    @robertsampson8278 2 роки тому +7

    Good job on the video, I have a similar setup, with nice clear instructions. One recommendation I would make is that when you move from fermenting to distilling it would be best if you moved the thermometer from the lid to the vapor chamber (where the valve is just before the condenser). That would give you a more accurate reading of the vapor temp helping you keep the still running smooth.

      Good moonshine doesn’t need filtered. Filtering also strips some of the flavor you want out of the grain. Lol. Black people don't own soul food. You may own the name "soul food" but you dont own the food itself. What soul food really is, is poor southern people food. There is no color involved. Anyone poor, growing up in the south all ate the same thing. Black people call it soul food. Everyone else just calls it southern country cooking.
      And don't get me wrong, just because it was poor people food doesn't mean it wasn't freekin awesome.
      Anyway, In this day and age, with all the "woke" people and political correctness, I mean no disrespect to anyone of any color. But there are as many white people, who like grits as there are black people. The grits don't care what color you are.
      And neither should you or I.

    Definitely get some SEBStar HTL amylase enzyme from Moonshine Distiller to help convert the starch in the corn and keep it from turning to glue
    while it cooks. You got to cook the corn at 180F to gel the starch. Unless you use Distiller's Malt the beer brewing barley isn't enough diastatic strength to do the job. With SEBStar you can use straight corn and it handles high temperature unlike malted grain. Lose the Brita. Waste of money and time. Get some granulated carbon online and put some in a coffee filter inside a funnel. goes through faster and you can use it directly under the still output. Costco has a big brick of Red Star yeast for $5. It's a 2-year supply if you keep it in the freezer. Shine on!

      That's at the head of the tub - it's cooling all the way up the tower before hitting the condenser. It still needs to be > 78C at that point. As long as you don't go too hot and start getting into the next band of distillates...
