In rewatching this, the mention of parabolic “whisper dishes” reminds me of the much lamented Miami Space Transit Planetarium. The late planetarium had a set of such dishes by the main entrance. Did you ever watch Star Hustler with Jack Horkheimer? I miss both the Space Transit Planetarium and Jack Horkheimer. Nostalgia times.
That tobacco looks really nice, I can almost taste it (apparently you said the same as I went about writing this)- I picked up my last pouch of pipe toby in summer 2020, have been more often a cigar guy in the time (and moving cities), but the pipe stuff is still in great shape
Depending on how you look at it, things are better now than they have been in our general lifetime; people tend to ignorantly take most things for granted, and now we have to sink or swim. I think it's a great time, finding who your real friends are. Who around you has empathy, who in your life is headstrong, who is selfish. This is a learning period, and we need more of it.

I think the argument for negative utilitarianism is built on the assumption that net pleasure increases when suffering is eliminated, even if the individual peaks are lower. So the argument that the magic button that eliminates life, and therefore, pleasure, is perhaps fallacious.
