I usually just get a 051 since before getting the SotF you usually go for a Jungle's Bounty setup for that farming so the extra range from the XX1 upgrade can get the Druid to reach more farms for extra income.

I don’t use the x5x Druid when farming, I care more about placing it in the optimal spot for damage.
My personal favourite tier 5, I don’t know why I just love this thing so much

It's a really pretty design, that's why I love it so much
Note that the 0-5-0's vines being unable to pop leads only applies to the actual thorns on the track. The vines it summons from its 0-3-0/0-4-0 crosspathing are still able to hit leads and will shred them no problem. Unless you really care about DDT damage, it's probably a better idea to go 0-5-2 (or yeah, just get a MIB.)

Close to him blue and green spikes that do a lot of damage, in the range of druid but away from the blue ones he makes a green spikes that do likes 3 points less of damage and out of range everywhere a brown ones with 6 damage less than blue ones
Is better give range to druid to have green/second tier road vines because do more damage than brown ones

thorns nearest the spirit of the forest do more damage, not within the sotf's range
Seeing the spirit of the forest gave me an idea, gonna reactivate a couple mods and put down multiple middle path T5s and see how broken it would be

Only 4 stack on top of each other, and that's 80 damage per tick on the toughest vines. Spirit of the forest is a cleanup tower, i did 2 towers chimps with it and mad. Mad destroys moabs, spirit of the forest cleans up every bloon with no issues.
Fun fact: in 4 player co-op you can have 4 2-5-0 druids on the map Balance and any non BAD will melt the moment it touches the center ring. Also thanks HBomb for covering this. I think this is the tower I use in almost every CHIMPS run simply for its ceramic popping utility.

It's so true. You can rush a 2-3-0 druid and then you know you're set until the 50's for leads. Then you can get a 2-4-0 and depending on placement, gain more money easily which snowballs.
2-3-0 is also a huge boon depending on the map since they don't need LOS.

@Ll L No, the passive cannot pop Leads. The vine grabbing active attack CAN pop Leads, but the track vines don't unless you go for 2-5-0.
A simple way to check that is to make a 0-5-0 or 0-5-2 Druid in Sandbox and send Camo Leads or DDTs. You'll begin to hear the TINK sound of ineffective attacks. That does not happen when 2-5-0.
Spirit of the forest is definitely my favourite tower. I always use it for mid/late game

I use this path a lot, especially in games on long/annoying maps like cornfield, it’s so nice to have bloons take damage from the moment they enter the track (doing the remove no corn on cornfield CHIMPS)
I honestly hope hope they make the crosspaths more important for the SotF, they should have at least a little more effect on the thorns

I've gotten a 250 in some challenges as my midgame damage, and he almost solos while generating a significant amount of money. also 130 druid basically solos the entire early game, so it's a pretty nice build up. This guy rocks

Fun fact, the thorn from SOTF doesn’t remove regrow. I learned that from a challenge before that dealt with camo regrow fortified ceremics.

We had this debate on boltrix's account a while ago and i kept explaining the difference between btd6 and btd battles 2 spirit of the forest, but they kept debating with no logic or proofs that they work exactly the same. Now i can just show them your video.

About today's STWB™, according to NK, Battles 1 happens in a simulation, which could also be true for BTDB2 and would explain the inconsistencies with certain towers' behavior.

I always go for 2-5-0, as much I love Superstorm against DDT's. Spirit of the Forest is my personal favourite tower in the game

I get the 0 5 2. Mostly just for the range so I can cram more banana farms in.
My favorite set up is a intelligence group in between psi and and a druid.
Fair, if there is room to cover the track and farm, the 052 is good for that
i like 2-5-0 as earlier 2-2-0 or 2-3-0 are very strong in earlier rounds and can make the tower much more reliable
Another note is that if you have range and then buy the druid, it will instantly place more because of it's betterr range.

Also here's a Shower thought involving Spirit of the forest - Why can the T5 thorns pop camo but not T3 or T4
The tower behave differently between games because one is an in universe spectator game similar to the roman gladiators that is their for balanced for spectacle and the other corresponds to the actual war that the other is displaying/celebrating.

Reasons why x5x is one of my go-to tier 5s:
- Completely removes any threat from MOABs and individual bloons
- Global range and no line of sight problems
- Effectively infinite pierce
- Constant uptime and can't miss
- Extra lives and money really do add up, especially since you're getting excellent pops at the same time
- Can't handle BFBs and higher, but does weaken them dramatically for other towers
- x3x and x4x on the way have global range and can handle any non-grouped individual bloons on their own
You need to get a strong single-target damage tower to handle large MOAB-class bloons alongside your x5x Driud. But getting x5x Druid makes getting another tier 5 dramatically easier because there's so much less you need to focus on while you save up.

I thought the bottom crosspath increases the AoE damage of the strongest wines, but no, it only makes them grow faster when you buy it. It has a better buildup, however, as you have the AoE for more farm bonus.
I believe the 250 crosspath is better because when i get it, it’s normally to defend against most rounds including 59.

I’m pretty sure that if you buy range before upgrading to 5th tier it causes the higher damage thorns to grow out farther but it may just be visual
It makes the vines start growing in the bigger range, so you start with more vines yes, but the range of the different vines is fixed, so the bottom crosspath doesnt change this. In the video you can confirm this

You should mention that if you have the mk that gives it a 2nd ability 051/052 can be better as the vines grow back faster

If I'm not mistaken the bottom crosspath also causes the road spikes to remove regrow, it was the solution to an AC weeks ago
That is because of the 2nd upgrade in the middle path so SotF and its t3 and t4 will always have this. So it isnt dependent on the crosspath

There's no buff or crosspath that can increase vine's attack speed, that will only apply to the thorns/thunder attacks. Just tested it.
wait, does the extra pierce from 250 count for the track thorns, or just the base attack? seems like it would make a difference.
This dude is in every game I play, I can't (and don't want to) play to round 100 without him. I always go 2-5-0 just for the early game benefit. Also always my first 5tier due to the 1k every round.

i love going for larger radius before i go druid of the jungle because then you get more of the best spikes dew to the increased range before you upgrade
The best spikes are not dependent on range. His larger range only makes him place them faster as he fills that out almost instantly
have you ever just sat there and thought of the negative synergy that all paths of the druid have? Superstorm knocking things away from Spirit of the Forest's stronger vines (depending on their placement) as the Spirit of the Forest recovers lives which doesn't work good at all with the Avatar of Wrath
Other than that SotF and the Avatar have good synergy with Superstorm
Towers don't really tend to synergize with towers of the same type. Especially Glue Gunner. Boomerang Thrower is one of the few towers whose Tier 5s synergize extremely well.

Could you do a video on the top path alchemist? I usually go for faster throwing, but perishing potions says that it "Strenghtens brews and stimulants".

Hey Hbomb, I know banks are a super good way to farm in btd6, are they just as good and double the speed like the other farms in btdb2 do? And are they worth getting for btdb2?
I don't play much Battles 2, but I do not think they're as good as other farming options. (I could be totally wrong here though)

1. Crosspaths don't affect Maelstrom ability so if you're using Middle Path only for ability don't crosspath it. If you still want to crosspath it go for fast shooting.

051 increases the range of the powerful vines so you should actually go 052 or 051. 250 doesn't help because the druid its self at 050 is not good at attacking, you can already pop lead with MIB which you should have already if you have a spirit of the forest.

It just makes the initial grow faster. The stronger vines have a fixed radius, its not based on the druids range.

The strong vines range are static, it just spawns more vines (of different strenghts)
If you get 0-X-1 before 0-5-X then the area each of the thorns can spawn in is bigger
xx1 makes the vines start growing in the bigger range, so you start with more vines, but the range of the different vines is fixed, so the bottom crosspath doesn't change this.
Take in consideration that, the more range, the more "strong vines" he deploys, so probably a 05X is still better for a long term since at that point you don't care much about leads (which can be also popped with the X3X anyways)
The range of the different vines is fixed so the xx1 crosspath doesnt change anything about this. The only thing it changes is extra range for the druid to attack and, if you upgrade to xx1 before 051, the vines start growing in a bigger area. The bottom crosspath doesnt change the range of the better vines.

You should have taken the 0-4-0 into consideration as the 0-4-1 is better for farming while 2-4-0 is better for defense
I think the track vine passive should be affected by range. Not just as a buff, but as a quality-of-life convenience, because the radius for the strongest vines is slightly smaller than the range of a 0-5-0 Druid (50 for strongest vines, 55 for the visible range radius) and that makes it possible to not place the Spirit of the Forest optimally. Kind of what they did with the 0-0-5 Wizard that made its attack radius the same as the Shimmer radius.

I thought the vines had normal popping power. Didn't know at all that they were sharp. Something I was wondering is if you get Druidic Reach on him, do more vines become third tier or does his actual range not affect the vines.
His actual range doesnt affect the vines. The ‘better’ vines range is fixed and is therefore independent of its crosspath

Make a video about crosspathing Supply Drop and Elite Sniper. There is a lot of confusion about best crosspath.
I often see people in BTDB2 using very different crosspaths: 040, 140, 240, 042, 250, 052... it's a mess!
I personally go 042 on first supply drop (and sometimes the second as well if opponent is aggressive) then I spam 040 snipers. Elite sniper I go 052.

In my opinion, a 150 is better than a 250, as the 030 and 150 Druids can pop leads on its own and in the late game the lightning becomes very useless. The money from not buying lightning could be used to help buy something else.
