This is why I hate EDM as a genre title, it's really just a bastardization of electronic music as a genre. One could technically dance to ANY form of electronic music, and genres aren't really defined by how "danceable" they are. It always cracks me up to go to artist's wiki pages and see EDM listed among other electronic genres. It's just redundant and minimizes the true diversity that electronic music has. In all seriousness, electronic music is probably the most diverse type of music there is and "EDM" just pigeonholes it which is sad and puts people off from giving so much of it a chance.
@@SheogorathReacts Because they don't listen to classical, not because the music isn't different. I'm sorry for the reddit response, but your ignorance doesn't make you right lol.

Kendrick Lamar could not have written Fur elise, what a silly thing to say. I do agree Beethoven couldnt have made hip hop but lets not pretend hip hop people can write classical.
Nobody in hip-hop could write classical music ,Beethoven was way better composer musically than a lot of composer now,he was the best of his CENTURY so not everyone could now day play it,a symphonie whit many melody, complex chord progression and 1 hour long and fur elise is a very simple pièce,it’s not a classical master pièce just a easy piece, it’s not his major work and i think that composing a song whit 3 chord and rythm is not hard,he could easily compose that but i don’t think he was able of making lyrics
I only discovered classical music when I was 20 (I'm 22 now), and I utterly and completely fell in love with it. It was like listening to music for the first time in my life. I wish more people would try to explore this beautiful and immense universe, but i suppose not everyone is willing to take music so seriously.
Hrm, I think the right playlist might be able to win you over with classical. I am not sure about the Ben Shaprio comparison, that seems a bit harsh. Only 4 minutes in, so not sure if opera is there on its own, or combined with classical?

3:38 You should try listen to other kinds of classical music; it varies *heavily*. Most people think of composers from the Renaissance, Classical, and Romantic periods, but Modern and Contemporary classical offers a huge variety of sounds -- some classical composers use electronics varying from the extremely dissonant and modern works from the Darmstadt School with composers like Stockhausen, Boulez, and Xenakis (whom basically invented electronic music), to really fantastic modern works like those of Andy Akiho (I'd recommend his piece "NO one to kNOW one"). There's also those on the more avant-garde and experimental side such as Kate Soper, Panayiotis Kokoras, Enno Poppe, among many others, or for a more consonant approach you can check out composers like Takashi Yoshimatsu who make some stunningly beautiful music that takes inspiration from popular genres like pop, rock, and jazz. Two really good channels to find some of the most modern, weird, and innovative classical music as Score Follower and Incipitsify.
If you wanna get into metal id recommend watching metallicas older concerts/albums. from kill em all (which is the most punk theyve ever been), ride the lightning, master of puppets and justice.

I just wanted to say that the term "EDM" is WAYYYYYYYY too broad EDM alone has over 160 subgenres, maybe more from the last time I checked and it ranges from very chill music like ambience, chill-out and future garage, to loud music like hardcore, speedcore, extratone and many more. My personal favourites being drum and bass and psytrance When people think of EDM, most think of either House or Dubstep and it's just scratching the surface of what EDM is. I recommend you watch videos like "120 subgenres of EDM" to get an idea of how broad that term can be and realise it's a lot more than that

It's nice that you renamed the tiers like that to emphasize the subjectivity, very thoughtful! Edit - I find it interesting that you like movie scores but not classical. I personally like movie scores a bit better than overall classical as well, but they're essentially the same in a lot of ways! Maybe just the barrier to entry is just higher for classical, there's generally a pretentious stigma around it - If you like film music, I'd recommend at least trying some out beyond the overplayed boring stuff like Fur Elise! Brahms or Mahler or some kinda requiem are kind of film-ish, and all very very good. Not all classical is boring, I promise! Whoops, this was long
