I just feel it's worth mentioning that the Velen's Ooze synergy is ACTUALLY insane. Trump is indifferent about it but that's one attack point off of Vek'lor, which people rightfully say is amazing value for 7 mana. Those two cards together can easily win the game on turn 5.
Carlos Murillo yeah but vek'lor has taunt and can block aggro. Also the spell damage is basically useless in Trump's deck.
xaffer8 I'm just talking about raw stat value, so the spell damage is irrelevant (although a nice bonus). And although taunt is a big deal against aggro, arena is a lot more of a tempo game and the Velen's-Ooze combo is RIDICULOUS tempo. I agree that Vek'lor is better overall, but in arena this is a crazy turn 5 play.

First pick was terrible. A four mana 5/4 with a slight upside is a far better choice. I drafted 2 in an aggressive priest run one time and they really helped find lethal quick. Just hoping to pick up dragons is never a good idea first card in. Pick the safe option for the first 5-10 cards if possible. Unless you're just playing for fun rather than aiming for a long run.
Well that would be the thing about opinions. The earlier you draft dragon synergy the better they get. If you get even one dragon the value is insane, and with 29 picks to go, fuck it.

Come on man thats ridiculolus. I would have chosen Trailstrider a vanilla 5/4 over Book Wyrm, but you had Spawn of Shadows which was even better and you skipped it. Ugh
Guys I usually get more wins with shaman (even more than mage) in ARENA is something wrong with me? I NEVER play shaman in constructed
He did better with this deck than the hunter with rag and two Savannah highmanes

Oh great master of the Arena, he who makes me think I can make a profit spending my gold on Arena runs, please stop tempting us who are farming gold for adventures!
Give up on the hope, it's not worth it. I've been playing arena for gold at every opportunity before WotOG and was making nice profits, but since then, arena has been a nightmare. Pick Mage or get ready to lose gold. You better get insane picks or very lucky in your games, otherwise you will average about 4-5 games at best with anything other than Mage. There are more fun ways to earn gold than to draft endless boring Mage decks.
MarcusTheAbsolute I know, but Trump just makes it look so easy and fun. My best arena run was with a Warrior actually, I don't know how to play Mage that good. Warrior and Warlock (which is my main constructed class) work best for me in Arena.

My guess is that he highlights only the runs that are worth highlighting though. Many runs are just dead from the get-go because of the draft.
Example: my first draft after Karazhan was with rogue. Didn't get backstab, evis, assassinate, shadow strike, deadly poison, sabotage or fan of knives...basically, I wasn't offered a single removal spell or board clear. My deck consisted of some 27 minions, a sap, conceal and cold blood. All I could do was throw minions on the board and hope to outtrade my opponent. When I got behind, I was screwed because of the lack of spells. Bad start game 1. Lost. Insane mech mage with mechwarper turn 2 and 9 mech minions in a row afterwards. Lost. Good trades and board state game 3. But it was Mage so I got flamestriked out of the game turn 7. Not even Trump can salvage that draft. And it's 50 gold down the drain (the pack is a 100 gold refund).
Maybe I'm unlucky but the next 4 runs I've had were about just as bad, usually playing against mages and getting everything worth anything immediately removed. For a guy who used to regularly get over 7 wins in Arena before WotOG, this new state of Arena feels pretty shit.
one thing i don't understand with cards that say "dragon" then say "do something if u are holding a dragon" but still doesn't activate when u only have that card. i mean either change the text like add "except for this card" or let the card do it effect or something,,, it defies logic..
by the way this is just a joke.
It's a battlecry. Once the card is on the board, you're no longer holding it.
+Lequinow so they should switch it to "battlecry: gain 1/1 if there is no dragon in your hand after you play this card"

I think there's a limit of dumbproofing that souldn't need to be crossed. The keywords are pretty clear, a new player with a tiny bit of logical thinking would not get confused. Plus, there's a yellow visual indicator when the battlecry would take effect, so there's really no excuse.
Lequinow yeah pretty clear that battlecry is the key word here,, it's why i was making the joke... cuz that book wyrm card is so useless in trump's hand...
