Consort Hui is clearly guilty she easily stood up when A'rou look at her directions. The Empress in this drama is evil while the Empress in Story of Yanxi Palace is kind and has a good heart.
In Yanxi Palace, she's closest to Empress Xiaoxian's real life personality. She was said to be virtuous, kind, generous and frugal. She was kinda the "Empress Zhangsun" of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong actually loved her very much, some even believe she might've been his favourite woman. Yanxi Palace did a wonderful job with her portrait as Fuca Rongyin. Here in Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, she is a bitter woman who doesn't have the real love of the Emperor and was his second choice for official wife. She feels constantly threatened by Ruyi, who possesses Qianlong's heart and was actually his first choice to be the main wife.
The emperor has betrayed Ruyi more than anyone else
When Hui stood up and started fussing Ruyi looked like well, that answers that!
Can someone please explain why the Empress's Handmaiden stopped her from drinking her cup of tea? Why did she do all that slowly so she wouldn't draw attention ?
Well not really telling her to stop drinking but to tell her to not involve themselves, leaving A’ruo to the wolves.

She did, we didn't see it. In the book, she did it in front of Ruyi and the emperor but he told her to shut it.
