until I fall asleep. By the way, my only pain meds are Tylenol because I'm allergic to all narcotics, so yeah, I have immense pain. Thank you for sharing your journey. Hugs.
My heart goes out to you. Had the exact same surgery on May 5, 2022 while visiting South Dakota for the summer. Fortunately my wonderful doctors at Monument Cancer Center have it under control after surgery and radiation. I admire your strength and positive attitude. Be strong and get better soon! We are in this fight together!!
as you are going thru this health crisis, I am so glad you were blessed to have great health care to get the care you need ❤ I hope you feel great again soon!
Sorry to hear you had to go back. My situation was similar. Uncomfortable ER beds to the pain/nausea. I was beginning to think it would never end. I had 2 drains like yours for 4 weeks. That sucked. I’m praying for you both.
Sending love from across the miles cancer is the crueless fight of all and I get soooo cross that all the world is interested in covid and nothing else when there are souls like you fighting an enormous fight take ❤
Hope you are doing better as of this viewing. I also had cancer surgery at Mayo during the height of covid and a few days after discharge I also had to go to the ER. We had to spend 13 hours there, the first 8 just out in the waiting room and it sucked. Wasn't expecting that. I hated that I had to go in an ambulance to get readmitted.
My friend, I am so, so glad you have such wonderful support around you. May peace, serenity, comfort and love find and surround you through the remainder of your journey, no matter how it shakes out in the wash. Know that you are loved, valid and amazing, no matter what. In case you haven't heard this today, I'm proud of you for making it this far. You've got this, Jessica!
You’re a superhero - The Drain-inator! And you will get through this 🦸🏻♀️ I can’t believe you are still making videos - It’s amazing that you are letting everyone come along on your journey with you. I have been looking forward to the updates but I hope you two are not burning yourself out making these videos at such a challenging time. Thinking of you both and sending Jessica healing vibes ❤
Jessica I hope you're feeling better and they've got the nausea sorted out. Congrats on the 100,000 subscribers!! It may be the last thing on your mind tonight, but I'm hoping you'll be able to do a cameo appearance on your Sunday celebration video. Sleep well ❤️❤️

Retired surgical nurse here...look into sniffing alcohol swabs or fumes from an (medical/rubbing/ isopropyl) alcohol bottle for the nausea. It helps most of the time just as well as the meds, and faster. Take several inhales of the alcohol, then breathe normally (just room air), then a few more whiffs of the alcohol. They have to make sure its ethanol based and not methanol or isoproponal.
❤️👌🏼👏🏼also nurse 😊
thank you for the tip
Funny that you offer this method for staving off nausea when that smell makes me want to hurl. I’ve never been offered oils to sniff. That one sounds much more appealing. 🤧
I use 100% pure peppermint oil- 1 to 2 drops on the palm of hand, rub hands together, then cup your hands over nose & mouth, & breath deeply (make sure your hands don’t touch eyes and mouth or the peppermint burns).
Hurting, alone, and exhausted....but she still gets the footage from the back of the ambulance. You are amazing.

I agree I’d rather have the pain
For sure I’d rather have pain!! I’ve had a lot of both pain and nausea (often the pain so bad I vomit) but I’d take pain before nausea!!
Nausea is often worse than pain....that nurses' suggestion of sniffing alcohol?
Worth a try?
Sending love from Tasmania
Yep me too, nausea has to be one of the worst feelings (if not the worst) that there is.
Your bald head is beautiful! 💕 Hope you feel better very soon.
Don't rush your recovery
I am so sorry! I went to the emergency room and ended up staying for 13 days. I finished my chemo and my lungs couldn’t function well. I hate hospital beds and hospital food! I will say the nurses and drs were caring and helped tremendously. I had a picc line in the same place, the elbow, so uncomfortable!
Jessica, praying for you and Brian during your journey....I went through cancer treatments in 2010...my husband was my rock as Brian is yours. Stay positive.
Dear soul♥️🙏🏼♥️. Loving you .
Stay strong you two!!!! So sorry you have to deal with all this!! My prayers are for you too!
Bless your heart, I hope you feel better soon, I am preying for you to have a complete recovery.
I’m sorry you’re going through so much Jessica and Brian.
Hugs from someone who lives here in Rochester MN…
Hope all is ok. Thinking of you and sending love. ❤
My heart hurts for you.. Saying LOTs of PRAYERS for you Brian and your family.. God Bless
Hi there - I KNOW how it feels to have to go back into the hospital when you're finally out.
I'm rooting for you girl!! Sending prayers and love.
Amen
I'm not Brian but a huge hug from all of your subscribers! Sure hope you start to feel better... God Speed!
Poor woman. I wish for you to get better and know that its just a passage, not the whole journey.
Thoughts and prayers are with you Jessica and Brian! There is nothing worse than feeling sick! 😢❤🙏🏻
Get well soon 🙏🏻🍀
I had three drains on top of the chest tube 4 months ago so I know what you are feeling.
Sorry to hear you had to go back. My situation was similar. Uncomfortable ER beds to the pain/nausea. I was beginning to think it would never end. I had 2 drains like yours for 4 weeks. That sucked. I’m praying for you both.
praying for a beautiful summer for the both of you
Oh man, your a trooper going through all this!
Sending love from across the miles cancer is the crueless fight of all and I get soooo cross that all the world is interested in covid and nothing else when there are souls like you fighting an enormous fight take ❤
Kudos to you for your understanding your feelings and your ability to communicate so clearly. Thank you.
Oh that is nausea meds are much better than the oral one. Hope you are feeling better.
You’re a superhero - The Drain-inator! And you will get through this 🦸🏻♀️
I can’t believe you are still making videos - It’s amazing that you are letting everyone come along on your journey with you.
I have been looking forward to the updates but I hope you two are not burning yourself out making these videos at such a challenging time.
Thinking of you both and sending Jessica healing vibes ❤
Sending you so much healing love ❤🙏❤️🙏
Jessica I hope you're feeling better and they've got the nausea sorted out. Congrats on the 100,000 subscribers!! It may be the last thing on your mind tonight, but I'm hoping you'll be able to do a cameo appearance on your Sunday celebration video. Sleep well ❤️❤️
