This is exactly the kind of music that inspired me to learn violin in the first place. Bach, Paganini, and Kreisler are all great, but nothing beats the honest and intimate emotion of folk tunes. Music that isn't about impressing others and showing off skill, but rather putting a simple smile on the face of others.
vannacht is Augusta hier weer op bezoek geweest met haar prachtige spel en ook prachtige lach, ze is een welkome gast ! De klank van de barock viool is heel diepgaand en heel mooi. Veel dank aan Augusta en aan Hanneke en David !
Sounds like "Anne with an e", the best serie ever. That kind of sounds really changed my life, and I hope the life of many others, now I feel alive. Thank you
Truly magnificent! Your control, especially in the Languor of Love piece, is extraordinary. Scottish tunes are incredibly difficult to play much less master and your performance is otherworldly and beautiful. Thank you.
Would it be possible to get a copy of sheet music for this version of Languor of Love? I found one online of the basic melody, but she adds so many chords, double stops, and articulations, that it's difficult to replicate the sound of her interpretation. The baroque tuning also makes it difficult to try and figure it out by ear. I figured out a couple chords and some added grace notes, but I'm still having trouble deciphering most of it. I was just curious if you had the music available?
We've added the link to the music in the description too, but here is the original, it has the tune and a bass line--everything else is improvised by Augusta. You can find the music here: imslp.org/wiki/The_Airs_and_Melodies_Peculiar_to_the_Highlands_of_Scotland_and_the_Isles_(Fraser%2C_Simon)

Bach puts a smile on my face as well though ;)
You hit the nail on the head, well said 👍
Absolutely braw. The music ae ma wee country never fails to make my heart swell.
I love the sounds of Scottish tunes, and on the baroque violin they sound exactly like bagpipes.
this definitely could be the soundtrack of any romantic comedy filmed in Scotland..
Idea!
The utter amount of fun you were having playing this spills out!

What a wonderful performance! Took the survey as a little "Danke schön"

Where’s the survey? If it asks whether we want more, I’m thinking ja.

How to give life and light even to dead stones, even to «dull men».
These kind of tunes always sound much better in a baroque violin :)

@@VoicesofMusic thank you kindly
The dislikes are from the redcoats
True 😂
It sounds like a bagpipe.
I believe that's by design. Bagpipes were once outlawed in Scotland.
