This Brand is the neo western hero of modern times. He doesen't fit into todays world, has a ton of issues that he carries arround, but no matter what, he is always going his way, no matter how tough it may be, thats what i love about this brand.
@@PaddySP yeah .subaru called it the car that coudnt fail, and bet everything they had on the legacy. so they owe it their life. designed by italdesign.
@Martin R Subaru knows their customers well. My first memories were of riding in the back of my dad's BRAT. A little dangerous by today's standards, but it was the 80's.
@@katefoyder506that had to be so much fun. Good memory for sure. Maybe they’ll bring it back, won’t be the same (seats in the back because of who knows why lol) but still would be kind of nice
It kinda hit me in the feels too, as rare and awesome as they are to see in the US. But after thinking about it, I think it's a bit of a cheap marketing ploy. They posed it like a forgotten old beater which is somehow still in the game, and it too finally makes it through to the wash... to become a bloated ugly blob without nearly the soul of its ancestors. A brat simply has no business being compared to a shrunken mini van. I have 2 BRZ's. I'm grateful for them and I'm grateful for brats having been made in their time, however I think they should make more brats and in the proper size rather than use them as a nostalgia inducing marketing scheme, which honestly I think is borderline insulting to enthusiasts.
i cant explain how much i love my subaru almost 30 years of track racing offroad racing and drifting and it still looks like brand new and withh all the modifications drives better than ever
Gets me all choked up. I've been overly sentimental over my good ol girls. we've owned a 84 and 86 GL wagons 200000 miles on both. A 95 and 98 Impreza got to 293000 on the 95. A beautiful 2.5 RS. Then it went to shit! Our 2008 impreza blew its head gaskets at 120000! Reminded me of a Chevy cruze with awd. Down right awful. Wish I kept the 2.5 RS traded it spontaneously at the dealer for a brake master cylinder repair. ugh!
They left a lot of critical models out, they showed the antenna from an svx, and yet the technology developed for it wound up in EVERY car they produced following it.
Am I the only one who is trying to find the old subaru commercials they played in North America with the Australian spokesman? But all I get are these commercials for the Australian market. SubarUuuuu
Two things: The rust and dirt will stick to those wet cars. They will need to be soaked to hours to get it off. Are those cool old cars getting turned into new Cross Trek's? What's the word on the CVT transmission? I have heard of and seen the newer cars are burning oil. My 97 2.2 5-speed has 225k and the tailpipe is still clean. Not to be a grumpy old man, but no thanks!

how could they miss the first gen legacy?..the car that saved subaru
The first generation Legacy saved Subaru? For real?
@@PaddySP yeah .subaru called it the car that coudnt fail, and bet everything they had on the legacy. so they owe it their life. designed by italdesign.
I'd argue the Outback saved Subaru.
It was cheap, reliable, got decent gas mileage, and had standard AWD. Plus, it had utility, like an SUV
@@GiordanDiodato Outback couldn't be made without Legacy. TBH two first generations of Outback were simply lifted Legacys.
@@mateuszg9866 true.
But the Outback has outsold the Legacy 3 to 1.
I get emotional everytime the BRAT makes an entrance in this ad. Absolutely love it!!
First to start last to go in. They did the brat well in this commercial

All this car is missing is a more powerful engine, like an XT version of it
put in the Ascent engine, maybe?
My friend: Woah! How'd you get that Crosstrek so quick?!
Me: *basically some moving car wash turned my impreza into it*

one does not simply clean a Subaru.
why do they even advertise all wheel drive as a feature, the last time subaru released a car without all wheel drive was like back in 93
