By far one of the toughest boss battles in the series. All accompanied by an awesome bgm track. I love what you've done with this battle theme! Still can remember the tempo, and how berserk it was flying as Super Sonic, zipping past those asteroids, Praying I wouldn't lose a ring.
There's actually a simple reason for it...Sonic 1 had 6 emeralds. In Sonic 2 they wanted to give a reward for those who got them all, but since there was no reward for 6 emeralds in Sonic 1, they added a 7th. It's the same with Sonic 3. They split it into 2 games (S3 and S&K) and when you played them together you ended up with 14 emeralds. So they have you lose the Super Sonic ability and if you collect them again, they give you Hyper Sonic as a reward for sticking with it

Ahhhh this takes me back to childhood. The tension, the stakes were so high back then. Absolute banger of a tune and the remix is more so. Kudos. I’m going to pop in when I need a little hit of nostalgia
(Laughs) Yeah, I forgot which one it was in particular, but one of the Emeralds was a BITCH to beat on both regular and full-size, because there was the stairway pattern you had to do or you would miss a blue one or lock yourself out of progressing, unless you hopped through the white bumpers while the speed was increasing. @dissident93 well, i mostly get stuff from the net via keepvid.com i'll bet mp3 results in smaller file size, but probably lower sound quality (there's 240-1080p, and then there's mp3, which says "standard quality")
This is pretty good. Most people take a Rock route when arranging Sonic Music, but with this particular song, it works. Mainly because it's repetetive, but still. It's the proper route. If you want another Sonic song remixed in something other than rock, look up 'theres a butterfli in the machine'. It's an arranged version of Scrap Brain Zone, and it also works. Now THAT's talent!
I have to say I do really like this. The beat you used is consistent and I love at 1:42 how it kicks back in... The only thing I want to comment about is the synth you used. It sounds great throughout but only concerns are in the intro, and at 1:33. The use here seems to blend it oddly. Good work.
This one's got almost a classic disco feel to it... with the string sweeps going on, and if you imagine the main melody line played on a funky guitar or slap bass, it would totally fit with any good groovalicious Funkadelic, Earth Wind and Fire thing. Totally cool stuff.
This guy really did just play all of sonic 3 and knuckles and collect the seven chaos emeralds twice and played the final boss, just for a music video, this is some dedication
@dissident93 i think some people use them for easier creation; i just don't wanna have to go through all the pitch shifting crap is there anything (that or other stuff) that can just take a song and at least one sound and make a copy of the song out of the sound(s)

All of you people who cant beat sonic 1-3 and knuckles without debug mode piss me off. I grew up on sonic with my older brother (im 15 btw) and im a master at these games. so is my brother. The final boss on sonic 2 (that no one can seem to be able to beat) i just hit in the stomach and when he lands i hit him again after he tries to crush me. Then i rinse and repeat. Thats all you need to do.
Slightly. But compared to the later games with Super (and then Hyper in S3K) Sonic, it wasn't much of a reward, especially since you only had 6 (I think) zones to get the emeralds. With 2 acts per zone having special stages (the third being the boss) that gave you 2 tries per emerald (unless you use level select which gives you an extra try if you start the game in the special stage) without saved games or passwords to continue your game.

the super sonic reward is much better, however I think they made the requirements for an emerald too hard in Sonic 2 as cool as that special stage is the ring placement get's insane at about emerald 5.
Hahah!! 84 LIVES!?? You must have "Cheated" like me, using an emulator, allowing one to save and reopen anytime. That was also the ONLY way I was able to get all of the emeralds.

I have 2 remixes but they sound a lot diferent then this one. they have the same speed and tone as the original doomsday zone.
