Another excellent and informative video from you, sir. I especially loved the middle of the video, when you told the story from the acts of Peter. So entertaining and easy to follow. Thank you!
Great video! I’ve heard for years that Peter was crucified upside down and just assumed it was historical. Thanks for making this video! I learned a lot!
Bc of Clement I've always agreed Peter likely did die by crucifixion (as he would've been writing about 30ish years after which is pretty early) but I didn't know about the text in John that may suggest this, thanks for that! Any good resources you would recommend for studying this more? Edit: Also, what about the deaths of the other apostles as well?
Thanks for the comment wannabe_scholar82! Sources to learn more about this topic (in a scholarly sort of way) are tough to come by. I would recommend reading some of the New Testament Apocrypha by Tony Burke. It’s got all kinds of interesting New Testament apocryphal writings from the second century on. However, it’s not exactly the type of resource I think you are looking for if you are only interested in learning more about the deaths of the other apostles. But it’s a good start!

15:29 this is incorrect, we have evidence that Jesus and his apostles would have known greek
The remains of peter were found in an ossuary in Jerusalem under the name Simon Bar Jonah
So that text is basically claiming that Peter turned his own execution into a pun. 🤔 Silly, but gotta appreciate the implied dedication. 😄
Peter was a commercial fishermen so it's obvious he also spoke Greek
You said John died by the sword of Herod but in Acts 12 it says James the brother of John died that way. Probably just misspoke.
You are absolutely correct! I didn't even realize I said John. Thanks for the correction!
Another great video. Well done as usual!
That's James not John.
thank you
By the criteria you cite almost none of the canonical NT would be accepted.
Good point! And yet, they were accepted nonetheless.
I gotta throw the B.S. flag on that story. Lol

10:12: If you're gonna use AI images, at least bother glancing at them at all to see if it's given them double shields or metal skin, lol.
