Just to list of a few examples of the differences between the show and the comics: Judith and Carol are supposed to be dead, Machonne got with Ezekiel but in the show she gets with Rick, Andrea originally lived a lot longer and got with Rick, Daryl doesn't even exist in the comics, the Governor cuts off Rick's hand but doesn't in the show, Carl doesn't fucking die, etc.
Its bit odd though he knew Rick was completely out of bullets when he heard the revolver was empty. He could have still had reload, and i think he even has the speedloader pouches on his belt. Rick i think also tossed the AK when it likely still had some rounds left in the mag as he ran after Negan, and pulled the python out. so bit strange he didnt pack atleast few extra rounds for his sidearm when its only 6 shooter

to be fair he's trying to avoid an unexpected axe throw. I think his bodies first instinct was to just become dead weight lol I wouldn't exactly expect someone to dodge that gracefully.

When the show tapped into the fact that something was genuinely wrong with Rick was when the show was at its best in S4-6 I liked how they went down the road of “maybe Rick’s group aren’t the good guys” but they never explored it as much as I wanted.. miss those days
