I saved this viewers crumbling economy in ck3

- Today I am saving Peter's game file where he played created a massive Norse empire only to have it collapse after switching to feudalism. Changing government types can be a very tricky part of Crusader Kings 3, so I think this video will be great for those of you who like to play tribal. Will I be able to do it? You'll have to watch to find out 👀

Second times the charm 😅 thanks to those of you who caught that the audio cut out for about 45 second halfway through the video when I first uploaded this bad boy. Should be good now, enjoy!
Oh yeah! Let me know where I should play for my first game with the Tours & Tournaments DLC. I am so excited to see all the changes!
I was wondering why it cut out, and after the video ended the comments wouldn't load. Then I reload and see it's been privated. Glad you got it fixed. Anyways, great vid mate!
@Zieley Perhaps a campaign in the Mali region with the goal to convert to Islam and perform a Hajj that would rival Mansa Musa's historic journey. Get that tours and tournament flavor!
i am not sure can this be a challenge 🤔, create the 1. Mann and the Isles kingdom , next 2. the North Sea empire, last 3. Danelaw and then daneland. this is sooo hard as the timing is hard, (first)as danelaw cannot create before the North Sea empire. (sec) the Norman culture cannot reach the early medieval Era.
also I forget mention that creating Mann and the Isles kingdom will take up more time and lead to a more harsh perfecting timing(at least a life )
My mans literally said too much debt? Have you considered suicide? 👀
LMAO
*Sweats in plays games to escape reality*
Nah that's crazy 😂
And in real life in some country, the debt would be inherited by its heirs lol
@@Lrzmsibelts There are some countries, but this is usually only upto the value of the inheritance, or the recipient can renounce the inheritance and escape the debt (probably not worth it if you are inheriting a fucking empire tho)
yess i love these videos it always gives me hope to not delete my games when it gets tricky
It's funny seeing this game because this is sort of repeating history. Of how it went for Norway.
Look up Harald Hardrada. He also created a grand Norwegian empire, then invaded Northern England, and was killed. This was seen as an act of God, that Norway was not meant to rule, which led to the formation of a personal union between Denmark and Norway, with the Danish crown effectively ruling Norway.
I assume a re upload for audio issues?
What do you think about new CK3 DLC
Stop haemorraging gold on useless court positions
Saved you 37 minutes :)
"I'm sorry gentlemen the court has run into financial difficulties and we are significantly overbudget, we are gonna have to conduct some layoffs."
I pictured him bringing in the Bobs from Office Space 😂
Advise to anyone playing norse culture: Hybridize it with greek. You can take all norse pillars (language, name, heritage everything really) to keep it purely norse if you want, so long as you pick the Bureaucratic ethos (which is the best one anyways, you want it). You can get the broken Eastern Roman Legacy cultural tradition (more Heavy infantry men at arms slots, pair nicely with Varangians, AND CATAPHRACTS) and all the nice tech the greeks have.
Think of it as a modernization of your culture, instead of a hybridization.
@@sealboi9666 Varangian adventures of course!
You can take over the Laconia lands and become norse spartans!
Cataphracts and Varangians lol. You dirty bastard! Love it.
@@sealboi9666 Italy has some greek minors you can snatch early on in the south that are not under byzantine control
@@garrgravarr Yeah right? it will bankrupt you if you don't have the money but once you have it you can beat armies ten times the size lol
I mindlessly went feudal in my mongol campaign and my economy just crashed, my solution was moving my primary duchy to the most developed parts of India and voila no more debt. RIP ancestral mongol capital tho
Early Mughal Empire, makes total sense.
True Mongolian RP tho
*dun dun*
I miss in ck2 where if you went feudal, all your tribal buildings would be converted into their feudal equivalent
Didnt they patch this somehow?
i think you get some random building for every feudal now...
Havent played feudal since..
Doesn't this happen on PC CK3? on console when you become feudal I'm pretty sure your tribal buildings become the feudal buildings.
I think this happens in CK3 too?
Same in ck3 for me
Imagine paying for buildings with -exposure- prestige
Everytime Zieley says Jovrik instead of Jorvik a Danelander dies
No hate tho love your videos keep it up :)
He also says "Varanian" instead of "Varangian", which is arguably worse.

Well second Time seems to be the charm hopefully video doesn't disappear again, also love all your video's and your channel.
As far as Feudalizing goes i would recommend just doing a manual save before clicking the button. Even if you are playing a ironman game you can just crash the game if you get bad buildings.
The reason I recommend this is because the Buildings you get are completely random, so if you get unlucky you can end up with almost no Income Buildings or you can end up with mostly income buildings. I did some tests and sometimes i would be making -10 gold how it was in this video and sometimes i would be making +10.
Something to remember is that the level of the building gets transferred when you feudalize, so you should upgrade all your tribal buildings to level 2, because then you will get feudal buildings also at level 2 and tribal buildings are way cheaper.
32:22 correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't river sailing unlocked by a tech for norse? By the longships innovation
Yes, but I think something about going feudal makes the Norse splinter off into their respective national identities. Could be wrong tho, it's been a while since I played. And once they do that they lose the Longships... I think.
@Hippie_ naah, techs stay for all the time, maybe only if you start 1066, but I think it still stays
Since you can even get the tech for other cultures without even reforming yours, just by having enough nordic provinces with your culture gives you access to the tech
Yes and also from this tradition
You also get it if you form the Livonian kingdom
Yeah, I usually never feudalize unless I either have 2k+ gold saved (with poor dev lands) or I have a lot of good counties in my realm that means I'll have decent vassal tax incoming for me to be able to raid some to quickly recover my economic base. Feudalizing in your starting lands in Scandinavia should not be done without a massive amount of raiding gold as a stockpile, and even then you might need to cut back on the Varangian Vets to stabilize the eco for the first couple years. I've had to sacrifice some Var Vets even in good eco runs (conquest of Cordoba and Al-Andalus off the top of my head) just to make sure I don't risk backsliding during the delicate transition period. You can really survive with just a couple of the special MAA and some of the cheaper ones as backup, the Norse MAA are just that good that even 1 stack can carry the early game with sufficient backup. A word of advice, hybridizing with Greek is dummy OP, take Bureaucratic ethos for more lifestyle xp and dev growth stacking, and take East Roman Legacy for the Heavy Infantry buff, and you can stack DUMMY THICC Varangian Veteran stacks with a developed Economy.
The opposite of a "perk" is a "malus"...I think that was the word you were looking for in the beginning lol
Why not disband one of the huscarl regiments, so that it can be replaced with another siege regiment once the economy recovers?
I feel like this game just brings out my anxious side and makes me a save fiend
18:45 why not add Scandinavian elective to limit splintering of realm on succession?
I have never seen anyone fill every single court position. Madness. That's endgame behaviour.
When playing tall, having tens of thousands of gold with a small kingdom like Frisia or Sardinia and Corsica, its nice to fill all the positions. You're rich, +100 gold every month, assigning them will give a LOT of flavour to your game.
Having 100 control growth, and when you are hemorrhaging gold. Start firing unnecessary court positions! Smaller cultures help with researching new innovations since the development is overall higher.
great summary of this video^^
I really likes mixing with Konni when gaming norse culture...that fast ponny are amazing running down routed enemies
I’ve been playing a game where I hybridized the Norse and Greek cultures so I have insane Norse heavy infantry and the Greek catapjracts, just a wall of steel. But now I kind of want to try picking up konni in a different play through
Why did you just not remove some men at arms. When I play I have a play style wich is to never lose any money even that I have my army raised because then I can rush economic game fast due never losing any money.
Me when hyper inflation:
good video... but the way you say Jorvik a bit irritates me
Gets into insurmountable debt...
"You could commit suicide?"
Hi Zieley! I’ve commented a couple of times now… I hope you remember me as one of your OG subs 🥺 I’m happy to see you growing so large! Have you considered creating a discord? I’d love to be able to join a CK3 community- especially if you lead it! Thanks for making amazing content.
I can't wait for the video you do after the upcoming update because it just changes a lot about the bonuses you can get and apply, and there's also the reduced domain limit and the reduced building slots that will be locked behind innovations... Just really curious to see what playing tall is gonna be like going forward
THE TREE. you got me. Working on that woodcutting level no doubt.
Thanks for the good content, really like it love from me and my friend owen❤

Why you never grant holding to your dynasty ? It's was the meta in ck2.
What's the point?
@@corymolyneux4384 Doesn't it improve your renown for you family?
@@mrarrow8135 no. u only get renown for any ruler of ur dynasty when he is not a vassal of someone of the same dynasty. You are not my dad, I am going to switch to feudalism like this so hard!
Formed the north sea empire and it makes all tribal immediately switch to feudal regardless of religion. *Deletes men at arms immediately
I love playing Tribal, especially in west africa with the 3 gold mines. Transitioning to Feudalism is always kinda rocky but once you know what to expect you can sort of just build up a crap ton of gold and make it smooth.
Currently doing a African playthrough. I think I also switched yo early. I switched over as soon as I finished all my rank 1 research. I used to have 40k to 50K armies but now I got knocked down to 20k and it took me almost two centuries to reach those numbers again. I had 40k gold so that helped with any hard wars. I'll rethink this on my swden/Mongol playthroughs
I don't even know what it's like to need money in this game because all I care about is hunting down farmlands.
Zieley you are by far my favorite youtuber. Your sound design and effort is so good in these videos. I hope you get more subs
Great video, any plans on making a video about the CK3 AGOT mod?
Yes! I really want to, but the next couple might have to be about the new dlc 😅
Wow, a bona fide horror show. Love your work mate. You're the king! Or Khan... or Archon... or Dux... whatever.
Zieley the CK3 Hero 🤩
I’d love to see you play a campaign where you create a super hill culture (Gaelic + Cornish) and unite the Empire of Britannia with it!
Cornish has the super cool and rare ancient miners tradition, mixed with Gaelic hill traditions, can make some seriously huge troop counts!
As someone who loves starting/playing tribal, thanks for this. Switching to feudal is always the hardest part, only successfully did it once
Seriously if you can't manage the simple economy of Crusader Kings 3 then maybe you should stay away from Paradox games. Crusader Kings 3 is the easiest game to make money.
Have you ever heard about new players?
I suggest only spreadong culture to the duchies you will personally hold so at max you'll have like 8-10 counties of your culture. After that you can increase cultural acceptance to prevent any uprisings or continue to focus on Developing your culture's counties. I also did what he did and expanded my culture like crazy thinking it would be good in the long run. Ideally youbwant your culture to be militarily dominant to your vassals. Because while you have t2 or t3 troops your vassals who rise upnwill still be stuck on the base men at arms in addition you can keep stacking development and building enhancements. When they rise in rebellion it will be far too easy to defeat them
Every start to your video gives me such a where’s Waldo vibe
It's Jorvik brother, pronounced Yore-vick. Sorry for being a pronunciation policeman, but Joverick just hurts my brain haha
You probably already know this but on top right corner there is button under domain limit and there you can see all your holdings and it makes easier to construct building that way cuz you see is there is something being build or no
And there he is, always with a banger right when you need him. Love from me and my friend Splinter❤

I’m always so excited when a new Zieley video drops! :D
15:06 shoooo!
I personally think research speed should be calculated by a mix of total development and average development
Mabey they could have a highest development county modifier 1-0 were 1= 100 dev then the culture total development is multiplied by the highest development modifier and it takes the equality of your provinces dev maybe the more equal development the more research.
Idk though might sound dumb 🤷
I love your videos and have learnt a lot from you, but it wounds me every time you try to pronounce "Jorvic"
OnlyFans when?
Fun fact, you can revoke titles from your Bishops and the gold they have will go to you.....sssshhhhh...don't tell anyone.
2:32 "What can i do when i'm in serious debts?" "Suicide." this turns dark rly fast..
21:20 The walls and towers are converted warrior halls (the ones which give more power to your heavy infantry and an extra 1 or 2 knights (depending on level)) from the tribal era
Just FYI on the "build walls in 3 counties", I noticed when I moved from Tribal to feudal some of the buildings I had were automatically made into those buildings. It sort of screwed me because the previous buildings were giving buffs to specific units stationed there and the walls didn't apply to them.
Where have you been man? Hope everything is going well in your life. Would love to see some fresh content from you.
Catholicism and choosing the right education path/person to be your childrens' ward makes succession a lot easier. A lot of guys you can either educate in a way that will make them likely to accept taking vows, or give them a martial education and they could be asked to join a holy order to similar effect.
So he took York for the Holy Site to reform Asatru and Feudalise but did so before he fixed his economy. Rookie mistake.
Making a killing is so broken, especially with raiding xD love it!
It’s been the backbone of multiple world conquests for me 😂
At this point Zieley is mispronouncing Jorvik just to trigger us.
I’m about to change to feudal, I’m going to watch this intently lol
Yay Zieley and dinner my 2 favorite things!
Where is happy man at the end of the video??? I don't want to like the video when I don't see him
thats not the entire duchy of jorvik, you missed a county!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Here I go killin again” cracks me up every time
love your one barony videos
I've never had an issue going from tribal feudal...?
I've got to admit, I missed the court positions tanking his income, but one thing that had me almost screaming at the screen was that you really ought to have just had his Marshall lower the Unraised MaA cost to get him out of debt ASAP, and worry about control once he wasn't profligate anymore. Sitting at -400 gold for that long is uh...
Well a lot of bad events can fire when you're that in debt.
Gentlemen…this is democracy MANIFEST
I’m having a sense of déjà vu
Lol is that an Irish dynasty ruling over Germany?!
3 Duchies is the goal? But aren't you gonna run into problems?I haven't watched the whole video yet but if there is a way to have more than 2 Duchies without f**** yourself I would love to know!
Every duchy above the limit gives you a -15 opinion penalty with your vassals so, many people find a single extra duchy manageable enough to warrant an extra duchy-building.
Jorvik. See how the R comes before the V?
i love zieley videos
I got to say, playing norse and keeping your 2 duchy's in denmark is one of the most powerful starts of the game. All you got to do is stretch your tribal era to be as long as possible and raid away. Merge few cultures on the way to get these nice upgrades and when people finally start moaning about you being tribal, THEN you will go to feudal. Believe me, you will come out super strong.
Allthough, going feudal too early is a bloody disaster as shown in this video here.
You cant maintain your impressive armies anymore AND if you get rid of them then your tribal neighbours gonna raid/conquer you to oblivion!
why are the traits lunitic, evil, zealos good?
Can you explain how to get +14.3 prestige every month like in the video? I already tried some like wars, marrying my sons and daughter but still cannot grasp how to increasr monthly prestige
LOVE your disaster save videos! ❤ :^)
Bro doing IMF middle age role play
It’s a good day when Zieley uploads!
Only -499?, I already feel -1500😂
whenever I see a new Zieley video on my feed I ascend
Can you say Jorvik correctly for my sanity please
LOL in my first game I went as the tribal king of Scotland, and gave away all lands and just keep out county as capital and was entirely dependent on vassal money, this is the best way to make money, give to your dynasty members and increase gold and troops for head hook and war permission, I went to conquer half the map and only stopped because the game breaks in the 1200 on console
You missed a solid opportunity to use Trump saying, “you’re fired.”
Best Cracovian Wishes ;)

Excuse me but why are you always lurking behind stuff in the beginning? Come and talk to us out in the open!
Why don’t you give kingdoms to your sons?

Not even sure if you checked but also look at lowering the court amenities for some extra income.

Hey Zieley! Do you think of making CK3 AGOT content now that the mod is in beta?
Hey! Love your vids, but I’ll be critical for once. There was a way quicker fix: disbanding half of the Varangians and going “extort subjects”. While having the marshal managing troop maintenance cost and the steward on tax collection)
I would sat for the next video for T&T make it interesting and try to find a character with low prowess
