I used to play this game with my dad in the 1980s, a great game.
I still have my original 2 volumes of this game

Oh, awesome! I have my Powerhouse & Balloon Buster copies, but lost my handy rotory copy long ago,. I need to head over to the kickstarter, thanks for the heads-up!
This first release is the Powerhouse edition, but I believe they are also going to reprint the Handy Rotary edition in the next year or so too.

Bringing back memories this one! I still have all the volumes including the jet version (don't think that one ever caught on). Now I have miniatures for Ares Games Wings of Glory game. Nothing like the book game for a quick bit of fun at a pub though!
Cool. I'm interested, did the WW2 version (Wingleader?) play as well as the WW1 versions?
What a clever and unique design for a game! I’d love to try it out. I assumed it would be miniatures based with movement templates, but that’s Wings of Glory. This seems very immersive for a tabletop game, but I imagine a tradeoff it would have is that you wouldn’t be able to simulate the kind of larger battles Wings of Glory does. I suppose it’s like simulation on different scales, one is simulating being the pilot and one is commanding a squadron.
Ace of Aces is definitely just a two person, two aircraft game. While Wings of Glory is also an awesome game, Aces of Aces also has its time and place when you can't play other tabletop games (e.g. when travelling).
I would much rather love to see another WW1 simulation PC game.
Yes, but these are also good, and don't require a PC to run!
